During my recent shopping trip, I encountered a distressing situation at the store. At the checkout, my total came to $52.35, but I only had $50. I politely asked the cashier to remove a few items, and she became agitated. In a loud and disrespectful manner, she accused me of previous similar incidents and refused to assist me. This embarrassing ordeal unfolded in front of other customers, and she eventually served them before me. Despite being the first in line, she proceeded to take my items without resolving the payment issue. When I inquired about my change, she rudely claimed there wasn't any, preventing me from catching the bus home. As a 55-year-old woman with mobility challenges, this mistreatment was deeply upsetting. I felt verbally abused and humiliated. Forced to walk home in severe discomfort, the experience was distressing. I hope for a resolution regarding my change and acknowledgment of the employee's unacceptable behavior.

I attempted to load money onto my Green Dot card at the Family Dollar store in Salmon, Idaho on Monday and again today, Wednesday. Despite the register showing "card approved," the associates were unable to enter the dollar amount. Even after consulting with other staff, they were unable to resolve the issue. I have successfully added funds to my card at this location in the past without any problems. The associates did not offer any insights into why this issue might be happening. While they suggested it might work on my next attempt, after two unsuccessful days, I'd like someone to investigate this matter further to ensure a solution for future transactions.

I visited your Bardstown, KY store today and found a sign from "Jessi" saying she was on a restroom break. I waited for 10 minutes until 1:25 pm, when 2 more customers arrived to a still closed store. This lack of staff and customer service is unacceptable. Why stay open if breaks can't be covered? I've never encountered such disregard at DG or any other store during the day. Please improve, FD.

I had a concerning experience at your store on Tiffin Ave, Findlay, Ohio [redacted] with an employee named Melissa. She appears to be the assistant manager. Melissa's behavior was extremely unprofessional and rude. She burps loudly, talks on her phone, and eats with her mouth full while interacting with customers. I observed her insensitivity towards individuals, including a man struggling to walk who parked in a handicap spot. Her lack of respect and confrontations with older male coworkers were alarming. When I inquired about a specific cat food, Melissa dismissively stated she's the only one working. Additionally, she plays inappropriate music that is unsuitable for all customers. Melissa's demeanor is arrogant and disrespectful, evident in her interactions and how she conducts herself. It was discomforting to witness her bring her son to work and discipline him loudly. The store's cleanliness near the registers left much to be desired. I feel compelled to share my experience and express my disappointment with Melissa and her friendship with the manager, Ashley, whom I've seen smoking together outside. Melissa's behavior towards customers is unacceptable, and I will not be returning to your store.

I urgently need to address a complaint with the Two Rivers, WI store regarding an employee named Josh Neumeyer. Josh used to be an acquaintance I conversed with occasionally on Facebook. Recently, Josh shared an article about a local haunted house owner being arrested for sexual assault of a minor. When I expressed my concern for the child involved, Josh shockingly defended the owner, John Schwartz, claiming the child must be lying. He made disturbing statements discrediting the victim and defending Schwartz vigorously, even mentioning they were best friends for over 20 years. Josh's unsettling defense of a predator leaves me deeply unsettled, especially considering children frequent the store. The situation has left me feeling uneasy, and I felt compelled to bring attention to this concerning behavior.

Last night, I had a disappointing experience at the store. The manager rushed through my checkout process and began scanning my items when I wasn't ready. I explained that I prefer a slower pace due to my shopping habits, but he was impatient. This was not the first time he was rude, and I am frustrated by the lack of customer service at the store. I wish I could address this matter by phone but haven't found a helpful contact. I might consider recording future encounters to share online. It's disappointing when employees are impolite, and I believe it affects the store's profitability. If you're unsure why the business is struggling, consider improving customer service. If needed, I would be interested in assisting with this improvement.

The person who claimed to be the manager was extremely rude. The store layout is improper, with incorrect prices displayed in various places, and there is no indication of what items are on sale for the listed price. When I pointed out the discrepancy in the soda's price and what I was charged, a young man dismissed my concern by suggesting I never return if I didn't like how the store was run. This disrespectful behavior is unacceptable. Additionally, there are suspicions of illegal drug sales happening at the store, contributing to the chaotic and disorganized state of the premises. A thorough inspection and intervention are urgently needed to address the severe lack of organization in the store.

I overheard a manager scolding an employee on the phone. The employee was tearfully explaining that she needed just 30 minutes to an hour off on Friday night for her daughter's senior night escort duty. She mentioned she originally had the day off but discovered the manager had changed her schedule last minute, taking the day for himself. The manager's response was harsh, saying he wouldn't rearrange the schedule for something he wasn't informed about beforehand. The employee was upset, and it seemed like she was struggling to get the time off for this important event.

I was unfairly terminated by Roberta Sharp with false reasons. My district manager claimed I resigned voluntarily, which is untrue, causing issues with my unemployment benefits. Throughout my time under Roberta's management, she consistently mistreated and harassed me. Despite my hard work, she failed to train me properly, showing favoritism towards other assistant managers who were allowed to neglect their duties, leading to a significant theft in the store. I had to handle tasks outside of my role, such as closing the bottom safe due to her negligence. It is clear that she is unfit to be a manager.

I encountered an issue at the store when I requested the bathroom key for my 3-year-old daughter. The manager was unhelpful, mentioning they were waiting on a locksmith because someone had taken the key three days prior. Despite explaining my urgent need, my daughter had to go to the bathroom. This led to an unnecessary exchange where the manager was disrespectful and had a terrible attitude towards us. The cashier even felt the need to apologize on their behalf. Such behavior is unacceptable in a customer service setting. Next time, I will opt to visit a different dollar store. Professionalism and polite communication are crucial in such situations, something the manager failed to demonstrate. This incident occurred at 12:30 p.m. and left a negative impression.

On 10/25/23, around 4:40 pm, I took my 2 daughters to the Family Dollar at 85 Myrtle St, New Britain, CT. They went inside to shop, and I waited in the car, letting them know if they needed more money to inform me as I would be waiting outside in the car. They were accused of theft by the employees, who grabbed my daughter's wallet and even hit her. My daughter, a minor of 14 years old, had neck, shoulder, and back pains. The police arrived and stated that the video did not show my daughter stealing. I requested a report from the police and had to call them because of the physical pains my daughter started experiencing. The doctor diagnosed her with a headache.

I had a negative experience at Family Dollar in Detroit, MI, store number [redacted]. While trying to purchase a t-shirt without a price tag, an employee was rude to me. She ignored me and even insulted me in front of other customers. This led to a heated argument where she used inappropriate language towards me. The manager did not intervene, leaving me feeling embarrassed and disrespected. Additionally, I have had issues using my coupons at this store as my phone number is not recognized in their system. I am disappointed with the treatment I received and would like to know how this can be addressed and if I can be compensated for the inconvenience. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Last night, November 2nd, at 7:00 PM, I visited the Family Dollar store located at [redacted] West Vernor Highway in Detroit, Michigan. While trying to inquire about the price of a shirt from a lady employee, she walked away while speaking, which made it difficult for me to hear. When I mentioned my struggle to hear her due to her walking away, she ignored me, leading to a frustrating interaction. Later, when I complained to the cashier about her behavior, the lady overheard and rudely told me to be quiet, escalating the situation. The confrontation turned ugly with both of us exchanging unpleasant words, including insults. This public embarrassment was exacerbated by her disrespectful comments about my deceased parents. Additionally, I expressed frustration about the store consistently claiming their coupon system is down whenever I try to use it, despite regularly shopping there. As a regular customer, the unwarranted confrontation and coupon issues have left me feeling humiliated and disrespected. Moving forward, I will avoid returning to this specific store due to this unpleasant experience. Sincerely, Tabitha Alsobrook.

Hello, my name is Qisna J. On Thursday, 11/2/23, my children and I visited Family Dollar on Washington Blvd in Sarasota, FL. My daughter needed to use the restroom, so I asked an employee to unlock it, but they refused. I inquired with the general manager, Randy, who mentioned concerns about drug paraphernalia in the bathroom. I decided to leave and as we were exiting, Randy prohibited me from re-entering without a clear reason. To my surprise, he later contacted my workplace falsely accusing me of inappropriate behavior. I feel discriminated against and plan to seek legal advice as I believe his actions were unprofessional and unwarranted.

I was shortchanged at the store today when I paid with a $20 bill and the cashier didn't give me back my change. Unfortunately, as I waited, the other person mentioned it was closing time at 8:47pm, so I couldn't receive assistance. I bought a $1 card and I am careful with my money as I didn't have smaller bills on me. Additionally, I didn't receive a receipt from the cashier who served me.

I used to work at Family Dollar, but unfortunately, I was unexpectedly let go during my onboarding process. I diligently recorded my work hours as instructed, but due to the store manager quitting and not submitting my hours to payroll, I have not received my paycheck for about three weeks now. I am unsure of the reason for my dismissal and the lack of communication is frustrating. Can anyone advise me on how to resolve this situation and ensure I receive my due payment? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Denise R.

I recently had a concerning experience with Family Dollar. I purchased a sheet set but unfortunately lost my receipt. When I opened the package a week later, I discovered one of the sheets had a tear. Upon attempting to exchange the set, still in its original packaging, I was informed by a manager that I couldn't exchange it or receive a refund. Despite my simple request for the same sheet set, the store didn't have it. I suggested getting a different set and paying the difference, but was told it wasn't possible as per their policy. Even involving the police didn't lead to a resolution. I believe there should always be someone available in-store to address customer issues promptly. I hope others won't have to go through the frustrating ordeal I experienced.

I was previously an assistant manager at a local Family Dollar store. Due to health issues, I had to resign with a two-week notice to maintain a good relationship in case I could return. Unfortunately, I fell ill during my notice period and couldn't complete it. As a result, the manager added me to the no rehire list when I attempted to go back. I find this situation unjust as it was beyond my control. I am seeking advice on how to resolve this matter and potentially be reconsidered for reemployment.

I purchased a Tracfone and a phone card from Family Dollar in Louisville, KY on 4th St. My phone isn't loading the minutes, and the store won't refund my money despite having my original receipt. They claim it's Tracfone's responsibility, but when I contacted Tracfone, they said it's the store's responsibility. The phone is useless without the minutes, and I just want a refund.

I observed that two employees were wearing headphones in the store, where most staff seemed to be young. A man was seen putting refrigerator items into a hooded bag and watching the cashier covertly, while another employee with headphones was in an aisle. I had to call out multiple times to get their attention for assistance. Despite the attempted robbery taking place right in front of them, they seemed unaware. As a loyal customer, I am concerned not only for myself but for the safety of these young workers, especially with the rise of gun-related incidents nearby. It is alarming that none of the employees noticed the suspicious behavior of the man, who appeared unkempt and potentially dangerous. I strongly believe that enhanced security measures and older staff members should be present, particularly during evening shifts at the Riverside Niagara St. location.
