I rented an apartment after a virtual tour and discovered no gas has been available since March 17, [redacted]. Consequently, I'm unable to use the gas stove for cooking. There are no outlets above the kitchen cabinets for small appliances like an induction eye or toaster oven, and the one available outlet is already powering the microwave and refrigerator, potentially causing a fire hazard if overloaded. The building's super claims repairs have been completed, and Con Ed just needs to restore the gas service. However, I'm unsure if I'm receiving accurate information from the super and leasing agent.
