Hello, my name is Carolyn C. I recently purchased a [redacted] Impreza Sport with leather seats and a sunroof. Despite never spending this much on a car before, I value a dependable vehicle. I, being the sole driver and an x-ray tech, take great care of my car. Unfortunately, I have faced two recalls, experienced brake issues, and now, with just 50,[redacted] miles, the transmission needs replacement. I was distressed when Subaru suggested I take the car home despite the transmission problem. This situation is aggravated by the fact that Subaru offered to cover only 50% of the cost, claiming it's due to leather quality issues. A friend, Barbara B., had a similar problem, and Subaru covered [redacted]% of the expense for her. I am disappointed by the uneven treatment. My contact number is [redacted], and I intend to follow up tomorrow as I am deeply upset with the service provided in this instance.

I recently bought a new [redacted] Outback with 14,[redacted] miles on it. Despite not driving it much due to also using my Corolla for town trips, the Outback has been a disappointment. A few months back, I experienced a frustrating situation where the car wouldn't start, resulting in a three-day repair to replace the battery and update the computer program. The second issue occurred yesterday when I was stuck in my Outback without the air conditioning on a busy highway, causing all the dashboard lights to light up. This led to two hours without A/C, along with two dogs, one of which is older and may have suffered a heat stroke. The reliability of my Subaru is now in question, and I have decided to go back to Toyota rather than purchase another Subaru in the future.

I own a [redacted] Subaru Outback that recently had engine repairs done due to a minor accident. The repairs were finished in February, but now the engine has failed, rendering the car unusable. The dealership is refusing to take responsibility for the repairs. I'm questioning if Subaru will back their vehicles. On top of that, we are now facing the expense of replacing the entire engine. The car has 80,[redacted] miles, predominantly on the highway, and the engine has seized up completely. This situation has been a major letdown and is proving to be financially burdensome.

I recently completed a survey regarding our recent Forester purchase after receiving mail and email requests. While I had more concerns about the survey tool than the Subaru dealer, I felt compelled to share my dissatisfaction with the scale used. Typically, a 5-point scale ranges from Poor to Excellent, but this survey used categories like Poor, Not defined, Very Good, Not defined, and Exceptional. I suspect this non-traditional scale was employed to skew results in favor of the dealers, which I find deceptive and detrimental to Subaru's reputation. Although I voiced these concerns in the survey, I doubt they will reach someone who can address the issue appropriately.

I purchased a [redacted] Crosstrek in June. I fell in love with it back in [redacted] and still do because of the safety features and how nice it is to drive. It's a significant upgrade from my [redacted] PT Cruiser. I'm 5'3" tall, and I have to move the driver's seat up quite a bit to reach the pedals, which makes entering the car challenging due to the sloping roofline. A suggestion for the next redesign would be to consider those of us who are shorter. I also struggle to reach the back hatch handle due to my height. If it were a bit lower, it would be easier. I wonder what even shorter individuals do. Are there any attachments or solutions to shorten the hatch opening? Not everyone is tall, so please keep that in mind for future designs. Thank you.

I have been a dedicated Subaru customer since purchasing my first Forester in [redacted]. With the assistance of my trusted mechanic, I managed to put more than [redacted],[redacted] miles on this Subaru. In [redacted], I purchased a brand new Forester.
During my recent annual inspection, my mechanic noticed excessive rust on the underbody of the car, which is unusual for a vehicle of its age.
I visited Ruge Motors, a local Subaru dealer, for further evaluation. Subaru mechanics inspected the car, and I have attached photos of the rust.
Subaru has a stellar reputation to uphold, and the level of rust on my nearly new car is disappointing.
I believe Subaru should take responsibility for properly rustproofing the undercarriage and consider extending my warranty due to this premature rust issue.
Given the circumstances, I am hoping that Subaru would consider offering me a replacement Forester.

I've been a loyal Subaru customer since purchasing my first Forester in ****. With my trusted mechanic's help, I drove over ***,*** miles in that Subaru. After buying a new Forester in ****, during yesterday's annual inspection, my mechanic noticed excessive rust on the underbody, unusual for a nearly new car. I visited Ruge Motors, a local Subaru dealer, for a second opinion. Their Subaru mechanic confirmed the issue, and I've attached photos as evidence. Subaru's reputation is at stake here, as this level of rust on a new vehicle is unacceptable. I believe Subaru should improve rustproofing and consider extending warranties in cases like mine. Given the condition of my car, I feel entitled to a replacement Forester. I'm eager to hear how Subaru plans to address and resolve this matter.

I own a [redacted] Subaru Legacy that is no longer under warranty. Lately, we've been experiencing a problem with the torque converter which causes the car to stall when braking forcefully, almost causing rear-end collisions three times. Research indicates this is a common issue without a recall. The dealership quoted a $2,[redacted] fix for a non-wearable part. I'm torn between paying for the repair or risking a dangerous accident. Selling the car in this condition is not an option as it poses a potential risk to others.

I've experienced recurring problems with the airbag sensor in my [redacted] Forester. Despite multiple dealership visits, the issue persists. Initially, the sensor was replaced, but subsequent visits led to a seat belt latch replacement, allegedly due to a liquid spill I did not cause. Currently, the airbag light stays on regardless of ignition cycling. This presents safety concerns with my leased vehicle scheduled for return in May [redacted]. I need assistance in resolving this recurring safety issue and potentially exiting the lease without penalties.
Thank you, Diana.

Dear Team,
I bought an XV Crosstrek in Germany in [redacted] (VIN: JF2GPACC4D[redacted]) only to realize that it was manufactured in the USA. I am currently experiencing issues with the electrical system, particularly the body control unit, leading to various malfunctions like a defective lighting system, AT OEL TEMP warning light, non-functioning cruise control, and inability to switch the automatic transmission. These are just a few of the known problems. Local SUBARU dealers are attempting to resolve the issue through Japan without success.
Could you please provide me with the necessary data and plans to address these issues and restore the car's functionality? Can I, or a designated SUBARU partner in Germany, purchase replacement units for the faulty components? Additionally, would creating an account under my SUBARU as a German resident be beneficial in this situation?
Thank you for your prompt assistance.
Best regards,
Jasper Eggers

I had two unfortunate incidents at your dealership within six months, and nobody there took any steps to rectify the situation. When I leased a [redacted] Forester in March, I was misinformed by the salesman about installing the winter package later. Months later, I realized it wasn't possible, leading me to return the car and purchase a [redacted] Outback with the package instead. During this recent purchase, I was persuaded to get a 7-year warranty, only to discover during the signing that it was limited by mileage, a detail not previously disclosed. As I drive 15,[redacted] miles annually, the 70,[redacted]-mile restriction poses a problem. Despite my complaint about feeling misled, no resolution was offered. I made a $20,[redacted] down payment and expected better service, especially as a repeat customer. Subaru is a brand I value, but customer satisfaction is crucial in any business. Please consider improving customer service to avoid negative feedback in the future.

Dear Subaru team, I am the owner of a [redacted] Impreza WRX, and all my oil changes have been done at Subaru (Alyemni Motors Co.). The last engine oil change was on 9/10/[redacted], and the car was running perfectly. However, last Wednesday, while driving, I heard a strange sound coming from the engine. I immediately stopped the car and had it towed to the company. They informed me that there is an engine failure. I am shocked because my car has only [redacted],[redacted] KM on it, and they were the last ones to change the oil. I believe they might be responsible for this issue. The car was running fine with no overheating prior to this incident. There have been other mistakes in their services as well. I urge Subaru to evaluate the services for owners in Saudi Arabia to understand the quality provided. Car body number JF1VA11L7FG003551. Location: Saudi Arabia, Jeddah, Alyemni Motors Co. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

The button on my gear shifter broke after only having the car for 2 months. I purchased the car used, and it's only a year old. Despite taking it to the dealership, they mentioned it's not covered by warranty, implying I must have caused the issue. Even after speaking with the salesman who sold me the car, I didn't receive any help. He suggested reaching out to Subaru to file a complaint and request more durable parts. As a member of the Military, I plan on spreading the word to avoid buying Subaru due to their poor customer service and lack of assistance.

Purchased a [redacted] Forester at the Smithtown dealership. Initially wanted to buy a '17 model, but was informed the car had a recall due to a seat problem. Ended up purchasing the '18 at a higher price, but shortly after, the seat belt warning light started causing issues. Find it unsafe as I had to lean over to secure the belt while driving. Dealer mentioned the parts for the repair are unavailable, stating they prioritize older models like '17 and '16. Frustrated that my newer car can't be fixed promptly due to their policy. Requesting for my new Subaru to be serviced without delays caused by prioritizing older models. I just want to enjoy my new car without any safety concerns. Thank you, Vincent G.

My [redacted] Outback experienced system failures on 11/11/19, and I still don't have my car back. The airbags did not deploy, and both the Driver Assist and Eyesight features failed when I hit another car. I believe Subaru is responsible for this incident. I have been trying to reach out to Subaru customer service well before 12/03, and I believe someone from their team should have informed the technician sooner. The Outback's failure had serious consequences as both drivers, including myself and the other driver, were injured. I urgently need a response and resolution to this situation.

I have a [redacted] Outback Limited on lease that will expire soon. It has been a reliable car, the best I've ever owned. My only gripe is that the MPG falls short of EPA estimates, averaging 22-24 in mixed driving. While at the dealer for service, I test drove the [redacted] Outback XT. I was excited to experience the new turbo, sleek design, and comfortable seats. However, I was underwhelmed by the digital display's clutter, especially the complex climate control settings. It felt overwhelming, not user-friendly, and potentially unsafe while driving. This issue might lead me to explore other brands when my lease ends. I've discussed this with others who share my views. It appears to be a feature that wasn't thoroughly tested with everyday drivers before launch. Any chance of customizing the display on the XT model? Thank you, JH

I bought a Ford Focus Electric on May 24, [redacted], from Dan Perkins Subaru, but I am not satisfied with the car. It has been returned over four times due to ongoing issues. Subaru has sent it to Stevens Ford for troubleshooting more than three times, and it is there now. The problem doesn't seem to be getting resolved. I am wondering why I can't exchange the car for another one without having to go through the entire purchase process again. This car has been problematic since day one. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

After getting the recall service done at Irvine Subaru on 12/11/[redacted], I noticed that my passenger side back wheel cover was missing. This is the third time this has happened to me after service at Irvine Subaru. It's frustrating to have to go back to the dealer and waste time because of such minor oversights. The staff at Irvine Subaru seem to brush it off, saying that these things happen often. As a customer, I expect the work to be done without any mistakes to ensure my satisfaction. It's disappointing that these issues occur at a professional establishment like Irvine Subaru. I hope they pay more attention to detail in their work in the future to prevent such incidents. Thank you.

It was towed to Glendale Subaru in Los Angeles, CA. My question is, does Subaru offer transportation service to move the car from Glendale Subaru to any Subaru location in San Diego, CA? I'm having trouble getting my car set up with the MySubaru and Starlink Apps. Upon entering my VIN, an error message appears instructing me to contact customer service. After reviewing the FAQ on their website, I learned that this issue can occur when a vehicle is purchased from a private sale or a non-Subaru dealership, as the VIN may not be assigned in the same manner as direct purchases from Subaru. I purchased my car earlier this year through a private sale, which I suspect is causing the problem. I believe I need assistance from a customer service representative to resolve this so I can complete the setup process for my car and the apps. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in advance.
