What are the requirements for obtaining a driver's license?

Asked a year ago
To obtain a driver's license in Maine, there are several requirements that must be met. First, applicants must be at least 16 years old. If under 18, they must have completed an approved driver education course and hold a learner's permit for at least 6 months. All applicants must pass a vision test and a written exam on Maine's traffic laws and signs. Additionally, they must provide proof of identity, residency, and Social Security number. For those over 21, a road test is required, while those under 21 must complete a driver education course and a road test. Finally, all applicants must pay the required fee. Once these requirements are met, a driver's license will be issued by the Maine Secretary of State.
