Gulf Oil Customer Service Issues

I am writing regarding the incident at the Gulf Service station located at [redacted] Castlemilk Road in Glasgow on the 9th of September, [redacted]. Around 2:00 PM today, I visited the mentioned service station to refuel my car. After inserting the pump nozzle into the filler cap, petrol started spilling out uncontrollably, causing my feet, legs, and the forecourt to be drenched in fuel. I alerted the attendant to stop the fuel flow. The attendant acknowledged there was an issue with that specific pump and used sand to absorb the spilled petrol. Despite her attempts to refill my car, the pump continued to malfunction, resulting in more fuel spillage. When asked to retry, I declined to avoid further contamination. The attendant then went inside the station to resolve the issue. Upon returning, she resumed refueling my tank, surpassing the amount I requested. I intervened and asked her to stop. Upon payment, she provided blue paper rolls for me to clean the spilled fuel, indicating that the pump was now functioning correctly. The incident reveals a concerning safety hazard with the pump at this station. The fuel spillage not only resulted in heavy contamination of my clothes and shoes but also posed serious risks of ignition. Regards, A.M.
