I am currently using two ESET antivirus programs. One is installed on my home HP PC running Windows 10, which is working fine. The other one is on my iMac at work and has been causing me several issues. I recently renewed the subscription for this program online in November [redacted]. However, yesterday I noticed that the Safari app disappeared from the toolbar, and I received a security breach message claiming to be from Apple, stating that a Trojan Spyware had infected my computer. The message instructed me to call a provided phone number. Due to my hearing impairment, I struggled to understand the individual who answered, so I suspected it was not a legitimate Apple representative. I then attempted to reach out to ESET via email for assistance, only to be informed that my subscription was not valid or activated. Can someone please assist me?

I contacted Eset to renew my subscription and received an email with an invoice. Without visiting any site, I was instructed to download an update. However, I prefer to have a technician assist me due to issues with my partitions. Since opening the email on 4/22/[redacted] at 11:10 AM PST, my cursor seems to be constantly downloading. I read on Thunderbird Email client Q&A's that others experienced similar problems after an Eset update. For business inquiries, please use [redacted] as I can't access my [redacted] email. Cox confirmed incoming messages for my eyemydesign account on their server. The Thunderbird suggestion was to disable Eset, but I am unsure how to do this with the newer interface that lacks a visible stop or off link.

I am having trouble changing my login password. The error message reads: "change your password. This service is not available right now. Please wait until later." I'm unsure if this issue is due to a virus on the laptop or if it's related to my ESET Smart Security Premium software, which is up to date. I attempted to disable device security and scanned for viruses but found none. Despite that, I still can't change my password. I am using Windows 8.1, and all maintenance is up to date. I'm concerned whether my software has been altered for cybersecurity purposes since the password change option only states "later." Please advise at your earliest convenience.

I want to share a cautionary tale about a recent scam involving someone posing as ESET to fix my son's computer. He encountered this when seeking help to recover his hacked FB account. The fake support claimed to be from “ESET Premium Technical Support” and accessed his computer remotely, alleging issues from China. Fortunately, I consulted with the real ESET team and had a local technician inspect and clean the computer for $[redacted]. The scammers provided numbers like 1-[redacted] and 1-[redacted], associated with ONE GUARD SOLUTIONS LLC. I received multiple calls from numbers like 3-[redacted], which remains unidentified. I have since changed most passwords but seek advice on any additional steps to protect my devices.
