I have a flawless payment history as a long-time member. Last January, my credit card was renewed, and I promptly updated the information with LA Fitness when they contacted me. Despite this, my credit rating (R4) has been adversely affected as I am in the process of renewing my mortgage. I'm frustrated with this situation. Today alone, I have called my LA Fitness branch six times, requesting to speak with a manager, but I have been told repeatedly that someone will call me back. It has been 10 hours, and not a single callback has occurred. I believe it's unfair that my credit status has been impacted when I have not missed a payment. I urgently need this matter resolved and my credit score restored promptly.

Unfortunately, my membership got canceled because of a misunderstanding related to my sarcastic humor. I unintentionally offended some younger staff and trainers at the club who didn't understand my jokes and took them literally. I even tried to support a manager in starting her yoga business, but she misinterpreted my intentions. She started provoking me to make inappropriate comments and began documenting and calling me which escalated the situation. This led to exaggerated accusations of harassment and abuse, resulting in me being temporarily expelled from the club.

I worked at LA Fitness Hollywood for two months but have not been compensated for my 24+ hours of work. I only got added to the system on the week of Sept 16 and entered my hours from Aug 12 to Sept 20 during that time upon approval from the fitness director, Joe Borelli. I was informed that payment would be made by October 8, but as of now, I've not received any payment.

I have been using LA Fitness in Chino, California. The facility underwent a remodel last year, and I am pleased with the upkeep. 1. My wife and I are both members, and we start our day at least four times a week with Yoga classes. The Yoga mats we use are in poor condition. More than half of them are old and slippery during practice. Some are torn or broken. While the manager made some changes, it is still essential to address this issue as they pose a safety risk. 2. After the remodeling, the shower heads were replaced with water-saving units. However, almost half of them are not working correctly as the adjustment parts are either too tight or fixed. It is necessary to test and adjust them. 3. The manager explained that they had to cut the shower curtains because people were ripping them. This causes water to spill onto the floor, making it slippery, which is another safety concern. Additionally, when the curtain does not close properly, it wets the towels outside. It is important to address this issue as mentioned on the signs in the area.

I have been an LA Fitness member for almost 9 years, frequenting various locations across the United States. I recently started going to the gym at [redacted] Northlake Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL [redacted]. Unfortunately, this gym does not have Wi-Fi, which I find unacceptable. I am reaching out in the hopes that corporate will address this issue promptly and make Wi-Fi available at this location. Despite many complaints, the lack of action is disappointing. As a paying member, I believe that having Wi-Fi is a reasonable expectation. I trust that this matter will be resolved, or I will escalate it to corporate headquarters. Thank you for your attention to this concern. Best, Oscar M. Email: [redacted]

As a former L.A. Fitness member, I am considering rejoining the franchise. I decided to try out a new location with a 6-day trial pass before making a commitment. I successfully signed up for the trial online and visited the location on a Saturday. The staff confirmed my pass was activated for 6 days. However, when I returned, I encountered a sales representative. I explained I was a former member exploring rejoining, possibly through my health insurance, but wanted to first experience the classes at this new location. Unfortunately, the sales rep seemed more focused on selling me a new membership than ensuring I had a good trial experience. Despite my 30-minute drive to the gym, the sales rep rudely refused to honor my pass, insisting I pay $15 or join as a member. This encounter has soured my interest in recommitting to L.A. Fitness.

I had a disappointing experience at [redacted] Coral Way, Miami, FL [redacted], with the general manager, Carlos Leon. When I tried to address an issue about two exercise machines located next to a sunny window at the gym, I was met with rudeness and humiliation. I politely requested curtains or relocating one machine due to sun exposure, but Mr. Leon dismissively claimed it wouldn't harm me and suggested I bring an umbrella. Despite my respectful approach, his responses were unwarranted and disrespectful. Numerous members share my concerns about broken air conditioning, gym cleanliness, and faulty equipment. I am willing to gather signatures to validate these complaints. This gym desperately needs better management and facilities. I hope someone can address these issues promptly. Thank you for your attention.

My 18-year-old college student, who is currently not employed, was persuaded to sign up for a membership at your facility. He was under the impression that he could pause his membership while he was away at school. Although he joined on August 8th and left for school on August 20th, he was not informed during the sales process or when he called to pause the membership that there would still be ongoing monthly fees. Initially charged $[redacted].80 upon sign-up, he has since been charged $42.59 on 9/13, a $50.00 annual fee on 10/15, and today three more charges (two for $42.59 and one for $5.00). This adds up to a total of $[redacted].76 for a membership he barely used before heading off to school. When I inquired about the charges, the office manager merely pointed out that he signed a contract, failing to address the excessive fees charged. Requesting clarification on the appropriate charges for his situation and expressing our desire to cancel the contract, I was met with resistance and claims that I was being rude. The office manager mentioned the option to cancel at any time or freeze the account for a $10 monthly fee, but refused to acknowledge the erroneous charges. Despite my attempts to rectify the situation, the manager was unhelpful and unwilling to discuss the matter further, insisting that I was rude. I requested to speak to another manager, but was informed that the original salesperson would call me on Monday. Seeking resolution for the unfair charges and lack of assistance, I pressed for immediate action, to no avail. It wasn't until afterwards that I discovered all requests needed to be handled through the website, which was never mentioned during my interaction with the manager. I am perplexed by the discrepancies in the charges, especially since the website indicates a $0 initiation fee for a $39.99 monthly membership. While I acknowledge my son's responsibility to read the contract thoroughly, I question the integrity of LA Fitness in allowing their staff to take advantage of customers in order to make sales. It was irresponsible to enroll him in August, knowing he wouldn't utilize the facility until the following summer. This predatory sales tactic is unacceptable, and I demand a refund for the improper charges to make this situation right.

I visited the Hazel Dell WA location on 10/31 at 8:33 am. The spin class had music playing so loudly that it negatively affected the entire gym. I raised the issue with the instructor, but he dismissed my complaint. I then spoke to the assistant manager who requested the music be turned down. The instructor briefly complied but then raised the volume again. The gym atmosphere was completely ruined when "Highway to Hell" was blaring at a volume similar to a rock concert. It's important to note that I am not the only gym member who was upset by this situation.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for over a year and have been generally satisfied. However, my recent experience at the St Pete, FL location was unacceptable. Yesterday evening, around 6pm, a trainer named Tyler asked me to move from a machine I was using because he had a client. When I explained that I was also a client and needed a few more minutes, he laughed. His friend, Kalee, joined in and told me to move as well. When I requested to speak to a manager, Kalee claimed to be the manager and threatened to have me thrown out. As I finished my workout, another individual either Tyler or someone else, swung a rope at my face. This incident was captured on camera. I felt bullied, insulted, and even physically intimidated. I have filed a police report and await next steps. Please contact me urgently at [redacted]. I am just a 52-year-old attempting to stay in shape. I would like to cancel my membership and put this distressing experience behind me. Thank you for your prompt attention.

During our visit to LA Fitness, we had a disappointing encounter with a white male employee at the front desk. He treated my sister disrespectfully, assumed things without letting her speak, and ultimately asked her to leave. When I spoke to the manager to clarify the situation, she explained the contract but displayed a rude attitude towards us. To make matters worse, the same employee who mistreated my sister was laughing and mocking us with his colleagues. It was not just the manager's behavior that was unacceptable; the staff were also breaking the rules by openly making fun of members. I was given incorrect information about membership fees and was even charged an initiation fee during a promotion where it shouldn't have applied. This entire experience was demeaning and unprofessional. I believe the manager, the disrespectful employee, and their behavior need to be addressed by management. I am requesting a full refund due to the harassment we faced during our visit.

I have been experiencing an issue with LA Fitness where they have been withdrawing an extra $2,[redacted] from my account for the past two years. I have been in contact with Jazmine to try to resolve this, but our numbers don't match up, and she keeps telling me that the manager and VP will reach out to me. I'm frustrated because I haven't heard back from anyone, and when I called, Jazmine put me on hold and hung up on me without calling back. I'm seeking assistance from someone in the corporate office who can provide real answers. Thank you. - Tim O.

I am a member at LA Fitness located at [redacted] N Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL [redacted], and have been for approximately 5 months. Despite initially being drawn to the gym for its professional quality and amenities, I have been increasingly disappointed by the lack of organization. The gym floor is often cluttered with weight plates and dumbbells, posing a safety hazard to all patrons, and some individuals choose to work out shirtless, leading to unsanitary conditions. This reached a peak on 11/5/19 when a fight erupted within the gym, causing fear and discomfort among members. I believe immediate action should be taken to address this issue, including potential membership consequences for those involved in such behavior. I suggest a review and reinforcement of the gym's rules and regulations to prioritize safety and cleanliness.

I recently joined a gym to prepare for knee surgery. I'm 67 and shared my knee troubles, aiming to strengthen my thigh and core. They assigned me a personal trainer, assuming we would focus on the gym circuit, yet she had me do free weight exercises that worsened my knee swelling. She pushed me to purchase additional training packages after I had just bought a basic membership. I only wanted to learn the circuit and work out independently. When I tried to cancel, I was told I'd have to pay for equipment orientation. I find this policy unfair, profit-driven, and unethical. I also cannot afford to lose this money as I'm on a fixed income.

Hello, I’m Clinton P. I recently cancelled my LA Fitness training program in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Oakley location with personal trainer Dylan D, two weeks before it was supposed to start. Despite requesting that my account not be charged and making several unsuccessful attempts to contact Dylan D, my account was still charged. After personally going to the gym to cancel, Dylan D assured me my account wouldn’t be charged, yet it was today. This caused me financial distress as I couldn’t pay my rent. Furthermore, my debit/credit information was associated with a different LA Fitness account. Dylan D mentioned a refund in 3 to 5 business days, but his handling of the situation was disappointing, especially after his initial assurance. Being a 22-year-old student, every dollar counts, and the money taken from my account was essential. Due to this experience, I no longer wish to continue with LA Fitness.

I visited the L.A. Fitness location at [redacted] Mount Zion Road in Morrow, GA today at 10:00 am. After using the sauna, I noticed heavy dirt on the mats and floor that seemed unclean and unsanitary. The room had a bad smell, and another member also expressed dissatisfaction about the cleanliness. I believe the floor and surfaces need thorough cleaning, including stripping, scrubbing, bleaching, and sanitizing. A member mentioned that the janitor did not clean properly, leaving trash behind. This issue was concerning, as it was not something I had encountered at my home site in Toco Hills, North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta. I am Kadesta Malcom, and I can be reached at [redacted] during the week between 7:30 am to 9:30 am or after 6:30 pm. I have pictures to share as well.

I recently joined the gym approximately a month ago. Initially, I was only planning to take a tour, but I ended up signing up for a membership under some pressure. As part of the package, I was offered a free personal training session where further pricing details were discussed, leaving me feeling obligated to proceed despite financial constraints. Given my current situation with my mother battling cancer and being out of work, my financial priorities have shifted. Following this, I submitted cancellations for both my general membership and personal training. However, I later discovered that the membership was for 12 months and cancelling would incur a large fee of $[redacted], which I cannot afford. I am seeking assistance to potentially get some of my money back as I feel misled and unable to fulfill this financial commitment.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, I visited a gym in Warren, MI amidst rainy weather bringing my jacket along. Regrettably, my jacket was stolen at the facility despite acknowledging it wasn't anyone's fault. The issue arose when I spotted a group using my jacket on the basketball court, even placing their belongings inside. Upon taking a photo of the individual's identification, tensions escalated as the person became defensive and their friends intervened aggressively. Despite being threatened, I managed to recover the stolen jacket after confronting the individual at the front desk with evidence. However, the staff's lack of assistance and failure to review security footage marred the experience. Following a heated exchange, the thief returned the jacket after a confrontation, only receiving a mild warning from the staff. Due to the unsettling incident and the inadequate response, I'm unable to continue patronizing the gym and am seeking to cancel my membership without fees. Encountering others with similar theft experiences added to my frustration, leading me to explore alternative gym options.

An employee named Dawanna Allen, highly favored by the members, has been experiencing unfair treatment from management at this Skillman location in Dallas, TX. Her supervisor was informed about the General Manager claiming commission from one of Dawanna's sales, but no action was taken. It appears that these two supervisors are working in collusion against Dawanna, who is well-loved by the members. The front desk supervisor ignored the incident, allowing this theft to occur. These supervisors need to be dismissed for taking advantage of Dawanna and discriminating against her. It's concerning that they seem to target her for her popularity with the members. If necessary, the situation might have to be addressed on social media to protect Dawanna from further mistreatment. Replacements for these supervisors should embody qualities like Dawanna. Thank you.

I had an unpleasant experience today around 12:30 PM at LA Fitness on [redacted] Northern Ave in Phoenix, Arizona. While using the Seated Leg Curl machines, I encountered a member who claimed they were using the one I was at, but it appeared unoccupied. After a confrontation where they got aggressive and made rude remarks, I reported the incident to a staff member. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe due to the member's behavior, creating a hostile environment. I asked for action to be taken to address this issue and mentioned involving the police if needed in the future. I explained my desire for a safe and respectful training environment at the gym.
