I want to report the bad treatment I received from a manager at the Santa Maria gym. In fact, she threatened me with security. I just wanted her to explain a charge on my daughter's membership since I had canceled mine, but they only canceled mine and not my daughter's, resulting in extra charges. The manager accused me of intending to use the gym facilities without a membership when all I wanted to explain was that due to an injury and recent surgery, I couldn't exercise, which is why I canceled as I haven't used the gym in over a year. I was just making payments. There are two managers at the gym, an American and a Mexican, and it was the Mexican manager who treated me this way. This gym is in Santa Maria, CA.

I have experienced numerous issues with the lack of common sense and respect from the personal trainers at the gym. When I brought a guest, they were in front of the bench I needed, and a personal trainer rudely handled the situation by placing his hands on my friend's back. The manager I spoke with seemed unbothered by my complaint. Additionally, my guest was suddenly told they had to pay $5.00 to use the hydro massage chair, which has never been enforced before. These incidents have made me question the integrity of the gym. The staff's behavior has been disrespectful and embarrassing. I feel like cancelling my membership due to the lack of professionalism and care for members' experiences. The changes since Crunch Fitness took over have negatively impacted the gym's welcoming atmosphere I once enjoyed for three years.

I have been a member of the Crunch Gym on Andrews Ave in Oakland Park Blvd. in Oakland Park, FL since they opened. I do cardio almost every day at this location, usually in front of TV #8 which always had the Velocity Channel. Recently, the channel was changed, and despite my request to have it put back, the staff seemed unable to fulfill this simple request. They mentioned they were not allowed to change the channel, which was disheartening. I was promised when I joined that the Velocity Channel would always be on TV #8. This inconsistency in service has left me feeling undervalued as a customer. I appreciate the variety of cardio machines available, but the poor customer service experience is disappointing. I plan to address this matter with the manager to ensure this issue is resolved promptly.

Account #[redacted]
Name: Alma R.
Hello,
On May 24, [redacted], I cancelled my membership at the gym as I did not have any pending bills. I spoke with one of the gym associates who assured me my account was fully paid and would not be charged further. However, on October 15, [redacted], I received a letter from a collection company, Aldous & Associates, claiming I had a delinquent balance of $22.95.
I immediately contacted Crunch in Richmond Hill and spoke with Gabrielle. She confirmed the charge was a mistake and said she would send an email to the collection company to rectify the error. Upon a follow-up call with the collection company, they mentioned not receiving any communication from Gabrielle.
I am concerned as they threatened to report my account to the Credit Bureaus if payment is not made soon. I find it unfair as I never received a bill or any prior notice of the outstanding balance. I am willing to pay the $22.95 to resolve this issue promptly but feel frustrated by the situation.
Any assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Alma R.

It's 7:04 pm, and I'm sitting in my van at Crunch in Deltona, FL. I accidentally locked my van keys in a locker inside, and the bolt cutter at the gym broke when I tried to remove the lock. I searched the neighborhood for another pair, but no one had any. I found some bolts to replace the broken ones, but they also broke. The manager apologized and left for the night, so I'm stuck in the parking lot unable to leave because my car and home keys are in the locker. It's frustrating that the manager didn't make an effort to find another pair. I thankfully left a door unlocked in my van, so I can stay in it for the night. I wish the manager had tried to get another pair of bolt cutters. I'm on social security and can't afford a locksmith. My daughter is out of town for Halloween, so I'm here in the parking lot for the night. I believe the manager could have handled the situation better.

The Crunch in Deltona, FL is closed now at 11:03 PM. Unfortunately, my keys are locked inside the locker, and I cannot unlock it as the keys are inside. I tried to use the small bolt cutter they have here, but it broke. When I asked the manager for help, he didn't offer me a ride to get a new one, even though I said I would replace it. I even asked an employee to call another gym like Planet Fitness to borrow one, but they refused. It's frustrating when there's no customer service especially when I'm on disability and can't afford a cab. The lack of assistance in this situation is disappointing.

I visited the Crunch location in Dearborn on Ford Rd. three days ago. The staff member at the front desk provided a tour and answered my questions. He suggested I try the gym for the day before joining, and I decided to sign up for a one-year basic membership for $[redacted]. I planned to return later to pay and join but could only make it today. To my surprise, the price had increased by $40, and the manager refused to honor the original price. The lack of communication about the price increase was unprofessional on their part.

When I signed up for the monthly gym membership, they insisted on taking a picture of me. This requirement was not specified in the contract I signed. Despite explaining this to the manager, I still had to get approval from someone higher up. Now, every time I visit the gym with my Keychain membership card, I am consistently asked to show my ID, even though my membership is active. Recently, the manager called to inform me that I must show my ID every visit, even if I have my card. The contract section (3.2) regarding proof of membership only mentions showing the card unless it's not available, at which point an ID would be required. I feel like the staff is enforcing rules that are not in the contract, creating an uncomfortable situation. I hope to resolve this by only showing ID when necessary, as stated in the contract.

I wanted to reach out regarding my experience at the Crunch gym in Mt. Prospect, IL. After being a member for 2 years, I generally enjoy the facility, although I have some concerns. While the trainers and classes are great, I find the Front Desk staff unfriendly and the music selection, primarily rap, not to my liking. I have requested a change to rock music without success. The diverse clientele would likely appreciate a variety of music genres. Despite emailing my concerns to the gym, I received a generic response but no follow-up. I hope to address these issues and improve the overall atmosphere at the gym. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

I had a disagreement with the area manager in Columbus, Ohio. He mentioned I shouldn't complain about club conditions repeatedly as a member. I brought up an incident from months back when a woman was cleaning the men's locker room with a naked man inside, expressing my right to complain. Our discussion escalated, and I warned I might seek legal advice due to his comments. Things got heated, and I reacted emotionally. The manager, who owns Crunch Fitness in Columbus, went ahead and canceled my membership. He seemed displeased when I mentioned contacting corporate to file a complaint about his behavior.

I would like to file a complaint regarding my experience with a Crunch Fitness front desk staff member named Amaeya on November 30, [redacted]. When I arrived at the fitness center, Amaeya questioned my presence with a remark, "What are you doing here?" despite being a member. She requested to speak with a manager, leaving me waiting for about 3 minutes. After some communication, she eventually allowed me to proceed with my workout, mentioning that the manager would speak with me later. This encounter left me feeling disrespected, insulted, and frustrated.
During my time at the gym, I have never encountered such disrespectful behavior before. Approximately a week ago, I previously reported an incident involving Amaeya where I explicitly requested not to disclose my personal and financial details to other gym-goers. It was concerning to observe a male individual hovering around her while she accessed the computer system for an extended period. My primary concern is the safeguarding of my personal and financial information within the gym environment.

During the summer, my membership was paused, and personal training was terminated. I recently returned in August to Crunch Fitness in Simi Valley and spoke with Daniel. He reactivated my membership and addressed the personal training situation. Despite my previous cancellation requests, I was still being charged $[redacted] per month for the personal training sessions. Daniel assured me he would resolve this issue, but upon checking, the charges are still ongoing. When my husband discovered this during our Thanksgiving visit, we were disappointed. The club mentioned they would discuss the matter with their superiors, but refunds for personal training are typically not granted. I fulfilled my end by informing Daniel twice about canceling the training. It's frustrating that these charges persist, especially since Daniel is no longer at the same location. I urge Crunch Fitness to contact him and promptly refund the three months of charges to my husband's bank account.

I, Shailesh P., recently joined this fitness club two months ago and was given a promotional gift card last week. When I brought my wife for a trial, she was denied entry due to visiting the facility once before. Although we understood the guest policy, my wife was made to stand instead of being allowed to wait seated while picking up the car keys. When I raised concerns about the poor customer service, an employee at the front desk became confrontational and suggested I seek membership elsewhere. Feeling humiliated, I requested to cancel my membership as of 12/9/[redacted], having already paid dues until 12/16/[redacted], including the annual fee of $63. The facility also charged an additional $99 for early termination, which I did not intend to do.
Desired Outcome:
I would like the facility to adjust the billing by removing the early termination fee, as their unprofessional behavior led me to this decision. Ideally, I would also appreciate a prorated refund of the annual fee, considering I used the services for 2 months.

I recently joined Crunch Fitness in Old Bridge, NJ, and was disappointed by the way my wife and I were treated during a recent visit. Despite being offered a promotional gift card, my wife was denied entry due to a previous visit. I was surprised by this guest policy but accepted it. However, the front desk staff was disrespectful and unhelpful, even going as far as threatening to call the police. Feeling humiliated, I decided to cancel my membership on 12/9/[redacted]. I paid all dues until 12/16/[redacted], including the annual fee of $63. The facility also charged an additional $99 for early termination, which I did not intend.
Desired Outcome: I request that the facility remove the early termination charge due to the unprofessional behavior we experienced. Additionally, I would like a prorated refund of the $63 annual fee for the two months of service I utilized.

Hello,
I am reaching out about the recent cancellation of my membership and ban from Crunch Mortdale in NSW, Australia.
I have been a loyal member for over 4 years and have developed strong relationships with both the staff and other members.
The new manager, Phil, has made allegations based on opinions and assumptions from a few personal trainers stating that I am receiving payment for training at the gym.
I have always respected the free training policy at Crunch and have not violated any rules. Despite my experience and results in fitness, Phil and some trainers suspect me of conducting personal training sessions due to my competence.
It is common to see members working out together at the gym, with varying levels of expertise. I believe I am being unfairly targeted due to my knowledge and physical appearance.
I have never accepted money for training sessions and feel unjustly treated. I urge for a prompt investigation into this matter to address the situation.
Regards,
Nick

I'm reaching out because my wife terminated her membership, only to be incorrectly charged as a member when she visited as my guest. Despite having proof of cancellation, the manager insists her membership was never canceled. Now, they've enlisted a collection agency for unpaid charges accumulated over several months, even though we haven't used the facilities in over 10 months. If this matter isn't resolved promptly, I will involve my legal counsel. Many others seem to be facing similar issues, which could ultimately affect your franchise's profitability. The general manager mentioned waiving the reapplication fee if my wife rejoins, but we have no interest in continuing our association with Crunch Fitness, nor do our acquaintances. I have the next two weeks free to address this situation accordingly. - Regards, P. Hasler

I began working at Crunch Fitness Oceanside in February this year. Despite agreeing to a graveyard shift, I was informed later that only morning shifts were available. I accepted this change and was working at the Carlsbad location until Oceanside opened. However, upon trying to transfer back to Oceanside, I faced difficulties reaching out to my manager. Despite attempts to contact them via calls and texts, there was no response. I did not resign nor was I terminated formally. I believe communication regarding my employment status was lacking and this left me in an uncertain position. I wanted to share my disappointing experience to ensure such issues are avoided in the future.

My spouse and I were gifted a three-day pass to visit your facility, and we were curious about the pricing and the new equipment. Currently, we are members at Movati Brantford, located near Crunch. We observed a lack of cleanliness upon arrival and departure from our workout session. The men's changing room, bathroom, and showers were notably dirty and required thorough cleaning. There were signs of neglect like mucus on walls, dirty floors, and unclean gym equipment. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, emphasizing the significance of maintaining a sanitary gym environment to prevent the spread of bacteria and infections. The staff member mentioned one overnight cleaner responsible for all areas, but it was evident that the cleaning had been overlooked for some time. I explained the importance of proper hygiene, especially in shared spaces like bathrooms and gyms to prevent the spread of infections. Hopefully, this feedback will prompt an improvement in cleanliness at your gym.
Sincerely,
Mr & Mrs G. Brown

I would like to address an incident that occurred at the Somerset location. I have been a member since the gym opened and returned in February [redacted]. I am a regular visitor and enjoy the classes offered, like spin class, despite the additional charges. I often share my workout experiences at Crunch on social media and recommend the gym due to its proximity to my home. Today, I was at the gym with friends and we were accused of personal training without authorization. We explained that we were old friends from high school who enjoy working out together. Despite our explanations, the manager asked us to leave, stating our services were not needed. I was hurt by the way we were treated. I have observed friends working out together at the gym without any issues in the past. However, when my black friend and I trained together, we faced discrimination. The manager even called the police claiming we were trespassing. We pay for our memberships and feel unfairly targeted. We have recorded the incident and would like to contact the corporate office to address this situation. The manager revoked our memberships, stating there are other gyms more suitable for us, which I find unacceptable. I hope to resolve this matter promptly. Thank you for your attention.

I joined the Killeen, TX gym in August before it opened. I made payments in November but later realized my account wasn't linked to the mobile app. Melissa, who I thought was a manager but is a team lead, was helpful. However, the manager refused to speak with me when I asked. I handed my card details to Melissa as instructed. Even though I could contact my bank for records, dealing with Bank of America's long hold times is frustrating. This unresolved issue makes me hesitant to continue going to the gym.
