Dear Sir or Madam,
On 20 February [redacted], I contacted you to request a certificate of periods worked in the UK (Ref [redacted]82, national insurance SP 90 25 41 B).
Last November, I received a letter from you requesting additional information, such as a letter from my last UK employer confirming the reason for the end of my employment, among other things. Despite multiple attempts, I have been unsuccessful in obtaining this letter after trying about 5 times. Unfortunately, there has been no response from my former employer, and I am unsure of what steps to take next.
I do have a copy of the termination of contract agreement, which I can send to you by post if needed. Please advise on the next course of action.
Yours faithfully,
Raquel Justicia

I recently contacted the probate line to inquire about the required form needed for submission. Unfortunately, I had to endure long waits of at least 20 minutes during my two phone calls before being disconnected while being transferred. This has been particularly frustrating as I am calling from abroad, incurring significant costs without any resolution. Initially, I was advised to fill out a PA1A form and an IHT207 form. However, upon reviewing the instructions for the IHT207 form, it states that if I answer yes to specific questions, I should cease filling out the form and instead complete an IHT400 form. The conflicting advice between the calls has left me perplexed and in need of assistance to clarify the correct procedure.

I've noticed that I've been taxed even though I earn well below the tax-free allowance of £12,[redacted] per year. My tax code is currently set to OT. Despite obtaining my national insurance number, my tax situation hasn't improved and I continue to be taxed unfairly. I am unsure how to address this issue or get in touch with the right person to assist me. I've come across some contact numbers, but they are consistently busy, making it challenging for me to rectify this and receive a refund.

I have taken over the care of my son on 09/03/[redacted]. His mother, Jenna Cowan, has not informed the authorities that she is no longer caring for him. I have added my son, Jaiden Hunter, who is 12 years old, to my Universal Credit claim. However, Jenna continues to collect child benefit. I am unable to contact you because I cannot find the free number, and I am struggling to fill out the forms for tax credits or child benefit. I am aware that these processes are usually done through Universal Credit, but my phone does not support the file needed to open the forms. Jenna has received several payments that should have been redirected to me because of the change in circumstances. I need the forms to be sent to my address at [redacted] Torvean Avenue IV35SW.

I have reviewed your documents but I am unsure of my eligibility for a Covid-19 grant as I have not received anything yet. I work out of a couple of rooms at my mum's house and do not claim SBRR or RRR. Does that mean I cannot claim a grant? My business has 2 employees and a subcontractor and I am classified as a small business. My VAT number is [redacted] 16 and my company name is AJ Parkes Commercial & Domestic. I have been waiting for various matters to be resolved with HMRC since my father passed away in November. I inherited Dad's VAT number and now operate as a sole trader. We provide services to local councils, nursing homes, childcare facilities, hospitals, and schools. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

During the closure of the company I worked for due to COVID-19, I was off work for a week while isolating because of illness. I would appreciate advice on what my entitlements are for this situation as I had to isolate for a minimum of 2 weeks.
I also need guidance on potential income support, as I typically worked more hours than my contract to cover my expenses. I am concerned that my reduced wage (80% of contracted hours) due to COVID-19 may not be enough to meet my needs.
I am 18 years old and reside with my family; although I do not pay rent, I cover my own expenses such as food, clothing, toiletries, transportation, phone bills (including a family member's), internet, and other monthly payments. I am worried that the reduced income from working only 6 hours per week at minimum wage may not be sufficient. Your advice in these matters would be greatly appreciated, especially since I have always worked more than 6 hours a week since starting at my current job.

In [redacted], I inquired about registering for self-assessment due to a potential caregiving opportunity that did not materialize. At that time, I worked for a care agency under PAYE and did not proceed with the registration. Although I have since moved from 27 Salisbury Road, I recently received mail about fines related to self-assessment, which I did not complete as I am a full-time PAYE employee without any self-employment history. I am concerned about these penalties, as I never officially registered for self-assessment and have always paid my taxes through my employment. Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. My National Insurance number is YY 97 18 85C.

I opened a cash ISA with Santander in March [redacted] and recently received a maturity reminder, prompting me to move it to Virgin Money. Confusion led me to transfer the funds directly, realizing later this was not the correct procedure. I reached out to Santander through web chat to inquire about returning the money but was directed to contact you. I am new to ISAs and prefer in-person dealings at a branch. These savings are crucial for my pension, and I aim to rectify the situation amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic. Virgin Money's maturity date is set for 21.4.21. Can you assist me with this matter, please? My reference number is WM742862D. Thank you, Mandy H.

Dear Sirs,
My husband has been self-employed since September [redacted] and has recently taken on an apprentice, Tom. I have been helping with the company's paperwork, but I may have made a mistake by not putting Tom on the PAYE Scheme. I assumed he didn't qualify because of his low earnings, education status, and the company's turnover being under £3 million. I am now worried that this oversight might affect Tom's entitlement for the CJRS as our business has slowed down due to the current situation. I would like to know if we should still apply for the PAYE Scheme for Tom, and if so, can we do it retroactively to when he started, even though he wasn't 18 at that time? Tom is a dedicated employee who deserves the support. Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,
KW

School Closure During COVID-19.
----------------------------------
Since my 18-year-old son has been home due to the school closure on 20th March, my ex-husband claims he no longer needs to provide maintenance payments as our son is not in education presently, despite him preparing for his 'A'-Levels this Summer.
While my ex-husband maintains his £120k per annum job without any furlough, my son's school is offering home learning materials.
I have a few inquiries:
1. Is my son still recognized as being in education, given that his school is supporting home learning?
2. Where can I locate an HMRC statement confirming this status during the current closures?
3. Could someone from HMRC advise on whether my ex-husband is justified in reducing maintenance payments during these unusual circumstances? How can I direct him to seek guidance from HMRC regarding this matter?

My National Insurance number is SC236954C. I recently logged in to my account and noticed that my address was incorrect. I managed to update it, but when I tried to change the move-in date to 15/05/16, it was not accepted, stating it didn't correspond with the records. Instead, it only allowed the move-in date of 07/02/19. Can you please adjust the move-in date on my account to reflect the correct date of 15/05/16? Thank you. Sincerely, AO

Hello,
I traveled with my family from Poland to the UK in July [redacted] using our own car. However, we haven't driven it since January [redacted] and didn't register it because we plan to sell it in Poland soon. We are now moving from Manchester to Perth in Scotland and need guidance on how to go about it. Any information on the process and requirements would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Since starting a new job in February, I noticed I was being paid less than my colleagues despite having the same pay rate. After contacting my employers and providing them with my P45, my pay increased to match my co-workers. However, last week, I faced the same issue again. My net pay is significantly lower, and my tax code is showing as 1T instead of the correct 1250L. This discrepancy is causing me to lose around £[redacted] per week, and my employer claims it's due to HMRC instructions. Despite trying to contact HMRC by phone without success due to the current situation, I checked my online account, which also displays the incorrect tax code. I am at a loss and struggling financially.

Hello, I have been attempting to contact the Statutory Payments disputes team all morning without success. I have been on maternity leave for 19 weeks with 20 weeks remaining. Following my employer's sale of the business, the remaining credit of my maternity pay was transferred to the new employer. However, the new employer recently underpaid me, issuing only £91.15 instead of the correct amount of £[redacted]-[redacted]. Furthermore, they stated that this was the final payment I would receive. I am deeply concerned that without the timely receipt of my maternity payments, my family will struggle to pay our bills. My husband is currently on furlough due to the pandemic, adding to our financial strain. I urgently seek assistance in reaching the disputes team or resolving this issue. Thank you.
Best regards,
Sasha S.

I wish to inform you that I have relocated from the UK and am currently residing in Ireland since March 12, [redacted]. I am seeking a refund for the income tax paid on my pension funds with RBS and Santander from April 5, [redacted]. The pension funds will still be deposited into my UK bank account, and I will handle tax matters with the Irish Revenue Commissioners. Kindly cease charging a 40% income tax rate on these payments and reimburse the tax deducted in April to my UK bank account.
I am now in Ireland, not employed due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. Initially, I had plans to work post-relocation and rent a property in the UK during any job engagement. However, given the current circumstances, this is no longer feasible. I will be completing my UK tax return for the year ending April 5, [redacted], in the upcoming weeks. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, I am a director/employee of a Limited Company established in [redacted] - John Bedford Entertainments Limited: Co no. [redacted]. Last year, our accountant, whom we've worked with since inception, halted the payroll after a discussion regarding sole trader status. Despite opting against this route, we didn't immediately realize the payroll had stopped. Upon discovery, we requested its reinstatement. Despite numerous calls and emails, the accountant failed to resume the payroll. We are now seeking a new chartered accountant to manage our accounts and payroll going forward. At present, I have unresolved payroll payments, which I had set funds aside for. After reaching out to the accountant, they admitted to not restarting the payroll. I seek guidance on resolving this situation and accessing essential furlough payments. Best regards, Ben Bedford, Contact: [redacted], [redacted], [redacted].

I have been employed by Nurse Plus for more than 3 years. Due to a severe medical condition, I received a letter from the NHS identifying me as high risk, advising me not to leave my home during the outbreak. I informed my branch as they requested either a note from my GP or a call to [redacted]. After following the instructions, I was informed that the NHS letter is sufficient evidence that I cannot work outside my home. However, the HR department mentioned I am not eligible for SSP. After discussing the new regulations with them, they acknowledged I am entitled to SSP under the recent legislative changes. They asked for the letter as proof, and they will begin processing my SSP from the day the legislation changed on 16/04/[redacted]. I believe I should have received SSP from the beginning, considering the circumstances and the guidelines in place for everyone's safety under the Equality Act [redacted].

Dear Team,
I was instructed to provide the figures paid by Esa for this tax year to facilitate the reimbursement of the tax I was charged by my previous employer. Upon leaving the company in July, I anticipated receiving all my owed finances, including holiday pay accumulated over 9 years of service. Despite receiving the entirety of what I was owed, the holiday pay was omitted. After my P45 was sent, HR inaccurately placed me on emergency tax, resulting in the deduction of my holiday pay. Subsequently, I contacted the inland revenue and was advised to await the figures from ESA before pursuing my refund. ESA has provided a figure of £[redacted].06, and I have been informed that the rebate won't be processed until July. Despite multiple attempts to contact your office, I have been unable to connect successfully.
Sincerely,
Lucia T. P.

Hello,
I recently contacted HMRC to arrange a payment plan for an outstanding fee. Unfortunately, the call got disconnected while I was being transferred to the right department. Since then, I have been struggling to reach HMRC to resolve this issue.
I also have some late self-assessments to complete, as I only recently updated my address with HMRC and was unaware of the requirement, given my annual income was less than £10,[redacted]. I need to explain my situation to someone at HMRC as I cannot afford the excess fees. I am eager to start repaying the outstanding tax.
Could you please advise me on how to set up a payment plan for the self-assessment, and guide me on the best person to speak to about resolving the late fees for the self-assessment? I am facing difficulty completing the process online due to security reasons, and keep getting locked out for 24 hours. I want to resolve these issues promptly. Thank you for your assistance.
