What should I do in case of a power outage?

Asked a year ago
In the event of a power outage, first check if your neighbors are also affected to determine the scope of the outage. Then, report the outage to your utility company to ensure they are aware of the issue. Look for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers in your home that may be causing the outage. Avoid opening your refrigerator or freezer to keep food from spoiling. Use flashlights rather than candles for lighting to reduce the risk of fire. Stay updated on the outage status through news reports or your utility company's website or social media. And finally, be patient as the utility company works to resolve the issue and restore power.
