I have an old bill for $[redacted] for a roller I had rented out to family. While I was in jail, my mom incurred additional charges that she left in my name. I wanted to take her to court, but I ended up back in prison. I was released on January 30th to find out that my fiancé passed away on January 25th and was buried on January 28th. The lights have been turned off since November, and I won't have money until March 3rd due to disability. Can we find a way to resolve this together?

Hello,
My father recently left a nursing home after two months, where his stepson stayed. Unfortunately, the stepson misused his social security check, bought drugs, and neglected to pay bills. He also sold off and damaged all belongings in the house. My father is trying to get the power reconnected to fix the house and move back in. Is there any way to reduce the $[redacted] bill created by his stepson and maybe split it into smaller payments for a quicker reconnection? My father, a loyal customer for 40 years, has always been reliable. We are eager to have him back home soon. Thank you for any help.

My name is Sarah C. and I reside at [redacted] Mockernut Ct., Columbus, IN. I appreciate the new cable installation in my area. However, the process has left my front yard in a mess with multiple holes dug. Although I was informed that Duke would fill and seed the holes, sand was used instead. After the heavy rain, the dirt and grass I added sank, possibly due to the sand. Another hole is currently being worked on with a truck full of sand. I am wondering if Duke can provide the assistance initially mentioned. Thank you.

I am having trouble reaching Duke Energy as their customer service numbers are now closed. I am frustrated with the experience I just had. I called to inquire about extending my bill payment for the first time and also had a question about a credit balance on my account. After getting through to payment options, I was quickly redirected to customer service, which was not who I needed to speak with, and they were closed. Upon calling back and enduring the automated system again, I found out that the phone lines were closed, and I couldn't reach anyone. This has been the worst customer service encounter I've had with Duke. I am very upset about being neglected and unable to extend my bill payment, especially since it's Friday and not a business day. I will try again on Monday if I don't receive a response.

We, a married couple, want to add both of our names to our Duke Energy account. When we reached out, the Duke Energy representatives we spoke with were kind but did not know the process for joint account ownership. We also contacted the Department of Agriculture but encountered the same issue. Someone mentioned visiting the Duke Energy building in person, but according to Duke Energy representatives, only employees are typically allowed inside. We appreciate any help with this matter as we believe many others may have a similar request. Our account was established in [redacted].

Our power was shut off illegally. According to Indiana law, power cannot be terminated from December 1 to March 15. Despite this, our power was disconnected when it was 28 degrees outside, causing discomfort. The disconnection also occurred on December 15, a month before the permitted date. We believe the power company should reconnect our service and clear our account balance to $0, allowing us to start fresh. We have endured three days of freezing temperatures due to their error.

I am from D&S Taylor Electric, Inc., an electrical contractor in Lafayette, IN. Recently, we replaced the service entrance on a fire-damaged single-family dwelling with a [redacted]/[redacted] 200A 1P overhead drop using Square D residential MDP and Type SE Style U 600V XHHW AA-[redacted] AL 2/C 4/0 AWG conductors. The installation passed inspection by AHJD in Lafayette, and Duke linemen connected it, verifying proper voltage but later removing the drop due to concerns. We re-inspected, found no faults, and conducted tests; the issue seems to be a capacitive current path within the SE cable. Further tests with a temporary pole yielded similar voltage readings. If you need more information, please reach out to Joe Klinger from D&S Taylor Electric at [redacted] (mobile).

Hello, I would like to discuss an account that appears on my credit report that I believe I did not open. I am seeking information about the address associated with the account linked to Duke Energy, details regarding any payments made, including the payment method and billing address if available. My intention is to verify the transactions and prove that I am not the account holder. While I do not require the full card number, obtaining the last four digits would assist me in cross-referencing my past debit cards. Ultimately, I aim to confirm the payment details, including the billing address of the debit card used, and obtain the address linked to the account to dispute my involvement. I hope to resolve this matter promptly. Thank you for your assistance. Best, S.P.

I recently moved on January 13th and encountered issues with the managers attempting to put bills in my name, despite having documentation showing otherwise. This led to a freeze on my account with Duke Energy, and a letter I received mentioned the possibility of taking civil action. The managers contacted Duke Energy on my behalf today and there were discrepancies mentioned regarding a ledger and additional fees I supposedly owe. This situation has resulted in numerous threats and stress since January 13th, causing me a great deal of anxiety, especially with early morning calls before business hours. I have been advised by the Jeffersonville Housing Authority to seek legal representation. I am reaching out to Legal Aid in New Albany and Legal Aid in Louisville to address these issues. The stress and unjust actions taken by the managers have taken a toll on my mental and emotional well-being. Sincerely, Ms. H.
