I encountered a bit of a dilemma that I could use your help in resolving. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I visited the UK from the USA and kept six £20 notes for my next trip. On my recent visit, I tried to use one of the £20 notes, only to find out it had been withdrawn from circulation in September [redacted]. I attempted to resolve this at a nearby Barclays branch on a Saturday, but the sole staff member present couldn't assist me. I'm wondering if there's a way to exchange these outdated notes for current ones or if I've essentially lost £[redacted]. Despite not having an account with Barclays, I do have two credit cards issued by Barclays in the USA. Any guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. A few months ago, I submitted a PPI claim against Barclays due to mishandling of finances. Cheval Legal, the law firm representing me, indicated that Barclays owes me money. They have been updating me on the claim's progress, but recently, I received an email stating I owe Barclays £4,[redacted].23, hindering the claim's progress. This is the first time I've heard of this debt, and I firmly believe I do not owe Barclays any money. I have no credit cards, mortgages, or loans with Barclays. Please verify if I am indeed in debt to Barclays. Thank you.
