What is the difference between air cooling and liquid cooling?

Asked a year ago
Air cooling and liquid cooling are two different methods of cooling a computer system. Air cooling relies on fans and heat sinks to dissipate heat from the processor and other components. It involves using a CPU cooler with a heat sink and a fan to blow air over the heatsink which absorbs heat and then the hot air is expelled from the system. On the other hand, liquid cooling utilizes a closed-loop system with a radiator, pump, and tubes filled with coolant. The liquid absorbs heat from the components and transfers it to the radiator where it is dissipated by fans. Liquid cooling is more efficient in removing heat and can often provide better temperature control, allowing for potential overclocking. However, it is more complex to set up and maintain compared to air cooling, which is simpler and generally more cost-effective.
