Two weeks ago, we had a Goodman system installed with a 4-ton variable air handler. The heat pump installed was a 16 SEER 4-ton GSZ160481. However, a multi-speed ASPT49D14 was mistakenly installed instead of the intended variable speed air handler. Although the units worked well together, they were not a variable speed system as we had ordered. Last week, an attempt was made to correct this by replacing it with a 5-ton variable speed APTC61D14. Unfortunately, this mismatch made the system unsuitable as stated in the manuals. The loud and strong airflow is unpleasant, and the dip switch settings seem to be for a 5-ton system, not a 4-ton one. It appears the correct 4-ton AVPTC49C14 unit should be installed to ensure compatibility and proper functioning. Today, it was noticed that the air handler installed was actually for a 5-ton system, not a 4-ton one.

I purchased a Goodman product and have had two burnt blower motors and a defective evaporator coil. Despite my installer's assurance that the items are warranted for 10 years, Goodman now claims it's only for 5 years unless a form is filed within 90 days of the installation. This seems unfair, especially since Goodman is facing a class-action lawsuit for faulty coils. They are using technicalities to avoid honoring their promised warranty period. Goodman should take responsibility for their products rather than penalizing homeowners for paperwork delays. Trane, not Goodman, is recommended for better reliability and service. Research reviews online before choosing HVAC equipment to avoid the frustrations I have faced with Goodman's poor customer service.

I purchased a Goodman HVAC system and have had two burnt blower motors and now a defective evaporator coil. My installer initially said it was covered under Goodman's 10-year warranty, but Goodman is now claiming it's only covered for 5 years as a form wasn't filed within 90 days of installation. This seems unfair, especially given the ongoing class action lawsuit over faulty coils. Goodman is shifting blame to homeowners for not submitting paperwork on time, which shouldn't impact a warranty on poorly manufactured products. I will continue to pursue this issue. Consider buying Trane instead of Goodman to avoid similar headaches with their unhelpful customer service. I am not asking for labor charges or reimbursement for Freon, just for Goodman to honor their 10-year warranty and replace the faulty parts they promised to cover. Before getting HVAC work done, research Goodman's track record and consider more reliable brands like American Standard or Trane. If Goodman wants to address this, I request someone from upper management to contact me promptly, as the current customer service has been unhelpful. Sincerely, Megan

I purchased a Goodman unit and have had multiple problems with it. My installer told me it was covered by a 10-year warranty, but now Goodman is only honoring it for 5 years due to a form not being filed within 90 days of installation. It seems like Goodman is using this technicality to avoid their responsibility, especially since they are facing a class-action lawsuit for defective coils. I believe a warranty should not be affected by paperwork if the product was built properly. I am frustrated with Goodman's customer service and their refusal to honor the original 10-year warranty. I recommend choosing Trane over Goodman for HVAC work to avoid similar issues. I hope to hear from upper management to resolve this matter promptly. - Megan

We have been trying to get in touch with Dennis Blackmon, the person who sold and installed our unit, but we have not been successful. The fan inside the unit in our house is malfunctioning, as it runs continuously once started. Recently, we arrived home to find water leaking from it, causing some damage to the floor. This has been an ongoing issue, making it difficult for us to keep the unit on for cooling purposes.

I have a Goodman GPC1324H41AA unit that keeps failing to cool my house properly despite multiple HVAC companies looking at it. Throughout the day, the temperature inside rises significantly, even though the unit seems to be running constantly. When I turn off the power, water drains out, and after restarting, the air blows cold but stops cooling after about an hour. This cycle happens frequently during the day, but less so at night. I have tried changing filters, cleaning the drain pan, ensuring correct freon levels, new thermostat batteries, and checking various components like the condenser, capacitor, and vents. Despite one tech fixing a potential vent issue, the problem persists, leading to high electricity bills. I am seeking advice or support as previous services have not resolved the issue, and I cannot afford more failed repairs. I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you. - RS

I have a question about our Janitrol furnace, noted in the manual as Model: GMP, GMPN, GSU & GMPH Series. Despite the heat not being on, the blower activates (without heat) every morning for brief intervals of 1/2 to 5 seconds, repeating every 1 to 6 minutes until around 6:00-6:30 am. Despite disconnecting the AprilAire humidifier as a potential cause, the issue persists. The HVAC technician inspected the connections and suspects the control board, but can't confirm unless present during the malfunction. As we can't schedule a visit during the early morning hours, any insights on whether the control board is likely responsible before replacing it would be appreciated. Thank you for your assistance.

I have a Goodman Heat Pump for 6 years, registered under Roger Dale Stepp. Lately, the air handler or compressor is leaking water. The H&A technician discovered a clogged drain line and advised drying out the wet filters. Despite efforts, the bottom filters remain wet, and I can't locate the source of the water. Seeking advice before calling another technician. Unsure if I can replace the filters and questioning why they are getting wet. I lack a computer at home, so I'm at the library. Please provide assistance as soon as possible. Thank you. Dale Stepp

I have purchased four Goodman Central AC units over the past five years for my rental properties and personal residence. Recently, my personal home's AC has been troublesome, with multiple compressor and inside coil replacements in a short period. Even after a complete inspection in June, the outside coils were found to be leaking, and the compressor is damaged. I am disappointed and concerned about the quality of your products. Please advise on how to regain my trust in your company. Bart H. from Hollywood, FL [redacted]. Serial # [redacted] Model # VSX130611AA.

On December 23, [redacted], it was discovered that the heat exchanger in my [redacted] furnace is cracked, causing it to leak onto my second-floor ceiling. Unfortunately, the necessary part is not available for another 2-3 weeks, leaving me in a dire situation. Despite my repeated attempts to expedite the process through my home warranty and Goodman, the resolution seems far off. This delay is concerning as the leak poses a real risk of damaging my property and endangering my family, including my two wheelchair-bound children. It is frustrating that my urgent situation does not seem to be a priority for the company. Waiting for weeks with a leaking furnace is simply not acceptable, especially with such safety risks involved. I urge for a prompt replacement of the faulty furnace to ensure my family's well-being. - Dameron D.

Despite a recent compressor replacement, the unit stopped working and ongoing issues were not resolved by a new electronic motherboard, indicating a faulty compressor. The repairman from Singletary Plumbing & A/C Company suspects an unidentified issue causing compressor failures. I am unable to request a new unit directly and seek your assistance in directing the Phoenix Goodman Distributing Center to send a replacement promptly. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Barbara J. Terry CC: Customer Service

I was troubleshooting a Goodman furnace issue where the pressure switch seemed faulty. I replaced it with a new one, but the problem persisted. By bypassing the switch, I got the unit to run properly. Switching the pressure switches momentarily helped, but fluctuations in pressure from the inducer motor were causing issues. Despite having proper gas pressure, the flame was still lifting. The pressure switch eventually got stuck closed, leading to the unit shutting off. I'm puzzled by what could be causing these issues. Any insights would be highly valued. Thank you and have a good night.

As a technician working for Custom Air in Powell, WY, I have encountered a situation where a customer's AC system froze from the condenser towards the evaporator coil, while the indoor blower was not operating. After checking various components like the furnace model GMV950905DXBB and serial number [redacted], testing for voltage at the R terminal and the blower motor's transformer, I suspect the motor's endbell may be the problem. I am unsure how to test the motor and would appreciate guidance on diagnosing it to determine if it needs replacement.

I recently installed a GSX130241 AC Condenser unit and have encountered an issue with the discharge line pulsing since installation. The liquid line runs below my master bedroom in the basement, and despite my efforts to prevent contact with ductwork or 2X4s, the pulsating noise is disrupting my sleep. I believe the addition of a liquid line muffler might help reduce the pulsation. Could anyone advise on the type and size of muffler recommended for installation? Thank you. My name is Karen D H and there seems to be an issue with the warranty for my home located at [redacted] Stone Drive in Rossville, Georgia, concerning unit serial number [redacted]. My mother, Shirley L, resides in the home, and we require assistance in proving my ownership. I bought the property in [redacted]. The unit has malfunctioned, and we urgently need it repaired as she is alone in the cold. I contacted a representative from Goodman, who advised me to communicate with the correct homeowner. I possess all the necessary documents from the purchase that I can provide for verification. Goodman must rectify the homeowner details on the warranty to facilitate the repair process. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Karen_DH appreciates your assistance in resolving this issue promptly.

I connected a manometer to the negative pressure drain port of a ducted blower without the pressure switch connected. I observed the manometer while the unit was running. The pressure stayed negative initially but then gradually rose, reaching a positive pressure of 4.25 inches of water column before I halted the unit. I inspected the drain port for any signs of water or blockages, finding none. I then checked the 3-inch exhaust stack, which runs straight out to the outside with only a 2-inch span from the blower to the unit's top. The path is clear, with just one 3-inch 90-degree angle, and there are no obstructions. The induction motor is operational, and the blower wheel is securely attached. Could the issue be with the motor shaft?

I plan to purchase a Goodman condenser/air handler system tomorrow. I aim to get a 19 SEER product to replace my current 19 SEER Trane system. I believe the GSXC180361 is the correct condenser to achieve this. Could you please confirm the suitable air handler to pair with it to reach the 19 SEER rating? Also, if both units are purchased and installed simultaneously, am I eligible for a lifetime warranty on the compressor and 10 years on the other parts? My dealer mentioned that the compressor no longer comes with a lifetime warranty, which is different from what I expected. Can you provide clarity on this matter? Thank you for your assistance.

Client G's furnace, previously converted to LP, was switched back to natural gas using the original components. Initially working well, the unit now shuts off the first and second burners, leaving only the third burner lit without any error codes. The flame sensor is located near the third burner, creating the impression that all is well. The non-adjustable modulating valve might be causing the issue. Can anyone explain why this is occurring and suggest a solution? Contact at vikingplumb1@[redacted].
