To set up Microsoft 365 with Microsoft Excel included, the first step is to sign in to your Microsoft account. Simply click “Sign in” or select “Create account” if you don’t have one yet.
Do you see the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard? If so, simply click “Next” and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the activation of your Microsoft 365 software successfully.
If the trial version of Microsoft 365 appears, it means you can use Microsoft Excel and other apps for a limited time. To continue using them after the trial ends, you’ll need to purchase a subscription.
To get started, click “Start Microsoft 365 Trial” and follow the prompts. You can then activate Excel by signing in with your Microsoft account once your subscription is confirmed.
Even if you already have a product key, you may want to start with the trial to get an extra month of use before activating your license. Simply follow the on-screen prompts to begin the trial and set up your software. You can start using Microsoft Excel right away once the trial is activated.
If you see a screen that says You've Got Office, it means that you have a one-year subscription to Microsoft 365, which already includes Excel. All you have to do is Sign In to your Microsoft account to activate your one-year subscription. Just click Sign In and then follow the prompts.
Did you purchase Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Excel with a product key? If so, you can activate your software by going to https://office.com/setup.
Once there, sign in with your Microsoft account and enter your product key. After that, simply follow the on-screen instructions to activate the software.
If you purchased Excel directly from the Microsoft website, you may not need a product key. Your license is typically linked to your Microsoft account, and you’ll just need to sign in to complete the setup.
Were you able to activate it? Note that you can also activate your software by phone. If this option is available, you’ll see it in the Activation Wizard. Simply choose “Activate by Telephone,” click Next, and follow the instructions. You’ll be provided with a phone number and guided through the activation process. When activation fails, you may see “Non-commercial use” or “Unlicensed Product” on the screen. This can happen when multiple versions of Office are installed on your device or when your subscription status has expired. Renew your subscription or contact Microsoft Customer Support for further assistance.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
