Subject: Need Assistance with Canceling Trip Due to Coronavirus Concerns
I have upcoming trips next month that I need to cancel due to my elderly husband and mother's health concerns. Swiss Air recently posted information about refunds, but I have been unable to reach them after several hour-long hold times resulting in disconnections. Despite Italy being on the restricted list, my brother was informed of fees for cancellation. I simply want to cancel both itineraries without penalties, as the current situation is beyond our control due to the Coronavirus outbreak. I have sent multiple emails and made numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact them by phone. Your help in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I have been attempting to cancel reservation VUS-[redacted]8 for a flight from IAD to BOG to EZE with my partner for the past two days. Our departure is scheduled for next week, and I need to complete the cancellation today. Despite sending emails, I have only received requests to reconfirm my cancellation with no further action taken. Additionally, I have spent two hours on three separate phone calls to Vayama, all of which were disconnected. Urgent assistance is required as I must resolve this immediately to involve my insurance company. Thank you for your help.

I urgently need to change my flight booked for THIS FRIDAY, March 13, from Chicago to Budapest via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines due to the coronavirus situation. I aim to keep my Chicago to Istanbul leg unchanged but redirect my final destination to Amman, Jordan. I understand this alteration can be arranged by Turkish Airlines but I must process it through Vayama, my initial booking platform. My booking number is: VUS-[redacted]6.

Hello Vayama,
I am Coralie Lacharmante contacting you once again regarding my booking with number BIE-[redacted]. Despite my efforts to reach out through emails and calls, I have yet to receive a response from your team. Our upcoming departure to Rome in less than 2 weeks has been disrupted by Aer Lingus canceling our flight due to the coronavirus situation in Italy.
With Italy under lockdown, it is impossible for us to reach Rome. This is why we urgently need to reroute our flight from Dublin to Mauritius. We have invested a significant amount of money into this trip and it is crucial for us to receive assistance promptly. Our booking may be for economy class, but that should not diminish the importance of addressing our situation.
I will continue to email until we get a response confirming the rerouting of our flight. Please understand our predicament and help us secure a new route to Mauritius as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello Vayama, I have been trying to contact you regarding my upcoming trip as our flight to Rome has been canceled due to the coronavirus situation and the lockdown in Italy. We are now unable to reach Rome and need to reroute our flight to Mauritius. Despite sending daily emails, I have yet to receive a response. It is crucial as we are departing in less than 2 weeks, not 4 as stated in your automated message. I understand the challenges, but we need your prompt assistance to avoid losing our investment. Your attention to our situation is essential, regardless of our booking class. Please consider rerouting our flight promptly.

I encountered an issue when attempting to follow the instructions to change or cancel my flight through "My Trip." The specified header was not present on the page, leading to a frustrating dead end. I hold a round-trip ticket from Bangkok to Madrid under the Vayama booking reference KUSW-[redacted], which I urgently need to cancel.
My original intention was to proceed with my travel plans; however, given the current crisis, particularly with Madrid now being a hotspot for Covid19 cases in Europe, I have had a change of heart. Despite visiting the Qatar Airways website, I was redirected to contact the agency I used for booking assistance.
As a 69-year-old individual with a compromised respiratory system, the recent developments have prompted me to reconsider my trip to Spain. I kindly request understanding and support for my decision to cancel my booking under these circumstances. Thank you.

Dear all,
As a solo female traveler, I was scheduled to fly from Costa Rica to Ecuador on March 22, [redacted]. Due to the current coronavirus situation, Ecuador has decided to close its borders to all affected countries, leaving me, a US citizen, stranded. I'm seeking assistance in resolving this matter. I am considering options such as receiving credits for future flights, postponing my current flight, canceling with a refund, or arranging for an alternate trip back to New York from Costa Rica. This situation is unfortunate, and the financial strain is significant as I have diligently saved to cover all my travel expenses. I greatly appreciate any understanding and support in navigating this challenging situation.

Hello Vayama Support,
I am reaching out regarding my booking with the reference number VUS-[redacted]9 for a flight to MNL on May 21, [redacted].
Unfortunately, my flight was canceled by Singapore Airlines. Despite my efforts to contact them directly, I was directed back to you as the booking was made through Vayama.
Upon checking my flight status, I noticed the following changes:
- JFK to FRA (SQ 25): Schedule Change
- FRA to SIN (SQ325): Schedule Change
- SIN to MNL (SQ [redacted]): Confirmed
I find it puzzling that only the first two legs of my journey were canceled while the final leg remains confirmed. As a student interning in the Philippines, my family urgently needs me home due to the current pandemic situation, compounded by the time-sensitive nature of my visa status. I kindly request assistance with either a refund or rebooking of my flight.
I look forward to your prompt response. Thank you.

My mother-in-law and I purchased tickets in September [redacted] through Vayama for a flight to Cote D'Ivoire from JFK to ABJ with Ethiopian Airlines. The flight got canceled on March 25, and we were notified via email. Vayama assured in a previous email that they would manage any cancellations with the airline and initiate a refund if necessary. On April 10, Vayama informed us that the flight has been rescheduled for May 2, which does not suit our plans. As per DOT regulations, we are entitled to a full refund if we opt not to be rebooked on the same airline after a canceled flight. We don't want to be rescheduled for the May 2 flight. We have been attempting to contact Vayama without success. Phone calls are not going through, and emails only receive automatic responses. With just over two weeks until the rescheduled flight, we don't want to risk being considered a no-show. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I have a question about my flight on May 12 as the Philippines is on shutdown from May 2-9. I think it would be safer to reschedule the flight to a later date due to uncertainties about proper quarantine facilities in my home country. Could you assist me in rebooking the flight to a later date when my visa is still valid? It seems like a feasible solution for both the passengers and the company to avoid legal issues. I've observed some negative feedback regarding Vayama and Kayak in the comment sections, and I believe being proactive in rebooking flights could prevent such problems. Your understanding and assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I purchased two roundtrip tickets from LAX to New Dehli with Qatar Airlines for departure on April 14, [redacted] via the Kayak website through Vayama for $4,[redacted].54 on January 31, [redacted].
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, India suspended visa issuance to non-Indian citizens on March 16, [redacted]. I reached out to Vayama through their website asking for a refund and contacted Qatar Airlines for either a refund or travel voucher.
Vayama's phone lines are closed, and I can no longer find my correspondence on their website, except for a notice of flight cancellation and a promise of a future refund. The booking M5MBNQ on Qatar's website is no longer valid.

Hello, I'm Klara Smolikova. I have a booking number #23X73J. My ticket for May 16 was canceled, and I was rebooked for May 30, which is not feasible. Flights from Chicago to Dublin are still operating today, tomorrow, and even on Saturday. I need to be on a flight for May 16, or I would like to stay on the original one. Waiting another 14 days is not an option for me due to financial and housing concerns. Please reach out to me via email. Thank you, Klara Smolikova.

I bought a ticket from Vayama that involves American Airlines (AA) and Japan Airlines (JAL) for a trip from the USA to Jakarta, Indonesia, with a 20-hour layover in Japan. Unfortunately, JAL changed my flight to a week later, while AA's schedule remains the same. Vayama notified me via email last Thursday, stating that if I did not confirm within 24 hours, they would take care of it for me. I only saw the email today, Monday. I now wish to cancel my flight and request a refund. Vayama advised me to contact the airlines for a refund approval. However, JAL's website recommends contacting the travel agency. I have tried reaching Vayama on their numbers 1-[redacted] and [redacted], but they never answered. I am unsure if I can get a refund from AA and JAL given this situation.

Hello,
I am experiencing numerous flight changes that I did not agree to regarding the dates and layovers. The airline stated there were no changes, yet my flight keeps getting altered daily. I need to discuss these ongoing changes with you as it's causing inconvenience.
I comprehend the situation but the lack of professionalism is disappointing.
My confirmation number is VUS-[redacted]9; my initial flight was on June 27 from Honolulu to Vienna, with the return on August 20 from Vienna to Honolulu. I cannot accept the altered flight due to a family funeral conflict.
Feel free to reach me at [redacted].
Best regards,
Karolina H.

I need to cancel my flight, VUS [redacted]9, to Bulgaria due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. I contacted customer service and was initially informed of a $35 fee per person to change the flight, which the first representative stated. However, upon calling again, another staff member mentioned a penalty fee of $[redacted] per person as the flight had been changed before. When reaching out to Turkish Airlines, I was informed that there should be no penalty since the previous change was made by the airline, not the passenger. They explained that the fees were imposed by the booking company to cover the price difference. After checking online, I found that the current price for the desired dates is $[redacted]. I am confused by the additional charges and question if this is a fair practice or if it could be considered exploitation by the customer service team. I also recommend that the staff be more courteous.

I bought a ticket earlier this year for a round-trip flight on Latam Airlines from Mexico City to Buenos Aires for passenger W.N. The flight from Mexico City to Buenos Aires was on February 26, [redacted], and went smoothly. However, the return flight was canceled due to the coronavirus situation in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, flights are not operating in Argentina currently, and Latam Airlines has ceased operations in Mexico. I am seeking a refund as Latam Airlines has confirmed they will issue one for this circumstance, but I am unable to reach anyone for assistance. I have attempted to contact them through Facebook and their website, but to no avail. Please respond to this message and provide an update on when I can expect the refund. The confirmation number is VMX-[redacted], and the e-ticket number is [redacted][redacted].

I had a flight booked from NY to Bali on June 29, but with the Covid-19 situation in my destination country, I needed to cancel. I attempted to reach out to the office multiple times but received no response due to the pandemic closure. When I finally contacted the airline directly and emailed them, they informed me that since I booked through an agency, they couldn't process my cancellation. I explained my situation to my credit card company, who attempted to dispute the charge with Vayama, but unfortunately, Vayama declined the dispute. Now, my credit card company will re-bill me for the flight. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue and avoid being charged would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance. - Sonny
