How Do I Switch My Internet Provider to Starry?

Starry is a fairly new internet service provider with a unique business model. It offers only one plan, with no contract required, a single price, and no hidden fees. Instead of using the cables and infrastructure that other companies rely on, Starry beams it into customers' homes through local millimeter-wave broadcasters. This enables them to quickly expand their service areas without the expense and labor of laying new cable systems. To learn how to make Starry your internet service provider, just keep reading.

Check Availability

Because Starry is such a recent entry into the field, it is not yet very widely available. To find out if it is available in your area, just follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Starry's home page.
  2. Scroll about halfway down the page.
  3. Click on the Check Availability button. A new tab will open up.
  4. Enter your address in the text box provided. Please note, this needs to be your residential address, not your billing address.

Find a Good Window

If Starry internet is available in your area, the next thing you are going to need to do is find a good window to put the Starry antenna in. It should have a clear, unblocked view of the sky in order to receive Starry's signal as clearly as possible.

Determine How Much You Owe Your Current Provider

If your current internet provider charges a termination fee, calculate how much of a termination fee you owe. Starry is so eager to get your business that it will pay up to $200 of any termination fee levied.

Once you are ready to make the switch, just call a Starry customer service representative to get the process started. There are no internet contact options.
