During my visit to store number [redacted]54 in Fort Chiswell, VA, I encountered an incident with an employee named Brad. A prank call came through while I was there, and the caller inquired about vaginal cream. Brad proceeded to loudly mention it multiple times, despite a customer and the manager, Kim, telling him to stop. This behavior made other customers uncomfortable, and even after being instructed by the manager, Brad continued. It was unprofessional and inappropriate. I believe this kind of conduct is not suitable for an employee in a store.

My daughter briefly worked at Family Dollar Store #[redacted] in Rusk, TX. She had a scheduling issue last Friday when the manager asked her to attend a morning meeting, causing her to go to work later in regular clothes. The manager rudely sent her home for not being in uniform, despite the manager herself not always following dress code. Due to various issues including inappropriate language, lack of breaks, broken air conditioning, and rude behavior by employees, my daughter decided not to return. The store manager even contacted me using offensive language, which was unacceptable. This behavior needs to be addressed by the appropriate authorities. The manager Andrieka Hart shared personal information with my daughter, affecting her management credibility. The store's poor reputation due to cleanliness, odor problems, and unprofessional behavior should be looked into. I, Linda Cain, can provide evidence if needed.

Dear Forum Members,
I reside in Fort Kent, Maine, and I wanted to share my positive shopping experience at a local store. All the staff members have always been very helpful, which I appreciate. My last visit was on June 26th, during which I used a coupon that offers $5.00 off for spending $25.00. Recently, there have been issues with the card machines due to some repairs needed on the roof. The delay in fixing this problem is concerning, and I hope the management addresses it promptly. Despite supporting companies’ profitability, I believe timely maintenance is crucial. Today, I noticed the sign on the door still advises cash-only transactions, so I will hold off on spending there until the issue is resolved.
Best regards,
G.W.

I want to take a moment to appreciate the great work the new management is doing at my local Family Dollar store in Dayton, Ohio on E. 3rd and Findlay St. Orlando is truly awesome and is doing an excellent job of bringing order back to this location. His hard work has made a noticeable difference in such a short time, evident as soon as I walked into the store today. While it's not fully stocked yet (which is not a reflection of his efforts), Orlando's dedication to providing a convenient shopping experience close to home is commendable and not going unnoticed. Just a few months ago, I had voiced my concerns to a previous manager about the store's condition and lack of inventory, but they didn't seem to care much. Orlando, thank you for making a positive impact on our community and for restoring a pleasant shopping experience. Your hard work and dedication are truly admirable, and you deserve this recognition. Keep up the great job!

I visit your Lake Placid store about three times a week, typically spending around $50. During my recent visit, a clerk named William made me feel embarrassed. When I tried to return a toy that was not working properly, he rudely handled it, causing parts to fall out. Despite providing my receipt and the original box, he insisted it was working after spinning it around. In front of others in line, I mentioned speaking to Steve in the morning, which upset William further. I left the store in tears, abandoning a full cart of items. This is not the first time William has treated me poorly; he once refused my air wick coupons as well. His behavior towards me and other customers is unacceptable. I will not be returning due to these interactions. Thank you for taking the time to address this issue. Sincerely, Brenda.

I had a disappointing experience at your Clifton, NJ store on Van Houten Ave inside the strip mall. Two associates were rude, didn't honor the price on an item, and refused to provide me with your company's policy and procedures. I frequent your store three times a week and have never encountered issues before. Specifically, there was a pricing discrepancy on Motts 6-pack apple juice marked at $1.10 each, with multiple packs on the back-to-school aisle shelf. Despite my efforts, the so-called manager was unhelpful. This incident caused me to be late returning to work and get docked pay during my lunch break. I suggest that appropriate action be taken against these associates to ensure better customer service. This occurred between 12:30 to 1:30 pm. - Yvette J.

Store #[redacted], managed by Rashard, has left me deeply upset and embarrassed. I was confronted about my coupons in a degrading manner in front of other shoppers. Despite showing him my valid coupons, he continued to humiliate me by making derogatory comments about my phone and belittling me regarding my purchases. This behavior is unacceptable, and I have never felt so emotionally embarrassed and harassed in a shopping environment. I have consistently shopped at this location but have never encountered such disrespectful treatment from a manager. His rude conduct towards me and other customers, including elderly individuals, is appalling. I am considering seeking legal advice due to his inappropriate actions. Rashard's repeated advances and disrespectful behavior have created an unwelcoming and hostile environment. This experience has been the worst in my 27 years of customer service experience.

The Family Dollar on 99th and Maple in Omaha reportedly has a rude manager and staff. The writer had issues when trying to reach them by phone, as calls went unanswered and were hung up on after numerous rings. Despite being told the staff was busy, the writer felt the behavior was unprofessional. They also noted the store's cleanliness, organization, and employees' behavior outside, indicating areas for improvement. The writer expressed a desire for an apology from management, requested staff to refrain from smoking and socializing in front of the store, and emphasized the importance of maintaining a professional store environment.

I am a customer who visited the Family Dollar Store on Little Rock Road and had a distressing experience. While examining merchandise, a store manager named Kenneth accused me of opening a damaged mailbox. He proceeded to insult and threaten me in front of other customers. He forced me to buy an item I did not want and it is missing an item. I am extremely upset and would appreciate a prompt callback to address this issue. Please contact me at [redacted].

I am seeking assistance in getting in touch with my boss's superior. Before I was hired, I clearly explained that I could only work morning shifts due to my childcare responsibilities. When I declined bringing my child to work after my boss suggested it, I was let go following a miscommunication. Now, when I try to reapply, I am told I am not eligible for rehire. I want the opportunity to explain my side of the story to their boss. Despite being told their boss is currently unavailable, I feel it's crucial to address this situation. The store's address is [redacted] Northwest 135th Street [redacted]. It would be appreciated if I could find a way to contact the boss directly to clarify my situation and hopefully resolve any misunderstandings.

I am seeking assistance in reaching my boss's supervisor because I have encountered issues at work. Before being hired, I specified that I could only work morning shifts due to having a young child and no one to care for them during the evenings. My boss suggested I bring my child to work, which I felt was not a suitable option. When I didn't bring my child in, I was told to return the next day only to be informed that I was being let go based on my availability. Despite my prior communication about my schedule limitations, after reapplying, I was deemed ineligible for rehire without clarification. I wish to explain my situation directly to my boss's supervisor for a fair assessment. However, my boss is unwilling to provide me with her contact information, claiming she is unavailable. If anyone can assist me in contacting her, the store is located at [redacted] Northwest 135th Street [redacted], and any employee can verify the situation regarding bringing children to work.

On 9/1/21 at 11 a.m., I bought a phone at Family Dollar for a 70-year-old retired war veteran. After over 4 hours to activate it, everything seemed fine. However, the next morning, the phone's screen displayed a message in green letters on a black background that resembled a factory reset requiring a system update that can only be done with a Windows PC. Lacking a computer and unable to afford Windows, I returned to the store with the product, box, and receipt but received unhelpful customer service from Verizon and Family Dollar, each blaming the other. Frustrated, I revisited the store where an employee mentioned customers returning similar phones constantly and even blamed the person who sold it to me, Cody, the morning manager. Feeling exasperated, I request assistance regarding a refund or a working phone as per the store policy. Thank you for your help.

I was hired at the store located at 82 Northeast 135th Street, store number [redacted] in Miami, Florida for the morning shift due to having a child in school. Despite explaining my availability, the manager kept scheduling me for night shifts which I couldn't work without childcare. He even suggested bringing my child to work, which I found inappropriate. When confronted, he mentioned I needed to reapply, and later stated I was not rehireable without a valid reason. He claimed I needed someone to cover the night shift to stay on morning shifts, which I managed to arrange, but was still not allowed to work. Attempts to talk to Ricardo, the boss, were unsuccessful as I was always given excuses about her availability. I feel unfairly let go after only a week and 2 days of employment due to the manager's actions. I need assistance in resolving this situation.

I have been a long-time customer of Family Dollar in Manton, MI. Recently, I encountered a young male employee there who made inappropriate comments about customers, mentioned enjoying smoking pot, and gave incorrect information about rolling coins. This behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful. While other employees like Bill are usually great, this individual's attitude has deterred me from returning to this store. As an assistant manager myself, I understand the importance of professionalism and respect in customer service. If any of my employees behaved in a similar manner, they would face immediate consequences.

I purchased an AT&T flip phone in Wadesboro, North Carolina, at Family Dollar. Once home and set up, I noticed the screen was damaged, likely during shipping. After contacting AT&T for troubleshooting, I was advised to return it to the store. The location in Wadesboro could only offer a replacement of the same model, which they were out of stock on. Upon attempting to exchange it at another Family Dollar in Monroe, North Carolina, I was informed they couldn't assist since it was a different town. I am frustrated as I invested time in getting the phone and it arrived broken.

I've had an ongoing issue with Bree, the manager at the store located at [redacted] Jimmy Carter Blvd, Peachtree Corners, GA. A while back, I reported her behavior to the corporate office regarding a shopping cart incident. Recently, she refused to serve me despite me waiting in line patiently. When I asked for assistance due to the weight of my items and the lack of another cashier available, she rudely told me to leave and accused me of theft. She didn't check the security cameras or involve the authorities when I requested it. I believe she may be unfairly targeting me based on my background, as she has made discriminatory comments and failed to provide proper service. It seems like she is using her authority to retaliate against me for contacting corporate earlier.

I visit your store more than seven times a week at store number [redacted] on [redacted] North Walnut St., Muncie, IN. There is an employee with green hair who has been consistently rude to my husband and me for the past year. Her behavior is unacceptable, and as senior citizens, we do not deserve this treatment, especially since we spend a significant amount of money at your store annually. This incident occurred on October 2 at 4:15 PM, and I can no longer tolerate her disrespectful attitude towards us. I have tried to ignore it for almost a year, but her behavior has not improved. I felt compelled to bring this to your attention on my last visit because her rudeness is unacceptable in a customer service role. Please address this issue as the rest of your staff is polite and helpful, but her demeanor is completely inappropriate. Thank you for listening to my concerns.

My mother and I borrowed a shopping cart to transport our groceries home from Family Dollar since we don't have a car. We had permission to bring the cart from the riverside store previously. However, on this recent visit, there was a confrontation with an employee who claimed we couldn't use our own cart. A person named Lucky, whom I spoke with previously, assured us we could. Unfortunately, my elderly mother had a distressing experience during her shopping trip when another employee threatened to involve the police and took away the cart. This mistreatment is unacceptable. I have consulted with my lawyer, and I am taking legal action against the individuals involved. I am disappointed with how Family Dollar handled the situation. Please contact me promptly at [redacted]. It's frustrating that my mother left the store empty-handed after trying to purchase groceries for my kids. This entire ordeal is unnecessary, and I hope for a swift resolution.

I visited the Family Dollar in New Albany, Indiana on Friday, October 8. Upon entering, I saw the party supplies aisle was blocked by inventory totes. I was trying to get a red tablecloth when an employee yelled at me. I explained I was just trying to reach the tablecloth, but the employee was rude and disrespectful, making me leave in tears. I shop at this store frequently spending $[redacted] to $[redacted] a week. Most employees are pleasant, but this lady's behavior was unacceptable. She didn't wear a name badge, and when I asked for her name, she rudely replied. I hope others don't have a similar experience. Family Dollar, you need to improve. One bad employee can ruin the reputation.

Hello, my name is Faith B. I have attempted to contact your store in Sikeston, Missouri regarding an incident. While making a purchase, an employee, a white male with tattoos, made inappropriate comments that made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. As I approached the checkout, he asked a disrespectful question and made a remark on my appearance that I consider to be sexual harassment. Despite the fact that I was clearly wearing a wedding ring, his behavior was unacceptable. I felt so distressed by this encounter that I even had to share it with my husband. I hope that Family Dollar takes the necessary steps to address this issue because it is essential for customers to feel safe and respected in your store. Thank you.
