How Do I Download Adobe Connect?
Adobe Connect is a virtual meeting environment used by managers, teachers, and others needing a virtual space to conduct meetings, lessons, and other group sessions. Then go to the Downloads and Updates page for Adobe, and download the proper executable file for your machine's operating system. Windows
First, make sure that Adobe Connect will work on this machine. You need a minimum of:
- Intel Core 2 processor or better (or equivalent)
- Windows 10, 64-bit ('N' Edition users must install Media Pack first)
- 1 GB RAM (2 GB recommended)
The above specs are for the desktop-based app. If you prefer to use the HTML client, your machine will need:
- Intel Core i5 processor faster (or equivalent)
- Windows 10, 8.1 (64- or 32-bit), 7 (64- or 32-bit)
- 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
- Compatible browser: Google Chrome 70.0 or above, Mozilla Firefox 65.0 or above, or Edge 79.0 or above.
Mac
If you are downloading to a Mac, your machine will need:
- 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor
- 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended)
- Mac OSX 10.13, 10.14. or 10.15
For the browser-based app, you instead need:
- Intel Core i5 processor or faster (or equivalent)
- 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
- Mac OSX 10.13, 10.14. or 10.15
- Compatible browser: Apple Safari 12.0 or above, Google Chrome 70.0 or above, Mozilla Firefox 65.0 or above, or Edge 79.0 or above.
Others
If your machine runs Linux, you need Ubuntu 18.04, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, and Google Chrome. Note that Adobe cannot provide support for using Linux. All features are available except for screen sharing. For a virtual environment, you will need Citrix XenApp 7.11.
Note also that everyone intending to attend an Adobe Connect meeting must have an Internet connection of 512 kbps or better. Hosts, presenters, and event managers need a minimum connection speed of 1 Mbps. Wired connections are recommended over wireless.
Installing
Once you have verified that your machine can handle Adobe Connect, go to the Downloads and Updates page. Close out any instance of Adobe Connect already running.
Choose the most recent version of Adobe Connect available, and click on the installer. This will download an .exe file to the machine (ConnectShellSetup for Windows; ConnectSetupMac for OS). Once the download completes, open the .exe file. This begins the downloader.
Follow the on-screen prompts. For best results, allow Adobe Connect to install in its preferred directory. If you encounter any problems, contact Adobe Connect Customer Support for assistance. Make sure to note down any error messages you received, and what you were trying to do when the error occurred. To ensure best service, try calling when at the machine in question. The Customer Service team is available from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time, and wait times are usually shortest around 1:00 pm.
