I experienced a frightening incident when a large bottle of President's Choice extra virgin olive oil exploded in my kitchen last Sunday afternoon. This unexpected event created a messy and challenging cleanup situation. Thankfully, no one in my family was present in the kitchen at the time of the explosion. The bottle had been stored on the stove next to the knobs for over 15 years without any issues. The oil dripped down the wall behind the stove, leading us to replace the stove outlet due to concerns of oil seeping in. Although I'm unsure of the cause of this explosion, I had placed the bottle on the stove that afternoon after the previous bottle ran out. The burst bottle had been sitting in the cupboard for a few weeks before being placed on the stove. Gratefully, no one was harmed in this incident. Thank you, Linda Revie.

I purchased a wok from PC at the store in Kincardine some time ago. I recently used it for the first time after cleaning it but noticed a blackish film coming off around the edges. I cleaned it again, used it once more, and now it's showing signs of rust after cleaning. I'm concerned about what we may have consumed from this wok. This product seems to be of poor quality and should not be intended for cooking use.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the Shoppers Drug Mart located at [redacted] East, Saanich Rd., Saanichton, B.C. I have been informed by several individuals not to patronize this store due to its poor management, inadequate customer service, and lack of inventory. Today, I visited the store myself and unfortunately confirmed these reports. As a 37-year-old Safeway Assistant Manager, I have extensive experience in retail operations and can attest that the shelves were poorly stocked with numerous empty spaces. While I understand that some issues may be due to supply chain constraints, the situation at this store appears to be more severe compared to other Shoppers Drug Mart or Superstore locations. Furthermore, the employees lacked knowledge about the products and their locations within the store. Regrettably, I will not be returning to shop at this location, and it seems many others in the community share this sentiment. It is my opinion that the store owner/manager may not be sufficiently invested in ensuring their staff receive adequate training and that shelves are adequately stocked. Thank you. - Richard B.

This morning, I wanted to bake a decadent chocolate cake for my granddaughter's 13th birthday. I was disappointed with the cake mix. The batter was not enough to fill the recommended pan halfway, resulting in a thin layer of cake after baking. The texture was more like a thick crepe than a cake, despite the mix being expensive. I had hoped this special cake would cheer up my granddaughter, who is dealing with health issues and finding food less enjoyable due to her medications. Unfortunately, the cake turned out dry and not as expected. I wanted to share my disappointment as my family usually enjoys this brand's products, but this experience fell short.

I'm a big fan of PC products. I transitioned to a vegan diet in [redacted] and love exploring new plant-based options. I recently tried the Mozzarella-Style slices for sandwiches and burgers. Unfortunately, I struggled to separate the slices without them breaking. I even tried using a knife to no avail, ending up cutting through them. I suggest adding paper separations or starch dusting to prevent this issue. Perhaps it was just this particular batch, as I couldn't find the best before date except for U130429 on the front, which I think expired around mid-August. I have a concern regarding the lack of information about the origin of some of your products. I recently purchased PC Organics Organic Long Grain Brown Rice and have been unsuccessful in finding out where it is grown despite reaching out to customer service and store managers. The packaging should clearly indicate the country where the rice is produced such as China, Pakistan, India, or the USA. I have contacted the Canadian Food Inspection Agency who confirmed that food products should clearly state their origin. Please address this issue promptly and provide me with the necessary information about the specific product. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I have been a loyal buyer of President's Choice Gourmet Decaffeinated Coffee for years. Last night, while using one of the pods, it unexpectedly broke in my Keurig machine. This resulted in a significant mess with coffee spilling all over. It took multiple rounds of water to clean up the grounds from the cup and inside the machine. This has never happened before, and I have not encountered this issue with other brands like Keurig Starbucks pods.
The Best Before date on the bottom of the CLUB SIZE box is [redacted] Feb 26. I have a photo of the broken pod available if needed.

Hello,
I recently made a purchase of your Gourmet Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee after a long break from buying it. I had been away from town for a while and just got back. I found the coffee at MAXI store in Chomedey Laval Quebec for $14.99 for a 907g package. I have always enjoyed this coffee, but I was surprised by the new packaging. Previously, it used to come in "zip" bags that could be resealed after opening, but now it comes in boxes that cannot be properly closed again. The new box has a "hard" paper lid, but it doesn't seal well, and due to the softness of the box, holding it causes the lid to open and spill the coffee beans. I suggest considering a different packaging that is more practical. Thank you for your attention, and I await your response.

To the concerned party, I purchased a bag of California Pistachios from a Loblaws location. As I began to enjoy the pistachios, I discovered a bug that had died inside one of the shells, potentially leaving behind eggs or feces. This was extremely disturbing as I had already consumed some of the product, making me feel nauseous at the thought. I have photos of the insect inside the shell, showing the eggs or feces on the other side, and I have kept the bag where it was found. Is this a common occurrence with your pistachio bags? If so, it should be disclosed on the packaging. I would appreciate it if this could be investigated to confirm if it is indeed eggs or feces, both of which are unacceptable in your products. I have contacted the store, but they require a receipt which I no longer have. I am now reaching out to PC to address this issue.

Hello, I recently tried the plant-based apple crumble, and it was delicious. However, I noticed that sugar is listed as one of the ingredients. Typically, sugar refined with animal bone char is not considered vegan. Therefore, I would like to confirm if the sugar used in this product is indeed plant-based. Usually, vegan sugars are labeled as unrefined or raw, and this information is not specified on the ingredients list. I would appreciate clarity on whether this product is [redacted]% plant-based. I bought 2 bottles of PC Butter Chicken Sauce, but when I used it, it wasn't what I expected. The sauce was a dark reddish color, not the creamy orange of butter chicken. It turned out to be spicier, more like Korma, and unfortunately, my kids couldn't eat it. I think there may have been a mix-up with the labeling or an issue with the sauce itself. I can provide pictures of the empty bottle and the cooked curry for reference. I was really let down that our meal did not turn out as planned.

I am a huge fan of President's Choice Raspberry Thriller tea. It's the only brand I drink, and I tend to buy several boxes at a time. Lately, I've been experiencing issues with the individual tea bags where they either stick to the packaging or have holes, causing the tea leaves to spill out. This has been happening with multiple tea bags from a package with a best before date of 2024FE172D. I'm disappointed as I had to discard many tea bags due to this problem. Unfortunately, I don't have the receipt to return them to the store, but I wanted to bring this to the attention of the packaging team. I hope this feedback helps improve the quality control of the product. Thank you for your time.

We own a collection of 6 blue mixing bowls from PC (President's Choice) of various sizes that can be stacked. Each bowl includes a matching white/clear plastic lid. Recently, the lid for the largest bowl is not closing properly. We are interested in obtaining just a replacement lid for this bowl rather than purchasing a whole new set. We are also open to purchasing a set of lids only if available. We do not have any product identification details for the bowls as they were bought approximately 5 years ago. My name is Julie Snow from Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. During the recent fire in Barrington, I had to evacuate with my pets and important belongings on short notice. We were away for 12 days and faced challenges with packing and leaving some of my belongings and dear items behind. Upon return, I found out that the frozen meat I took from the 46-foot trailer at the arena was four years old, dated back to [redacted]. This caused frustration and disappointment as we had to discard the outdated meat. I am seeking an explanation from Loblaws, PC, or Nofrills for sending such old meat to our area during a distressing time. I have evidence of the dates on the meat packaging. I purchased an insulated grocery bag from Real Canadian Super Store, made by President's Choice. Unfortunately, the strap broke on only the second use. I've had the bag for two weeks, but I do not have the receipt. Upon examining the bag, I noticed the poor quality of its construction and how loosely the straps were sewn on. Despite my previous trust in the PC brand, this experience has made me question their products.

I was contacted by someone from an agency investigating unauthorized transactions. I still have $[redacted] that has not been returned to my account. He mentioned needing to see the unauthorized transaction and inadvertently withdrew $[redacted] through an e-transfer. I have attempted to delete the e-transfer without success.
