I visited the Boca Raton LA Fitness on Bera Casa Way to activate my new membership on November 12, [redacted]. This was my first time in a gym, and I felt overwhelmed by the equipment. I scheduled an appointment for November 14, at 7pm to get guidance, emphasizing that if they had to cancel to call me due to work commitments. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was informed nobody was available to help me, despite being told I was contacted, which I proved wrong by showing my phone. I was disappointed with the manager, Ben's, lack of empathy. He didn't offer to assist me and simply told me someone would call. Now I am hoping for a callback to schedule an appointment for tomorrow. My confidence in the gym’s customer service has been shaken. I am eager to start but need guidance. Thank you, Lisa Shelton.

My family and I joined LA Fitness over a year ago. Due to health issues, I attempted to cancel shortly after signing up, but have been consistently charged despite never using the gym. I was informed I could cancel without a fee, but that my husband would incur charges due to a two-year contract. Despite attempts to resolve this, including speaking to the manager, the charges of $24.99 per month and a $35 annual fee persist. I have been given conflicting information about cancellation fees, leaving me frustrated with the ongoing charges exceeding $[redacted] over the past year. If the issue is not addressed promptly, legal action may be necessary as I have exhausted all attempts to resolve this matter with LA Fitness.

Hello! I had to freeze my LA Fitness account back in March this year due to an injury. My family also put their accounts on hold to take care of me. Recently, when I returned to the gym, I paid a pro-rated fee of $24 as instructed. However, there seems to be a discrepancy as the receptionist mentioned my monthly rate is now $35 instead of the usual $29.99. I've reached out via email to address this issue as the receptionist was unable to explain the changes. I kindly requested to have the matter resolved as I may need to cancel my membership if it's not corrected. Thank you!

My agreement for training services at LA Fitness Oakley, Cincinnati, ended in July [redacted]. However, since then, I have mistakenly been on a monthly payment plan. Despite requesting in early October [redacted] to stop charging my credit card for training services, a $[redacted] withdrawal occurred on October 24, when I was out of the country. Upon realizing this, I contacted Dillon at the Oakley location on or around November 8th to request a refund. He mentioned needing to consult corporate and promised a resolution within 5 to 7 days. It has now been two weeks, and I still haven't received my refund. Despite Dillon's assurance that I won't be billed again, he hasn't provided written confirmation. I've raised a dispute with my credit card company for the October 24 charge. Regrettably, due to the mishandling of this situation and my trainer's departure from LA Fitness, I am planning to formally cancel my Silver Sneaker membership by the month's end.

During our visit to the Burlington North Appleby location, we encountered a rude and unprofessional attendant on December 5th at 8 pm. Unfortunately, her name is unknown, but she is described as a middle-aged black female. My sister was scolded for scanning her card instead of the app, with the attendant stating, "You have to be paying here to workout," in a humiliating manner in front of other customers. Despite being paying members at this location for over 2 years, we faced unnecessary confrontation. Additionally, there was an incident where the attendant made a fuss about me using a guest pass for my father, implying he couldn't use it again due to an expired pass. I am unfamiliar with any policy restricting this as the pass was given by an LA manager. The main concern is not the process itself, but the disrespectful and public way the attendant handled the situation, causing embarrassment and frustration. It would be appreciated if she could receive further training on respectful and discreet customer interactions. This behavior has been noted by other patrons in the past. I hope management addresses this issue promptly as nobody should feel degraded at their gym. Thank you.

My spouse and I became members of LA Fitness back in October. Our preferred location is the Conyers GA facility due to its proximity to our residence. However, we have decided that this will be our final month using the gym. Despite encountering very kind and welcoming staff members, we have observed that the gym is outdated. The limited selection of only 3-4 TV channels, coupled with poor reception on some of the TVs, has been disappointing. Additionally, the free weight area emits an unpleasant odor, contributing to an overall unappealing atmosphere within the gym. It is unclear whether any renovations are scheduled or have already taken place at this gym, but we believe that certain improvements are necessary.

I felt pressured into signing up with a personal trainer even though I expressed concerns about the cost. I was assured that I could cancel anytime, but now I realize it's not that simple. I've been facing financial difficulties and attempting to cancel my training without success. The lack of cooperation and customer service at LA Fitness has been disappointing. I'm frustrated with how the situation has been handled and will be sharing my experience to warn others. If only they had been more transparent or willing to work with me on a solution, I would have been a happier customer.

I am Marcel C. and I recently joined LA Fitness. I am disappointed with the service at the Mukilteo, WA location. The gym unexpectedly closed multiple times on weekend mornings, with no prior notice. When the staff member, Charlie, tried to open the door, they couldn't, and the expected person never showed up. Though Charlie promised to extend my membership by 2 weeks as compensation, this extension was not processed despite providing all necessary details. When I tried to discuss this with Tyler, he was very rude. He overheard my conversation at the entrance, yet he questioned my membership status when I approached him. Tyler argued about the compensation and behaved aggressively, lacking customer service skills. The bathrooms have black mold, which is a health concern, and there was a hygiene issue near the pool. Additionally, there are missing soap dispensers in the showers. Tyler's behavior and the gym's upkeep are making me reconsider extending my membership at this location.

I recently canceled my gym membership shortly after signing up and I'm seeking a refund. Despite being informed it was not possible, I feel taken advantage of by a friend who works as a manager at the gym where I joined. While on the phone with him, I expressed uncertainty as a first-time gym member, yet he proceeded to enroll me without disclosing the non-refundable policy. The transaction was processed just three days ago, and I am urgently requesting a refund. Upon attempting to discuss the issue with him, I encountered disrespectful behavior.

I stayed in Florida from October 19th to November 2nd, [redacted], and subscribed to LA Fitness in Deerfield for a two-week pass with the intention of visiting 8 times. An agent suggested a plan costing me $85.58 instead of the $16 daily fee, which I paid using my credit card. However, I was charged an additional $42.79 on November 21st, which seems incorrect. I contacted customer service two days ago, and although they were supposed to call me back, I have not received any response yet. I would appreciate it if you could assist me in resolving this issue. I attempted to sign up for a guest pass twice but did not receive them. Upon visiting the location, only the receptionist was available, and he kindly allowed me to take a look around. Shortly after leaving, I received a call from a salesperson named Robert. I explained that I am only interested in playing basketball, not using the full facility. Robert mentioned that individuals who play basketball are not eligible for guest passes due to theft concerns and that people sign up with fake information. This made me feel offended as it did not apply to me at all. I still have not received my passes. I have been to this gym before and know that what Robert said is not true. It seems like he might have been discouraged by my disinterest in a membership, hence the issue with my guest pass not being processed.

While playing basketball at my LA Fitness gym in Fountain Valley, California, my new iPhone 11 was stolen. After reviewing the security footage, I inquired at the front desk to confirm if the individual was a member. Surprisingly, the thief was not a gym member but still gained access to the facility. This unfortunate event has resulted in the loss of my iPhone and an additional expense to replace it.

On December 8th, I visited LA Fitness in Roseville, MN to terminate my membership. The process was swift, and I completed the necessary paperwork indicating my desire to cancel. Surprisingly, on December 9th, I received an email notifying me that my personal training sessions were reactivated. Confused, I reached out for an explanation but did not receive a satisfactory answer about the difficulties in canceling my membership. I am simply seeking to cancel my membership as I have not been utilizing it and am facing medical challenges.

I recently joined to access all clubs at the Hyattsville, Maryland location. I am being charged $5 on my checking account each time I visit a different club. Upon contacting the Hyattsville location, I was informed that Christina could help resolve this matter. However, when I tried to reach her on Dec 9th, she was consistently unavailable due to lunch breaks or being on another call. Despite assurances of a callback, Christina never returned my call. This lack of communication is disappointing and unprofessional.

I signed a two-month contract for my kids' summer vacation in June and July [redacted] at the gym. I went in person to cancel the account, and both my son and I signed the cancellation form. Surprisingly, after reviewing my bank statements, I noticed that money is still being deducted from my account. I tried contacting the corporate office, but no one is responding. I have reported this to my bank as fraud and plan to contact the credit bureau. I will also post about this on social media to warn others. Despite reaching out to corporate, I have not received any help. Please stop deducting money from my account. I have spoken with Wilson Lopez, the manager, and informed him that I canceled the account in July. I will be sending a copy of this message to the credit bureau along with the emails LA Fitness sent me.

Dear customer service, I am Ed Schmitt, with account number F[redacted]3 from the previous Ballys system. I am reaching out regarding a personal training plan I purchased for my wife in Beaverton on December 3. Unfortunately, I later realized she will be away for 10 weeks next year and already has trainers and chiropractic care. I have been trying to obtain a copy of the contract to cancel the plan, but the gym has been unable to provide it despite numerous requests. I recently found out about the 3-day cancellation period, and although I spoke with a staff member on the 3rd day, I was unable to meet in person until the 4th day. I am requesting to be released from the contract and have been in communication with Joshua from your team regarding this matter. Location: [redacted] Austell Road, Suite [redacted], Austell, GA [redacted] - [redacted] Hello, I have been a member for several months and keep dealing with a recurring issue at my gym. Some people in my class claim specific spots on the floor as their own and insist others move if they are standing there. This has happened to me more than 10 times despite arriving early to set up. It creates discomfort and intimidation among members. I suggest that the management post a note on the exercise room door stating that all spots are first come, first served. This behavior of reserving spots should not happen, especially to new members who are unaware. I hope the management at [redacted] Austell Road, Suite [redacted], Austell, GA [redacted] - [redacted] can address this issue by making it clear that this practice is not acceptable. I contacted LA Fitness customer service last week and spoke with Steven regarding my training issue: - Master trainer Byron was fired - I prefer a female trainer at Hunters Creek, Orlando FL - I should not have to pay more for a Master trainer due to the situation I have been a long-time member of LA Fitness with supposed 80 visits, but I believe it should be higher. There have been past issues with my account. My last training session may have been in May [redacted] with Byron. I was promised a call back on 12/8 or 12/9 but have not received one. I was told my case would be escalated to the District VP. My requests are: 1. To train with a female trainer at my current rate of $40. 2. To understand the additional $31 charge, as I have a Silver Sneakers account. Thank you. - BES

I reached out to the West Orange NJ gym today regarding a family membership. During the call, a man mentioned that Fitness Sales: Darryl B. had approved a special offer. I informed him that my husband would manage our membership. I requested not to be contacted personally. However, the situation escalated when the man became disrespectful and eventually hung up on me. After calling again and speaking to Member Service: Jaclyn F., I was advised to address the issue with Fitness Sales: Darryl B. This behavior is unacceptable, and it is evident why there are negative customer service reviews about the West Orange location. They seem eager to make sales but lack in resolving customer issues promptly.

I moved to India over six months ago and realized recently that my membership is still active, with charges continuing. Despite not using the facilities for the past few months, I have been billed.
