I signed up with Orangutan originally. The agreements I made were not honored. Service was supposed to be included, but Monitronics wanted me to pay for it. The product never worked, and I can't afford more service. I am on Social Security and feel scammed. I'm paying for a non-functional service I can't afford. Monitronics breached the contract by not providing agreed service. A representative promised to email me about cancellation but did not follow through. I now have Ring Security but need Monitronics gone. Do I need legal action to resolve this?

I had a Monitronics Security System installed at 5 Berkshire Drive, St. Charles, MO starting February 11, [redacted]. I sold that property in [redacted] upon relocating to Alabama. The $49.99 monthly service fee was deducted from my bank account automatically. I notified Monitronics about the move via phone and mail and did not receive any bills from them since then. My credit score was [redacted] until recently when Mountain Run Collections Co. contacted me claiming I owe nearly $[redacted] on my Monitronics account and damaged my credit score, hindering my mortgage refinancing plans. I urge you to look into my past Monitronics contract and rectify this error promptly. Being 77 and recovering from COVID-19, this issue is distressing for me. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I am Lynda Jeanne Douglas. I had a Monotronics Service account that started on 2/11/[redacted] for my home at 5 Berkshire Dr. St. Charles, MO. I canceled this service by writing and calling Monotronics when I moved to Alabama in [redacted]. I never received any bills or notices from Monotronics over the years. Suddenly, 3 months ago, a negative report appeared on all 3 major credit bureaus from Mountain Run Collections Co., who acquired the bill from Monotronics. Despite my requests, Mountain Run has not provided any evidence of what Monotronics gave them. This negative report has significantly damaged my credit rating, dropping it from [redacted] to [redacted]. With plans to refinance my Alabama home mortgage, this low rating is now posing a problem. I am 77 years old, a widow, and recently recovered from covid. I believe this is a serious mistake that is causing me great distress. Kindly investigate my Monotronics account and provide me with any details on why this was reported many years later without any prior bills or evidence. Thank you, Lynda Jeanne Douglas.

I am having difficulty canceling my Brinks Home Security service. When I called [redacted], I was informed that the agents do not have the authority to cancel extended contracts. I am unable to find a contact address for Monitronics corporate to reach someone who can assist me. I am currently stuck with a monthly fee of approximately $35 for the next 34 months for a service I no longer use, and I am unable to get in touch with anyone who can resolve this issue.

I received an invoice from TCI Mobility Inc. today, despite cancelling our service on February 7, [redacted]. I promptly called to inform them of the cancellation and refused to pay the bill. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for the representative's name. She questioned me and mentioned that Monitronics had attempted to contact us with no success due to an incorrect number. She insisted the account was active, which was frustrating. I disagreed, ended the call, and did not want to continue the unproductive conversation. We have settled all dues and do not owe anything.
