For many years, I have been a loyal customer of Meijers for both prescriptions and groceries. Lately, I have noticed a steady increase in prices across various items at Meijers. This has prompted me to explore alternative options for my shopping needs. Here is a recent price comparison I made between Meijers and Krogers:
Meijers:
- 5 lbs King Arthur’s Bread flour: $8.19
- Keebler’s chocolate coated Graham: $2.50
- 2% milk: $1.79
- Coke 24 pk. 12 oz cans: $6.00+
Krogers:
- 5 lbs King Arthur’s Bread flour: $5.17
- Keebler’s chocolate coated Graham: $1.79
- 2% milk: $1.19
- Coke 24 pk. 12 oz cans: $4.99
It seems like Meijers may not be price-checking effectively at the Midland store. Additionally, I have noticed a decline in the quality of produce compared to other supermarkets. I purchased 2 bags of black cherries that looked appealing but lacked flavor. This has been a common issue with other produce items at Meijers. Due to these reasons, I am considering reducing my future purchases at Meijers. Sincerely, Phil Johnson

I recently had a negative experience at Meijer on Columbia Ave in Battle Creek, MI. I have been a loyal customer for 8 years and have never experienced such poor customer service. My interaction with employee Angi C. at lane 15 was unpleasant. She was unhelpful and spoke to me rudely, accusing me of things I did not do. Despite addressing the issue with her manager, the situation repeated during my recent visit. Angi's behavior towards me was inappropriate, refusing to assist me and making discriminatory remarks. I was left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. Meijer must address this issue seriously, as I do not wish to encounter Angi during future visits. As a restaurant owner myself, I understand the importance of treating customers with respect. I have already spoken to the on-duty manager, who provided a gift card as compensation, but what I truly seek is a positive shopping experience devoid of mistreatment. If Meijer fails to resolve this matter, I will escalate it further.

I am reaching out to highlight issues at your Warsaw, IN store compared to other Meijer locations. The problem lies in the checkout process. Despite a good selection and shopping experience, there are insufficient open check-out lanes, including self-checkouts. This leads to having to use self-checkouts even with a large number of items. Unlike Wal-mart, the self-checkouts lack handheld scanners making it inconvenient, with frequent malfunctions and a lack of flow due to few staff assisting all lanes. While I understand the employees are trying their best, this consistent problem may lead me to shop more at Wal-mart, Martins, or Kroger in Warsaw. It's a shame because this store used to excel in all areas, but the checkout experience is now consistently challenging.

I adore Meijer pickles, specifically the Spicy Maple Bourbon, Mango Habanero, and Chipotle Pickle chips with Agave Syrup. Lately, I have been unable to find them at the Traverse City and Acme stores. After speaking with the managers, I was informed that these products have possibly been discontinued, leaving me unsure if they will return. I would like to reach out to someone at corporate headquarters who has information about the availability of these delightful pickles in the future, especially the Spicy Maple Bourbon which is my favorite.

Please return my call at [redacted] as there was no assistance for disabled customers at night. I believe I left around $[redacted] at the self-checkout due to the staff's inability to multitask effectively. I might buy online from Walmart and have a friend pick it up. I chose not to shop at Meijer today. I shop at night to avoid crowds due to my health conditions from serving in the USAF for nearly thirty years. With multiple myeloma and injuries, lifting is prohibited as my bones may not heal properly. The night manager at Meijer needs a refresher on customer care. Thank you, Lisa Wilson [redacted].

As a loyal 40-year Meijer customer with 35 years of retail experience, I wanted to share my recent experience at the Three Rivers location. During my visit on 9/8 at 11:00am, I observed several issues that need attention:
- The Bottle Return Area was dirty and emitted a foul odor. It appeared not to have been cleaned thoroughly in a long time.
- The waste basket for plastic shopping bags was overflowing at the entrance, creating a mess.
- The men's restroom had out-of-order signs on the urinals and a non-functional sink faucet. The cleanliness of the restroom was also lacking.
- The Deli Department floor seemed neglected, lacking recent sweeping or mopping.
Additionally, I noticed trash and debris accumulating outside the store, indicating a lack of maintenance.
While I understand this may be an older store, I believe it should still meet Meijer's high cleanliness standards. I recommend sending a management representative to assess the situation and consider implementing a thorough cleaning effort to bring the store up to par.
Thank you,
Frank G.

At the Meijer store in Kokomo, we have noticed a recent change in the placement of the gallon containers of Milos Tea to the very top shelf of the cooler. Many customers, including myself and others like Jim & Linda Bennett, have voiced concerns about the inconvenience of not being able to reach them easily. An employee mentioned that this decision came from Corporate, but it seems counterintuitive to make these items less accessible when they were more conveniently located before. We hope Meijer addresses this issue to make shopping more convenient for all customers.
Sincerely,
Frustrated Customers

Recently, I have been disappointed with the stocking issues at the Grafton, WI Meijer. This marks the third week that I have encountered shelves not being properly stocked. Essential items like Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix, fudge frosting, and even bread were missing. Last week, the avocados I purchased for $4 turned out to be black inside when ripe, and one of the tomatoes rotted within two days. Despite saving over $[redacted] this year by spending around $[redacted] a week at Meijer, I have had numerous quality and service issues. When seeking assistance at the self-checkout, I found the staff chatting and being unhelpful. Even at the customer service counter, I had to interrupt employees talking to address my concerns about the empty shelves. The attitude and lack of attention to detail from the employees were disappointing. I hope that Meijer can improve their stocking, customer service, and quality control to regain my trust as a customer.

On September 18th around 2:30pm CDT in St. Charles, IL, a cashier at your store was disrespectful to my elderly mother and me. After I used the self-checkout, I assisted my mom with her purchase, placing my bags under her cart. The cashier rudely questioned the bags, causing tension. Despite showing her my receipt, she did not apologize. Professional conduct and politeness are essential in customer service. I trust your dedication to addressing this incident to enhance your company's reputation and growth.

Hello, I am reaching out about an experience I had at Meijer Pharmacy on Beckley Road in Battle Creek, MI. I had a prescription called in 6 hours before arriving to pick it up and faced some delays. The pharmacy mentioned it was marked as non-emergency, and although they said it would be ready in 40 minutes, only half of the prescription was prepared with the other half being just one pill. I tried to voice my concerns to the store manager, Mark S., but was informed it was store policy. I expressed my wish to file a formal complaint, but Mark stated he would be the only one to review it, which felt like a conflict of interest. I am inquiring whether it is standard practice to treat prescriptions called in ahead of time as non-emergencies, particularly when I was told it would only take 40 minutes to complete. I appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you.

I have a small service dog with a leg injury, so I place her in the cart with a towel and blanket for protection. However, management has informed me that placing my service dog in the cart is not allowed due to health regulations, OSHA laws, and store policy. I was asked to remove my dog from the cart or leave the store. I am concerned about potential discrimination against individuals with disabilities. My service dog is clearly identified with a vest marked "service dog."

I purchased a Fire Stick in October [redacted] along with an extended warranty. Unfortunately, my Fire Stick remote stopped working on September 27, [redacted]. I called Store [redacted] and spoke with an employee from electronics who advised me to bring it in for a replacement. Upon arriving at the store, I explained the situation to an employee named Nicky at customer service, who was rude. Nicky then brought another employee named JoAnn into the conversation, and after discussing the issue with JoAnn, she agreed to replace it. However, the situation took a turn when Nicky returned with another employee named Shay and they informed me that they couldn't replace it. It seems that the employees at Store [redacted] are not following the correct policies and procedures, making decisions inconsistently.

I am curious as to why the sales specials are not stocked the night before the sale begins. Specifically, I am referring to the specials in the store circular at Meijer. Currently at the store, nothing has been restocked. I had to wait for a very impolite employee in the meat department to check the back for a sale item that was already out of stock on the first day of the sale. Now, I am waiting once again for assistance in the deli department, and another employee was also rude. I have to travel 16 miles to reach the nearest Meijer, while Kroger is only 5 minutes away. After this experience today, my choice seems clear.

Around a year ago, I encountered an employee named Anne Bradley who has been causing issues for me. She falsely accused me of stealing and harassment, and has turned others against me in the store. Despite my exercising once a day, she criticized me for not losing enough weight. Now, store employees are accusing me of shoplifting and the managers are keeping reports on me based on false claims. Anne Bradley's behavior has led to hostility towards me from certain employees. I am looking to file complaints against Tammy, the girl with blonde hair and glasses, the man, and Anne Bradley for the trouble they have caused.

I felt mistreated at the Gaylord, MI store on Saturday. I had a cart full of groceries and tried to use my husband's Meijer card, as we occasionally do in emergencies. The staff member, I believe her name was Trudy, accused me of potentially being a scammer. It was hurtful to be treated this way, especially since I was genuinely using the card for necessities while my husband was away. We've been married for 38 years and have never encountered such suspicion. The experience was upsetting, and I do not plan to return to that store due to the rude treatment I received from both the employee and managers.

On Friday, October 11, [redacted], I had a fall at the Perryville Road Meijer store. While reaching for dressing at the deli, my leg got caught on a sign causing me to fall. Although no employees came to assist, two customers helped me up. An employee eventually brought a caution sign as the dressing spilled. A female deli employee checked on me, but the store manager showed no concern when I called later. I mentioned my disappointment that no one helped me during the fall and the manager's lack of concern on the call. I sustained injuries to both knees and pulled a muscle in my shoulder. I hope this is not a common occurrence for your staff.

I wanted to share my experience at Meijer in Portage Indiana. The store seems to have issues with expired products and poor restocking practices. I used to shop at the Indianapolis avenue location and was initially excited when it became a Meijer, but now I believe it was better as a Super K store. I have encountered expired items like garlic bread spread and lettuce multiple times. Recently, the Seapac clam strips were on sale, but the 12 oz. packs were never restocked after Sunday, only the 7 oz. packs were available. Despite checking daily, the larger packs never reappeared until after the sale ended. I attempted to get a rain check but was informed they were not offered. This experience has left me frustrated, and I hope Meijer can improve their stocking practices and customer service at the Portage location.

I appreciate the selection at the Meijer store in Sturgis, MI, but I have noticed a recurring issue with staffing in the deli department. On multiple occasions, I have visited and found no one available to assist customers. Today, after three attempts, I encountered an older lady working with rotisserie chickens who had to call someone from the back. Unfortunately, the individual who came out was quite rude and seemed unfamiliar with the products. She even admitted to not eating meat, which was concerning given her role in the deli.
In the past, I have witnessed other customers leaving due to the lack of staff in the deli. I believe implementing a bell system or a numbering system like other busy delis do could help improve customer service in this area. Considering the variety of items available in the deli case, it surprises me that there isn't consistent staffing to assist customers.

I have a disability and have spent over three hours attempting to order groceries for my husband to pick up. The website keeps logging me out, clearing my cart, and when I finally manage to complete the order, there are no available pickup times tonight. The website freezes whenever I try to do anything. My husband had to go shopping now because of this. This is a recurring issue whenever I try to shop on meijer.com, and the app is even worse. We've had enough of shopping at Meijer. It's frustrating to experience these technical difficulties repeatedly. I have high-quality equipment and fast internet, so the problem is not on my end. The website needs improvement and better servers.
