Can I swim or shower while wearing the contacts?

Asked a year ago
It is not recommended to wear contacts while swimming or showering. Contact lenses are designed to absorb moisture from your eyes, which can be highly diluted in water. This can cause discomfort, irritation, and potentially lead to eye infections. Moreover, swimming pools, hot tubs, and natural bodies of water may contain microorganisms, chemicals, or debris that can adhere to the lenses, increasing the risk of eye irritation or infection. The water's pressure can also dislodge the contacts or cause them to suction onto the eye, necessitating professional assistance for removal. It is best to remove your contacts before swimming or showering to protect your eyes from potential harm and ensure optimal eye health and comfort.
