Last year, I filed my taxes using TurboTax for about $39 and got the highest available version with Intuit identity protection. This year, TurboTax insisted I upgrade to the $49 version and ended up charging me $[redacted] out of my $[redacted] tax return for fewer services than last year. They took the money without my consent, and the order details seem misleading, showing I only paid $39. It's frustrating how TurboTax seems to be taking advantage of customers' money.

I am having trouble accessing my [redacted]-B information from Chase. The "Chase Investments" option is missing from the list of institutions to choose from, despite being available in previous years. Is there an issue with the current release and Chase Investments?
To address this for Brokerage and Managed (CSP, MFAP, PMP) Accounts in TurboTax software, follow these steps:
1. Search for "Chase Investments" within the TurboTax software.
2. Enter your chase.com username, password, and identification code.
3. Click 'Get Your Identification Code' in TurboTax to request the code.
4. A multifactor authentication page will appear; choose to receive the identification code via phone, text, or email.
5. Once received, enter the code in TurboTax within 30 minutes to proceed with the download.

I successfully utilized a Document ID code and account number to import my Vanguard [redacted]-R information into TurboTax Premier for the [redacted] tax year without any issues. I completed both my Federal and New York State taxes but encountered a problem when I reached the stage to file. After clicking on "Transmit your returns", I was prompted for additional information not previously required.
Upon reviewing Box 14 (State Tax Withheld) of the Vanguard [redacted]-R, I noticed it displayed "0.00" when it should reflect $[redacted]. Whenever I input $[redacted] and attempt to transmit, the system loops back to the same entry, preventing me from proceeding with the filing. Even if I enter the correct amount again, $[redacted], the screen incorrectly shows $[redacted] in taxes withheld, causing the loop to repeat when I try to transmit.
I am looking for assistance to resolve this issue promptly so I can accurately report $[redacted] for State Tax Withheld and successfully file my taxes electronically. Thank you.

My state return got rejected. I've checked the state form and it's accurate. I attempted to fix this previously but received a message saying TurboTax software needed updating for the Oregon State kicker by 2/18. I need to resolve this issue as I will be away until May, after the filing deadline. PLEASE ASSIST ME IN AMENDING THIS RETURN. I am reluctant to provide my credit card details and pay to address a TurboTax problem.

I need to access my account from last year on TurboTax. I love using their mobile app and believe they are the best online tax preparers. Unfortunately, I lost all my log-in information after a fire destroyed my home, including my email address, username, and password. Without access to my email and the devices I used for verification, I can't retrieve the needed information like last year's AGI. Despite trying the recovery page, I can't recall my username, email, password, or security pin. I'm unable to get an IRS transcript due to lost identification and can't afford the IRS fee for a copy of my returns. Any guidance on how to obtain this crucial information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I completed my TurboTax small business form a week ago, attached the signed [redacted] form, and clicked on the "transmit now" button. However, I'm stuck in a loop and not sure if I've submitted everything needed. The support team mentioned I mistakenly used the self-employed version instead of the Subchapter-S corporation version I usually use. I have no taxes owed or refunds to claim, and I just want to finish this quickly to move on to my personal taxes from my main job. My support account number is [redacted], but my last interaction with support was unhelpful and took 40 minutes.

Subject: Urgent Concern About Missing Tax Refund
Hello,
I am reaching out regarding the status of my tax refund. I submitted my tax returns on 1/31/[redacted], and both my state and federal filings were accepted and electronically submitted with a deduction of nearly $80 to cover the filing fees. Despite using TurboTax in the past without any issues, I encountered a problem when checking the "where is my refund" page as there was no record of my tax filing.
Feeling concerned and frustrated, I am seeking clarity on the whereabouts of my refund. Additionally, I would like to retract the permission granted for TurboTax to deduct fees from my refund. Timely receipt of my refund is crucial for me to meet obligations such as property tax payment due on March 1st and other essential bills.
I kindly request prompt assistance in resolving this matter. Your immediate attention to this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
J.W.

I recently received a letter from the IRS regarding an issue with my [redacted] tax return. After making multiple phone calls and dealing with long wait times, I was informed that the problem was on the IRS's end, not TurboTax's, and that it would be resolved. When I filed my [redacted] tax return today, it was promptly rejected due to the incorrect AGI from [redacted], likely related to the previous issue. After another lengthy wait on hold, the representative advised me to enter a 0 for my [redacted] AGI, which didn't seem right to me. Despite my attempts to seek clarification, the agent seemed unsure, prompting me to request a manager multiple times. The situation was not resolved, and after being placed on hold again, I was ultimately disconnected. My experience with TurboTax has been decent in the past, but dealing with these issues for the past two years has been a frustrating disaster.

I purchased the TurboTax Premier Edition due to its high rating for tax filing this year. After completing my joint federal return and attempting to eFile, I received an error message within 45 minutes. The error seemed to be related to the Spouse AGI Amount, which was perplexing as we file jointly and have the same AGI. Despite verifying last year's AGI and making corrections, the error persisted. I reached out to TurboTax multiple times for assistance, with no clear resolution. Despite receiving software updates, the same error continued to prevent successful eFiling. This experience has been disappointing, as I relied on TurboTax for easy and reliable tax filing. Now, I am left with the frustration of having to resort to mailing in my return and facing potential issues in the future. There seems to be a deeper issue within the software causing these recurring errors, impacting my confidence in TurboTax for future use.

My tax return got rejected because of duplicate entries. I have 5 [redacted]-R forms with different account numbers, but two have the same amounts. I've used the same account numbers and amounts for 8 years without issues until now. Can I refile using e-file?
Second question: We received a [redacted]-C for debt cancellation after co-signing an auto loan. The borrower defaulted, and the debt was canceled, with the [redacted]-C issued in my wife's name. Do we need to report this as taxable income?

I am inquiring about the location of my federal tax refund through TurboTax. The IRS transmitted it to the bank on the 33rd of February. I was advised that if it does not appear in my account by the 27th, I should contact the bank. After speaking with the bank, they directed me to contact TurboTax. The back-and-forth communication has been ongoing for over 30 days now, and I am reaching my limit. If my refund does not reflect in my account by the end of today, March 3rd, [redacted], I will have my lawyer take action against TurboTax for potential false advertising and misrepresentation. The agent assisting with my return has lacked professionalism, and I am unable to access her full and accurate name. Moreover, TurboTax has been compensated from my pending refund. I have the payment receipt and find it concerning that TurboTax has received their payment while my refund is outstanding. If the situation is not rectified promptly, legal action will ensue. Your urgent attention to this matter is requested. My contact number is [redacted], William J. Thank you.

I am concerned about my tax refund status. I did not receive the third stimulus or child tax credit even though I did not opt out. I am wondering if my delayed refund is due to an outstanding $[redacted] state tax payment from a previous year after filing an amended return. I was under the impression that I had three years to settle the state tax debt. This year's filing process seemed smooth, and the state refund was less than usual, leading me to believe the IRS may have offset my debt. However, after filing, I received conflicting information about the state refund amounts from both the IRS and TurboTax. With recent discussions about refund delays, especially for those claiming the child tax credit, I am unsure if my state tax debt is holding up my entire refund.

I am facing a challenge with my tax returns. I used TurboTax for my [redacted] Federal and CA taxes. After e-filing, both returns got rejected. The Federal return rejection was due to the [redacted] AGI not matching IRS records. I sent my [redacted] tax return in March [redacted], paying what I owed. Later, in December [redacted], I was informed the IRS credited my account but did not receive my tax return. I promptly sent a copy following their instructions in the letter received. By early January [redacted], the IRS should have it. I am unsure if their database is not updated or if there is another issue, but I hope for a prompt resolution to avoid any penalties for a late filing.

I accidentally purchased TurboTax Deluxe this year instead of my usual TurboTax 8 Return Standard with the disk. In February [redacted], I installed the Deluxe version and started my tax return but exited out as I didn't have all the necessary information. Now, when I try to get back in, I realize I misplaced all the login details. I attempted to log in, but I forgot my password and had to create a new one. However, now it's asking for a 16-digit number that I don't have.

Two days ago, my son and I were working on his tax return when we encountered an issue during the final step. Despite spending 45 additional minutes on the phone with a representative, we were unable to complete it. It seems to be a problem on TurBoTax's end. The representative assured us they would escalate the issue to the higher-ups and resolve it within 48 hours, promising to send an email. However, we have not received any follow-up from them yet. Today, when I logged in and called, the automated system couldn't locate my information with the details provided. This whole situation has left me feeling extremely frustrated at this point.

Dear members of the forum, I am Natalie Ward, and upon checking the irs.gov website, it indicates that my tax return is delayed. I have been facing this issue for a while now and have attempted to contact both TurboTax and the IRS with no success, as all numbers lead to automated recordings. My return was submitted on 2-16-22, and it has been 9 weeks without any progress. I am frustrated with the situation and if this matter is not addressed, I will not be using TurboTax again. The process is taking much longer than the promised 21 days, and I am eager to have this resolved promptly. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Natalie N. Ward

When calculating the foreign tax credit using Turbo Tax, the process for inputting foreign source income can be confusing as it is located within the foreign taxes section. It might be more user-friendly if Turbo Tax included a prompt when inputting dividend income asking if there is any foreign source income, followed by a specific input screen for that information. Placing foreign source income under the foreign taxes section can be counterintuitive, as that section is typically for foreign taxes only. One suggestion is to integrate foreign source income input within the dividend income section, given its relevance to generating the foreign tax credit. Alternatively, renaming the foreign taxes section to Foreign Tax Credit Calculation could clarify its purpose. These improvements would make entering foreign source income into Turbo Tax more straightforward and intuitive for users, alleviating the challenges faced when trying to claim the foreign tax credit.

Hello, my name is Bou Vang. I need to address an issue with my federal tax return deposit. The IRS2go app notified me that my [redacted] federal tax return was deposited on March 2, [redacted]. However, after filing through TurboTax, I received an amendment notification regarding child support payments, reducing my deposit amount to $[redacted]. Originally, my tax return was $4,[redacted]. Credit Karma shows a deposit of only $[redacted], leaving a discrepancy in the amount received. I am in need of the remaining funds to cover expenses during this pandemic. I am using TurboTax Business [redacted] to file a Form [redacted] partnership return. While entering information for Capital Gains, I answered YES to receiving a Form [redacted]-B and YES to IRS receiving cost basis information. However, on the resulting forms, Box A and Box D should be checked for short-term and long-term gains respectively. Instead, Box C and Box F are checked, indicating that no information was provided to the IRS. I had an hour-long screen share call with a TurboTax representative that unfortunately got disconnected.

While working on my Michigan MI-[redacted] Schedule 1 for additions and deductions, I noticed that all of my tax-exempt interest is being shown as an addition to my Michigan income when only part of it should be added as Michigan tax-exempt income. The software did not prompt me to break this down during input. I also observed that it is not displaying the correct exempt federal interest income, missing unqualified dividends from bond funds that are considered federal interest income. Similarly, it didn't ask for clarification on the input screen, as this data was imported from my brokerage account. I believe TurboTax should address this issue by either allowing me to enter the accurate figures for Michigan exempt interest income and non-taxable US interest income or prompting users to specify the breakdown of exempt interest income for Michigan taxation and dividends representing US interest income.
