At the end of May, there was insufficient funds to debit my account, resulting in its suspension. Despite collectors not collecting the full amount in June and July, I am continuously being charged penalties. It is unclear why they are debiting small amounts without prior consultation with me. This situation feels like a scam, as the credit collectors seem to be profiting from clients by repeatedly charging penalties and keeping accounts suspended even when payments are made. This leaves me paying for services not used, which is concerning.

Hello,
I am Geoff Drabble, and you can reach me at [redacted]. I live in Fourways Gardens Phase 2 at 23 Sweetgum Crescent. There is a telephone pole and wires hanging down in need of repair or removal. This situation poses a potential hazard and is visually unappealing. I believe these wires may have been installed 25-30 years ago and are likely no longer in use. I would appreciate permission to address this issue myself by either removing the wires or burying them underground.

In March [redacted], I settled my last payment at Checkers Fleurdal in Bloemfontein and requested the cancellation of my Telkom account due to relocation. The assistant assured me the cancellation was processed.

We recently had fibre lines installed in Prince Albert, Western Cape. I initially inquired about monthly fibre with Telkom but decided to stick with Vodacom. Telkom mistakenly confirmed my fibre request via email even though I had cancelled on July 7th. After repeated emails, they acknowledged my cancellation, but I received a notification that the routers were on the way. After rejecting the equipment as advised, Vodacom now faces issues installing fiber due to Telkom still being listed as the ISP. To resolve this, Telkom must confirm the cancellation with a reference number. I've tried various contact numbers without success, including [redacted], [redacted]8, and [redacted]35, but have not been able to reach an agent. I even messaged them on Whatsapp. How can I successfully contact Telkom to resolve this issue?

I am disappointed with the service at the Telkom outlet in Vaal Mall. There is never any stock available, and the staff seem unwilling to assist or take customers' details for future stock notifications. Often, they are chatting amongst themselves while customers wait in long queues. I have been waiting for three weeks to purchase a WIFI router, leading to frustration as I still have to pay for a service not received. This lack of service is affecting my children's ability to use the internet for their studies.
Telkom is a major communication company in the country, but it seems the smaller companies offer better service. I urge Telkom to provide better customer service training for their staff to improve the overall experience for customers.

I have been a satisfied and loyal customer of yours for many years, but recently I encountered a problem that has left me quite disappointed. In September, I was offered a fiber deal to replace my expiring LTE sim-only contract. I was assured that my LTE contract would be canceled upon taking the new offer, which I accepted. After my fiber was installed promptly, I contacted customer service (Ref [redacted]) to activate it and confirm the cancellation of my LTE contract. To my dismay, a payment was deducted from my account at the end of September. Despite visiting the walk-in center at Wonderboom Junction for help and reversing the debit order, I have now been charged an additional R200 penalty fee on top of my inflated October bill. I urge you to rectify this error and refund the unjust penalty fee promptly; otherwise, I will have no choice but to terminate all contracts with Telkom. Please address this urgent matter and resolve it efficiently to maintain our customer relationship.

Hello,
I am currently experiencing an issue with my Telkom account. Since August 31, [redacted], they have not been able to debit my account, claiming that I am rejecting the debit order. I need to know where I can submit evidence proving that I have not been rejecting the debit order. Additionally, I would like to dispute the R400 charge that was incurred for allegedly 'rejecting' the debit order. Despite having my old phone stolen, other companies have not had trouble deducting payments because their debit orders have not been stopped. It is not within my control that Telkom is facing issues with debiting my account, especially since other debit orders are being processed without any problems. I have already reached out to the bank, and they have confirmed that there are no issues from their end. A prompt response would be greatly appreciated as this matter has been ongoing for some time.

When I called, I waited on hold for 53 minutes before speaking with Simphiwe Xolo, who informed me that our ADSL was unavailable and could not assist further. I contacted the billing department to cancel the service, where Ayanda provided me with reference number [redacted]A. During this process, I mentioned my dissatisfaction with not receiving any notification about the termination of our service. I have been a loyal customer for almost a decade, always paying on time and supporting Telkom S.A. Despite receiving offers from other providers, I have chosen to stick with Telkom. However, the call got disconnected while I was on the line. I am seeking confirmation that my cancellation request has been processed since you are unable to provide the service. I am disappointed as I have had ongoing issues with my debit orders with your company. I have repeatedly had to call your call center because the debit orders were not going through. Despite making manual payments and providing proof, you still attempted to debit my account multiple times in October after I had already paid. Furthermore, I was retrenched in September and can no longer afford the service. I have visited your branch in Randfontein to address this, but the consultant was unhelpful. I request for my contract to be cancelled immediately due to my circumstances. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate it to the ombudsman. I have all the necessary proof of payment and retrenchment to support my case. I have also contacted the individuals who advised me on making manual payments. Since Friday, I've been experiencing network issues when trying to make calls to numbers starting with [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]. The error message I receive states that the number does not exist. I even contacted customer service today, but the problem was not resolved. I can make calls to Telkom numbers without any issues, but I am unable to connect to Vodacom numbers. Any assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently facing a significant issue with my phone. About a week ago, my phone was stolen along with the pre-paid sim card I purchased from a shop in Pakistan. Unfortunately, the stolen sim card was linked to all of my important accounts and data, including my Gmail account. My Gmail holds all my contacts, Google photos, and cherished memories. I am experiencing issues with outgoing emails ever since switching to a fiber connection. I have attempted to resolve the problem by trying various outgoing servers and port numbers, but unfortunately, I am still unable to send emails. It appears that Telkom has been unable to help me, and contacting the helpdesk at [redacted] has not been effective. It is frustrating to be paying for a service that I am not receiving. The recurring error message I encounter is "server error [redacted].5.7.1." This problem has persisted for the past two months.

I have been experiencing an issue with my Telkom landline for the past two weeks. The problem started when the dial tone on my landline disappeared. I reached out to customer service and spoke to the operator Nandien. Despite not detecting any fault with the line, she attempted to transfer me to another person who could assist with checking my instruments. Unfortunately, the call got disconnected during the transfer. I am unsure who to contact next to determine if I need to purchase new phones or if there is another underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Thank you.

Hello, I hope you are well. I wanted to bring to your attention that there is an open manhole near my property, and another one further down the road. I have reached out to Vumatel and the City of Cape Town, and they advised me to contact Telkom regarding this issue. I have been attempting to file this complaint for the past hour as I am concerned that someone, especially a child, might get hurt. I reside in Eastridge, Mitchell's Plain, and I suspect that there might have been tampering by thieves in our area. Your urgent assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I have been a loyal customer of Telkom for many years. In our area, we do not have fiber optics, so I rely on an ADSL router for internet access. Recently, Telkom deactivated my ADSL connection, insisting I switch to LTE. My application to migrate to LTE was declined, citing credibility issues. I am disappointed with the level of service I have received from Telkom, leading me to cancel all my Telkom services. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the poor service at Telkom Promenade. I am extremely frustrated with the unfriendly and rude welcome I received from the lady there. I have visited twice now for a sim swap, but every time they claim it is offline. This experience has pushed me to consider switching to other networks and to inform my friends and family about this issue. It has been a struggle trying to get a sim swap done, as both times I was told it was offline with no assistance. If you lose a Telkom sim card, it seems there is no help available.

I reside in Estcourt, KZN at 43 Hellet Road, Estcourt, KZN [redacted]. Telkom employees visited on the 3rd of February to install a new cable for their Wi-Fi and cleared the cable path by cutting trees. Unfortunately, they left piles of rubble behind after completing the job. As they are now unreachable, I am contemplating removing the poles within my yard and arranging for a truck to clear the debris to address the issues that were caused.
