If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
I am extremely frustrated with this company. I subscribed to the newspaper in January, but it has never been delivered to me, despite numerous calls and emails. I paid $20 upfront, have a canceled check as proof, and even have phone records showing the long wait times to speak with customer service. After cancelling my subscription, I received a check for $11.81, which is insulting considering I never received the paper. I want a full refund of $20 and perhaps a year of free delivery for all the inconvenience caused. I prefer the physical newspaper over reading it online. I hope for a swift response as I am tired of dealing with this issue. Thank you.

The delivery service for our newspaper is top-notch. Unfortunately, there's an issue with oil stains from the delivery person's vehicle on our driveway. I've observed over fifty noticeable spots in a small area of about 3x5 feet. These stains seem to have accumulated over many months and are unsightly. We need a resolution. It's crucial that the spots are cleaned, and the oil dripping needs to be addressed. Would it be possible to ask the delivery person to repair their oil leak and avoid using our [redacted]+ foot driveway? While the delivery service itself is excellent, we can't have our driveway stained daily until it's completely covered. For the existing oil stains, we will need someone to remove them or hire a professional service. Any suggestions on how to proceed would be appreciated.

We recently allowed our annual subscription to lapse as we debated renewing. The paper delivery consistently lands in the snowbank and ditch by our driveway. While we acknowledge our mailbox setup might not be ideal, we kindly request the paper be placed on top of the mailbox or in the driveway for easier access. The paper is always well-packaged and arrives on time, excluding a few instances. The pattern suggests the daily driver swiftly tosses the paper from the vehicle, leading to it landing in inconvenient spots. We noticed the Sunday paper is placed in the mailbox slot, proving it can be done. We opted to renew our subscription today, hoping this issue can be addressed. The delivery timing is excellent, so that is not the concern. We wonder if the driver is aware we did not tip during the holidays, as we typically acknowledge good service. We appreciate your attention to this matter.

I previously mentioned my frustration with the Star Tribune for not publishing my comments on their online articles. This happened again today on an article regarding Tim Walz requesting $700k for expanded staffing. I feel that the newspaper only chooses to display comments that align with their liberal viewpoint or those that involve disrespectful interactions between users. Despite providing details in a previous complaint, the Star Tribune has not addressed the issue. Not only am I concerned about the evident liberal bias in their reporting as a conservative reader seeking balanced news, but I am also disheartened by my voice not being heard. With my subscription renewal approaching, I am weary of the Star Tribune stifling my opinions and funding content that criticizes my elected representatives.

This year, our newspaper delivery has been inconsistent, with papers landing all over the place and even the Sunday paper ending up on the sidewalk in front of our house instead of on the top step where we've requested. It seems the delivery person may be throwing them from a moving vehicle. This situation is causing significant difficulty for my elderly husband and me due to our mobility issues. We've reached out to Conrad Anderson via email multiple times, but have not received any responses and the problem persists. As long-standing daily subscribers, we are contemplating canceling our subscription as it seems like your company lacks control over irresponsible carriers. Couriers like mailmen, FedEx, or UPS always deliver with care, placing items respectfully at the door or in the mailbox. We urge you to address this issue promptly. The lack of a customer service email further reflects poorly on your customer care approach. Please demonstrate accountability and improve the delivery service.

I did not receive my Sunday paper on May 5, [redacted], as expected. Despite leaving multiple messages throughout the day via the automated system, the paper never arrived. This has occurred multiple times this year, leading to frustration and consideration of discontinuing delivery. I am unable to contact my carrier, making it seem like a mystery. The previous delivery person was exceptional; I would find my paper on time at the top of the driveway. The current experience is inconsistent, with papers often at the bottom of the driveway, inadequately wrapped and wet. As a former delivery person myself, I know the importance of reliable service. I love the Sunday paper but the unreliable delivery is disheartening. I hope my feedback helps improve the service. Thank you for allowing me to share my frustrations. - Rick Olson, loyal customer from Eagan, MN.

I want to share my experience regarding John Clark Donahue, a man who unfortunately caused harm in the past, and thankfully, is no longer alive. I believe he was a negative influence and affected the reputation of Theodor Geisel, a renowned children's book author. Despite living in a house behind the theater, Donahue's actions were far from admirable. He took advantage of young boys who aspired to pursue successful careers, leading to shattered dreams. Sadly, the Children's Theater of Minneapolis became associated with inappropriate behavior and mistreatment. As a former student back in [redacted], I recall the distressing environment. It is my sincere hope that no one else will have to endure the same challenges that were present at the Children's Theater during that time.

I subscribed to your newspaper in early [redacted] for three-day-a-week physical delivery to my apartment at [redacted] East 4th Street, Apt [redacted] in Winona, MN [redacted]. Despite numerous calls to customer service, I never received a copy due to the building being secure. The district manager mentioned sending a $54 refund about a year ago, which I have not yet received. Please send another check to my new address at [redacted] West Broadway Street, Apt [redacted], Winona, MN [redacted]. Thank you. - Bob D.

I have been a long-term customer of the Star Tribune, and this year our Saturday delivery service has been consistently poor. While other days are generally fine, Saturdays have been problematic with multiple missed deliveries. I have reported these issues over the phone several times, but despite requesting redelivery each time, the newspaper has never been delivered. I have decided to stop reporting the missed papers as it has not been effective. I suspect that the Saturday delivery person may be different from the rest of the week. Going forward, I would like to be charged only for six days rather than all seven, given the ongoing problem. I have already paid for a year in advance, and if this issue persists, I may consider cancelling my subscription and requesting a refund. I have noticed that my neighbors receive their Saturday paper, so I believe there must be a specific issue with my delivery. My address is [redacted] Vista Ridge Lane, Shakopee.

We have been consistently encountering issues with our newspaper delivery for a few months now. The newspaper is often not delivered or just left at the end of our driveway instead of being placed in our delivery box. We've contacted the Tribune multiple times to address the problem, but it continues.
We specifically have a delivery box, and it's important for us that the paper is placed there because having to pick it up from the driveway is inconvenient, especially when we're leaving or out of town. The problem seems to be mainly with the Saturday and Sunday papers despite our requests for the carrier to place it in the box.
I reached out to Justin, the route manager, via email on 10/07/19, providing our address, but unfortunately, I did not receive a response. On 10/12/19, the paper was again on the ground instead of in the box. I'm hoping for a resolution to this ongoing issue.

I contacted customer service to address our concerns about the delivery service. We are both in our 80's and find it challenging to retrieve the paper thrown at the end of our 40 ft driveway. It used to be delivered to our door, which was convenient for us. Despite our requests, the delivery person consistently leaves the paper at the bottom of the driveway, sometimes landing in our neighbor's yard. He services only four homes and driving up to our door would only take a few seconds. We live in a cul de sac, and his method of delivery seems unnecessary. After speaking with customer service, the delivery improved briefly but then reverted to the previous practice. This has been an ongoing issue for the past three months, and we are disappointed with the lack of consideration. As senior citizens with health concerns, this delivery method poses a risk for us. We hope our feedback will be taken seriously for our convenience and safety.

I reside at [redacted] 55th Avenue North in Crystal, MN, which is a 55-and-over community. The previous carrier used to write our apartment numbers on the papers, but we have a resident who kindly delivers them to our doors to prevent non-subscribers from taking them. I kindly request that the new carrier be informed about this arrangement to avoid any unauthorized access to the newspapers. Your assistance in addressing this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My name is Ann Ruud, and I'm writing this on behalf of my mother, Pat Hoben, who is unable to tend to this matter due to her medical condition. Pat, who is 76 years old and recently broke her hip, has been consistently calling about the failure to have her Star Tribune paper delivered to the box just outside her home in Blaine, MN. Despite her physical limitations, the paper has not been reaching her as requested for about two months now. Pat has diligently reported the issue, only to be reassured by agents that they are working on it without any tangible results. She has requested to speak with a supervisor or manager for further assistance but has been informed that none are available. This lack of accommodation for her physical challenges is disappointing, and she hopes for a speedy resolution and a reliable delivery service moving forward.

I am seeking a consistent newspaper delivery service as I've experienced repeated delays. Despite numerous calls for improvement, the problem persists. Recently, on Sunday at 8:15 am, my paper did not arrive, while my neighbors received theirs on time. In a bid to stop the delivery person, I chased after them, but they drove off. Normally, the paper should be here by 6:30 am, but it often arrives late, sometimes by 8:30 am. Interestingly, substitute delivery persons are punctual. Although I report the lateness, the issue remains unresolved even after promises to inform the district manager. We have been loyal subscribers for over 50 years at different addresses and appreciate the paper once it's delivered. I believe there is room for improvement in your delivery service to ensure timely and consistent newspaper distribution. Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Dear Customer Service,
I have been on hold for nearly an hour now, hoping to speak with someone regarding the ongoing issues with my newspaper delivery. Over the past three weeks, I have only received six papers instead of the expected eighteen. Despite multiple promises of a credit to my account and notifications to the delivery person, the problem persists.
I am frustrated by the lack of resolution and the extensive time wasted on hold. I intend to request a full refund for the undelivered papers once I am able to reach a customer service representative. This level of service is unacceptable and does not align with the standards advertised by Star & Tribune.
I urge you to address these delivery issues promptly and efficiently to prevent further dissatisfaction among your customers.
Thank you.

I have contacted customer service multiple times in the past few weeks regarding the non-delivery of the Sunday paper. Despite assurances that the depot supervisor will be notified, I have yet to receive the paper. My sister, a former depot supervisor, mentioned that if a carrier failed to deliver, the supervisor should ensure the paper is delivered even if they have to do it themselves. This has not been the case, and I am frustrated with the ongoing issue. Please address this promptly. The delivery address is [redacted] Orion Lane, Eagan, MN [redacted], and the subscriber's name is Marcia Martin.

I am seeking an explanation as to why our carrier frequently runs out of newspapers, resulting in the last few houses on our block not receiving one. Despite observing the carrier delivering papers, including assisting elderly neighbors, upon my return, my neighbor and I are without papers. We are at the delivery route's end. Despite my calls to request the missing paper, it's not delivered, only a promise of a credit. I prefer receiving the paper I paid for instead of a credit as I pay in advance. The lack of evidence of the credited weeks on my bill makes me feel like the company is withholding from me. The routine inconvenience of reporting this issue is exhausting, especially considering the emotional value the paper holds for me as a companion following my husband and daughter's passing, making its absence particularly hard to bear.

I have been a Star Tribune customer for 9 years. I have enjoyed receiving the paper every Sunday. My previous delivery person, Bruce, was excellent, always leaving the paper near my door. However, in the past few months, the delivery service has been poor. For three weeks, I did not receive the Sunday paper, and now it is being left at the end of my driveway and even in the street, as documented in photos I have. On the contrary, my neighbor across the street has her paper delivered closer to her door. I am concerned about the upcoming winter and having to search for my paper in the snow. I am unsure of what steps to take to ensure my paper is delivered to my door. Should I cancel my subscription, offer a generous tip, or is there another solution to this problem? I would appreciate assistance with this matter.

I have attempted to get in touch via email and phone numerous times about a delivery issue. The individual at [redacted] Kellogg Ave. in Edina, MN faces difficulties getting the paper due to using a walker. The carrier seems lazy, tossing the paper from the car instead of delivering it closer or to the doorstep. I had a conversation with him about it, but it seems he may struggle with English. Our driveway is long, resulting in a soaked paper during rainy weather. Despite my efforts, the problem persists, and if it's not resolved, I will cancel the weekend paper service. While the weekday carrier is satisfactory, the weekend one is not up to par. It's frustrating that they remember to request Christmas gifts but not ensure proper delivery. I urge you to address this issue with the carrier promptly. Thank you, Thomas and Joan Stern

I reside at [redacted] Westview Dr, Farmington, MN, [redacted]. Our two delivery persons differ in service quality. The weekday delivery person performs well by placing the paper on our porch. However, the weekend delivery individual lacks reliability, often throwing the paper into the street instead of the driveway. This causes issues during rain or snow, as the paper can be lost or inaccessible. Despite complaints and requests for improvement, the situation has not changed. I offer a $20 tip each pay period and request that the weekend delivery person does not receive any of it. If consistent service cannot be guaranteed on weekends, we may need to discontinue the service. As senior citizens with health concerns and limited mobility, navigating slippery surfaces is challenging for us. We hope the Tribune can address this issue promptly by assigning a more dependable delivery person.
