At Fitness 19 on Haven, on July 16th at 5:28 am, a tall caucasian male questioned the use of cables, leading to a confrontation where the individual disassembled equipment and used offensive language. The situation intensified with derogatory comments from the male and his friend. A manager, Cody, intervened and warned both parties about their conduct. Despite feeling unsafe, the incident did not receive a proper resolution and left lingering concerns about the gym's promised safe environment. The lack of follow-up from the manager regarding disciplinary actions or updates added to the frustration of the member. The unresolved conflict caused enough distress that the gym-goer had to miss a workout the following day.

Hello, I am uncertain about the appropriate channel to address my concern. I have been a member for a few months and generally have had a positive experience. However, for the past week, there has been an unresolved issue at my local gym, the Eagle Rock location in California. We have been without Clorox wipes for over a week now, and it is impacting my ability to clean the equipment for my health and the health of others. I have noticed varying levels of hygiene among users, and the lack of cleaning supplies has made me avoid certain machines altogether. While I understand minor inconveniences happen, I was recently charged an additional $40 for maintenance without prior notice. I am disappointed that this issue has persisted for at least eight days.

Hello,
I am Noel Keuboun, and I am writing regarding an overcharge to my bank account. Recently, my wife, who frequents your gym at FRY Road and Morton Ranch, noticed a discrepancy in her monthly charges. Instead of the usual $10.83 fee, she has been consistently billed $20.83 for the past three months. Upon addressing this issue with the manager at the location, I encountered a dismissive attitude that made it difficult to communicate effectively. Despite explaining that we did not request any additional services, the manager initially denied the error but eventually rectified it. However, he insisted that the $30 overcharge would not be refunded. I am reaching out in hopes of a more satisfactory resolution to this matter. I await your response.
Best regards,

My family and I have been members of Fitness 19 for over 10 years originally when it was Express Fitness. At some point, we took advantage of the family deal where one person paid a yearly fee and a family member paid one fee for a lifetime membership. Our sons have not been members for some time as they are both serving in the Marine Corps. We typically received an annual invoice for the primary member. Three years ago, we paid upfront for three years at $99. Unfortunately, this year we did not receive an invoice and only realized our membership had lapsed when requesting a new key card. We were informed our membership was canceled in June, despite us continuing to use the gym regularly. I come to the gym at least five days a week and no one mentioned our membership status before. I am urgently requesting to reinstate our membership at the cost of $99 for the primary member, my wife, and include our family membership. Our Pleasanton, CA gym will be closed for three weeks starting this Saturday for floor replacement, and I need to ensure access to another location during this time. Thank you.

I have a membership because I signed up for a free trial that I only used for one day. Now the company is saying I owe them money as my account is past due. I requested to cancel when they contacted me, but they still tried to charge me. This situation is frustrating, especially because my credit score may be affected by this. The free trial was only supposed to be for five days, so it's unfair that they are trying to make me pay for using it for only one day. I urgently need assistance in resolving this issue promptly.

I have been a loyal member of Fitness 19 in Danville, CA for years and have generally enjoyed the club and the management. However, approximately 6 weeks ago, I noticed significant dirt under the weight racks in the exercise room. I reported it to the desk staff, who mentioned issues with the cleaning team and said they would inform the manager. After a few weeks with no improvement, I directly showed the manager the problem, and he explained that the cleaning crew had misplaced their vacuum. Despite my concerns about cleanliness and health, the area remained uncleaned as of Saturday, Dec. 28. I am disappointed with the lack of urgency to address such a simple issue. I am hesitant to continue my membership if such basic hygiene problems persist. I hope this matter can be resolved promptly as I prefer to avoid posting negative reviews on social media platforms like Yelp. Thank you.

I was a member of the Fontana gym for several years. It is disappointing that the gym closed its doors. Many loyal customers, including myself, followed a personal trainer there. The sudden closure and short notice were poorly managed. It's frustrating that the company didn't prioritize customer loyalty. I will not be following them to a new location. I hope the new gym in the area attracts many former customers. The company's treatment of loyal customers in Fontana was unacceptable. Please stop sending me emails about the new gym location as I no longer have any interest in this company.

In [redacted], Store [redacted] in Livonia, MI closed, and my husband thought he cancelled our membership. However, we recently discovered that our account was mistakenly activated at Store [redacted] in Farmington Hills, MI. We noticed monthly charges of $10 on our bank statement since then. After speaking to the manager, Cole, on 2/18/[redacted], he cancelled the account over the phone. We believe we are owed a refund for the charges, as the miscommunication between Store [redacted] and Store [redacted] led to this error. Despite realizing this issue late, we never used the services at Store [redacted] due to the distance from our home. We have always liked Fitness 19, and any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I need assistance canceling my Fitness 19 membership. I have been a member for a decade and also have an ongoing personal training commitment.
I planned to cancel after finishing the last 6 training sessions I prepaid for, but my trainer has been consistently canceling. Hence, I wish to cancel now. However, my local Fitness 19 branch states that according to corporate policy, I cannot receive a refund for the remaining sessions. Instead, they offered a new trainer and 3 complimentary training sessions.
Despite my efforts to contact the corporate office, the numbers I tried appear to be disconnected. I am seeking guidance on how to address this issue directly with corporate.

I was recently charged $[redacted] for my personal training, three times more than my usual rate. Despite discussing with the manager to lower my costs by changing my sessions from 1 hour to 30 minutes, I was still overcharged. The additional charges were attributed to sessions supposedly purchased post-lockdown, which I did not buy. To cancel these unauthorized sessions, I must pay for an additional month due to a required 30-day notice period. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this matter with the gym, as I do enjoy my sessions there but find the increased charges unreasonable. If I cannot get this issue resolved, I may opt to cancel my sessions and request a refund instead.

Subject: Gym Membership Cancellation Request
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to officially request the cancellation of my gym membership with Fitness 19 under account number [redacted]. I have decided not to renew my membership for the following reasons:
1. I was unaware of the requirement to provide written notice for membership cancellation.
2. I had previously left multiple messages at the Huntington Beach location expressing my desire to cancel, and I believe the responsibility lies with staff to relay this information.
3. Despite renewing my membership months ago, I have not utilized any of the gym facilities.
4. The closure of locations due to the ongoing pandemic restricted access, making the membership fees unjustifiable.
Please treat this letter as my formal cancellation notice, effective from the date when I was persuaded to renew despite my initial cancellation due to financial difficulties.
Sincerely,
S.S.
[redacted] Nashville Avenue
Huntington Beach, CA [redacted]

I have been attempting to cancel my membership for almost a year now without success. Despite multiple attempts, I have not received clear instructions on how to cancel online, as there is no such option available on the website. I was recently charged $62.97, even though I have not visited any Fitness 19 location in over a year. I have faced this issue before and have been unable to resolve it with the gym's staff. I am requesting a refund for the $62.97 charge and wish to officially cancel my membership going forward.

On Sunday, March 11th, [redacted], at 2 pm, I visited the Campbell location on [redacted] Campbell Avenue in Campbell, California. When I arrived, the music was unmemorable, but when a boy named Brandon replaced the girl at the temperature check, he changed it to loud rock music, which was bothersome. Several other young men around the same age as Brandon were also let in. Fortunately, a girl eventually lowered the volume, allowing me to finish my workout in peace. The following day, when I tried to address the issue with the manager, I was met with a dismissive response, and he did not identify himself as the manager. I left feeling unheard, especially when he refused to provide me with his contact information, leading me to decide to cancel my membership.

Hello, I am reaching out regarding an issue after the Bakersfield BxFitness acquisition. Due to my health situation with a brain disease called CTE, I couldn't attend the gym. Despite not signing any agreements, money was withdrawn from my account. I feel owed compensation for the months I was charged. My father, David C., had signed up for personal training, but due to the transition, he lost out on around $[redacted]. As I handled his payments, I am looking for any refunds or checks in his name. If not resolved, legal action may be taken under the ADA. Kindly provide details and dates of the transition for clarification. Thank you.

Hello Fitness 19,
I would like to inquire if it is now permissible to lower face masks during cardio workouts at the Fitness 19 (Chatsworth, CA location). Despite being fully vaccinated, I have noticed a few individuals at the gym with lowered masks while doing cardio, even though it is currently not officially permitted. While most patrons wear masks diligently, a few seem to have their masks slipped down. The lack of enforcement by staff, even when they walk by these individuals, can lead to confusion regarding the mask policy in place. This inconsistency raises questions about whether the rules are being relaxed or if they are still mandatory. As a conscientious gym-goer, I want to adhere to guidelines without causing discomfort to others. Clarification on the mask protocol would be greatly appreciated to ensure everyone's safety and well-being. Thank you.

I am attempting to reach out to someone in corporate regarding the poor service I have experienced at Eagle Rock Fitness 19 in Los Angeles, CA. I am extremely disappointed by the way the company is treating its clients post-Pandemic. I recently discovered that the card on file was lost during the pandemic, and now I am being charged three months of late fees despite struggling financially since my partner lost their job. While I am willing to pay the overdue amounts, it is unfair to impose excessive late fees. I urge the company to address this matter promptly to prevent any negative impact on my credit. If necessary, I am prepared to take legal action and report this to the Better Business Bureau. I also intend to share my experience on Yelp, Google, and the BBB website to inform others.

While using a machine during my workout, I finished my first set of 15 and was on a 45-second break when a trainer approached me. They wanted to slot in a client between my reps, which I declined. The trainer then asked if they could use the machine while I rested, to which I also said no. After finishing my routine, I spoke to the manager about the incident. The manager stated that such actions were part of gym etiquette, to which I expressed my dissatisfaction. This response led me to consider if this gym is the right fit for me, after being a member of various gyms for the past 15 years without encountering such behavior. It appears that in this gym, trainers may hold more importance than customers. Thank you, Richard Upton [redacted].

During my workout today, I was approached by a trainer at the gym while I was in the middle of using the back stretching machine. Despite explaining that I was still using it, they insisted because I was resting between sets. I typically take short breaks of 30 to 45 seconds between each set, but the trainer kept pressuring me to let them on the machine with their client. This led me to speak with the manager, Keith, to express my frustration. I was surprised when Keith said this was gym courtesy, as I have been a member at various gyms for 15 years and never encountered such a rule. I stick to my routine, avoiding distractions like phone calls or conversations. After Keith implied I may be at the wrong gym, I decided it was time to rethink my membership.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding Fitness 19 in Claremont, CA. I witnessed a female trainer at your club putting an overweight elderly woman at risk by having her perform KB swings with 35lbs using improper form. Additionally, the trainer allowed the woman to wear open-toed shoes while working out, which is extremely negligent. When I raised this issue to the personal training manager, he defended the trainer by mentioning her education and background, including being enrolled in a police academy and being a MMA fighter. I feel compelled to bring this to your attention as these practices could lead to serious injuries. I hope that the corporate office addresses this issue promptly.
Regards,

I am frustrated as money continues to be deducted from my account each month. Cancelling my membership has become an impossible task. This situation is incredibly frustrating.
