What documents do I need to bring for a vehicle registration?

Asked 6 months ago
When registering a vehicle in Maryland, certain documents are required. You will need to bring a completed application form or your registration renewal notice, proof of ownership in the form of a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO) or the title properly assigned to you. Additionally, proof of your current Maryland insurance is mandatory. You must also provide a valid Safety Inspection Certificate for used vehicles, or a valid Maryland Vehicle Emissions Inspection Certificate for vehicles manufactured in 2007 or later. If you have purchased the vehicle within the last six months, you will need to bring documentation of sales tax payment. Lastly, payment for the registration fee and any applicable taxes should be made. Collecting and preparing these documents in advance will ensure a smooth registration process at the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
