I recently stayed at Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, VA, booked through Reservation.Com - Expedia. The rate advertised was $[redacted], but I was charged close to $[redacted]. Trying to contact the hotel is difficult as nobody answers the phone promptly, and I found out they do not have a GM. Even after several attempts, I couldn't speak to a front desk person or manager directly. Booking through a third party caused further issues as no one at the hotel helped address my concerns about the rate discrepancy or provide a room receipt. The overall experience was disappointing, especially considering the communication challenges. Despite the hotel being full and no Covid-19 related excuses, the level of customer service was lacking. As an alum of JMU, I won't be staying there again and feel compelled to warn others about the service issues at Stash Hotels.
