I recently received my first bill from Amer. Water after they acquired our local water company in Turbotville, PA. My previous bills indicated an average monthly water usage of about [redacted] gallons for my wife and me in our retirement. However, our new bill claims we used 33,[redacted] gallons last month, with a daily usage of 1,[redacted] gallons. When we contacted Amer. Water, they suggested we might have a leak or left a hose running, which we didn't. This seems incredibly high to us, and we are very concerned. We need assistance in resolving this discrepancy as it appears there may be an error. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Samuel Cadora, and I am a 50-year-old legally blind disabled individual living on a fixed income, receiving a monthly social security check. Pennsylvania American Water Company's handling of my utility bills has left me feeling shamed and harassed. Despite my efforts to manage my expenses, I struggle to make ends meet each month, often having to prioritize which utility to pay. The company's practice of sending shut off notices via certified mail, plastering them on my apartment building, and bombarding me with threatening phone calls has caused me distress. While I understand the importance of timely bill payments, my financial constraints make it challenging. I participate in the liewap program to aid with bill payments and have seen improvements, yet the constant reminders from Pennsylvania American Water only add to my anxiety. I urge for this harassment to cease, as I pay what I can when possible and do not need the added pressure. Please consider my situation and respect my efforts to manage my bills. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Samuel Cadora
