I received a notice from BOW on 8/23/18 about my RV loan (#[redacted]82) payment issue. I made the payment on 8/9/18 via Western Union but it was not processed due to a returned item from my bank account and a $25.00 service fee. Despite regularly paying before the due date, I faced difficulties reaching a human customer service rep when I called BOW six times. After using the automated service, I found no record of a due or past payment. Today, I made a payment over the phone. However, there was no deduction from my account on 8/9/18 when I checked online. I usually do not monitor my account online. After researching on Google, I found a way to speak with a human rep at BOW. I spoke with Tammy, explaining my situation and inquiring about the $25.00 surcharge. I was not informed by Western Union about the failed payment. I asked if there could be better notification in the future to avoid such issues and if the fee could be waived. Unfortunately, the fee had already been processed, and no direct line was provided for speaking with a live human at BOW. Tammy suggested using the 1-[redacted] number and following the prompts. Thank you for your assistance. Margaret M. Quagliano.

Hello! I recently took out a new loan with the number #[redacted]34. My first payment of $[redacted].85 was due on 9/9/18, and my account is set up for direct debit/auto payment. Despite receiving a letter confirming this arrangement, the payment has not been debited from my account.
I want to ensure that the payment will be processed as intended or make a phone payment if necessary until the auto payment is properly set up. However, I have been unable to reach Bank of the West through the phone numbers I have available. Additionally, I encountered issues setting up mobile banking as the system does not recognize the information provided.
I seek advice on ensuring timely payment to avoid late charges.
Thank you.

A company I hired recently provided services on my computer and even offered me a refund as they are going out of business. Initially, I believed the refund would be credited back to my credit card, but later realized it would be issued to my bank account. I allowed them one more access to my computer to try to process the refund but encountered difficulties during the deposit. Concerned about the security of my checking account, I'm contemplating changing my username and closing the current account. I am seeking advice on whether it's necessary to take these steps. Feel free to ask for more details if needed. Thank you.

I recently had a levy placed on my account without prior notification. I was unaware of the court appearance resulting in the judgment. Even though the hold led to $[redacted] in overdraft fees, which I find excessive. After speaking with a supervisor over the phone, $[redacted] of the charges were refunded. However, I still need the remaining $[redacted] reversed since they were all from transactions on the same day. As a single individual without family support, these fees are burdensome. If not resolved, I may have to let the account be charged off by BOW and sent to collections. The creditor responsible for the hold is open to resolving the issue for $[redacted], but I urge my bank to consider my situation as well for the remaining $[redacted].

I'm Barbara.
Earlier today on 8/2/19 around 3:45 pm, we contacted customer service at [redacted] to order checks. My mother-in-law has difficulty with English but managed to provide her personal and account details to the representative. I offered to translate, but the representative refused. Despite my mother-in-law repeating her account number more than twice, the representative couldn't understand and asked for it again. When I requested to speak to the supervisor, my request was denied. The representative insisted she couldn't help my mother-in-law order checks unless she answered all questions. After my mother-in-law answered, the representative abruptly said she couldn't assist and disconnected the call after taking down personal information. It's concerning to encounter such poor customer service at Bank of the West's call center.

I have a deferred compensation contract with Bank of the West that came through my former employer, Bank. Normally, I receive monthly payments by the end of each month, but as of February 3, [redacted], I have not received the January 31, [redacted] ACH payment. In the past, I have interacted with the special benefits department of HR to resolve such issues. Can you please provide me with a contact name, phone number, and email address? Thank you, C. Chew. (I recently received my [redacted] W-2 and am in your payroll system.)

I would like to understand why my banking privileges were revoked. Could you please clarify the reasons for this action? I am unsure if it was due to opening too many disputes, frequently calling to unlock my account, requesting reversals of disputes too often, or sending numerous security messages. I would appreciate if you could explain which terms of service I violated and what a regulatory violation entails. Kindly specify the exact cause behind the revocation of my banking privileges. Should you need to contact me, you can reach me via email at [redacted] or by phone at [redacted]. Did I exceed the appropriate number of calls to the ReachSurch department to inquire about the status of claims or to reverse claims?

Three years ago, I paid off my car loan ahead of time through Bank of the West. However, I never received a confirmation letter stating that the loan was settled. I believed that the letter was sent to the state of Montana where my car title is kept. Today, I contacted Helena to inquire about the situation, and they informed me that the lien is still present on the title and they have not been in contact with Bank of the West. I spent a considerable amount of time waiting on hold, reconnecting four times with the longest wait reaching an hour and 48 minutes, only to have my cellphone battery die before reaching a resolution.

Hello, I am Michael Maloney, and I am currently financing an RV with Bank of the West using account number [redacted]85. I have decided to put my RV on consignment and have now received a cash offer for its sale. I am seeking guidance on how to pay off the remaining balance on the loan and transfer the title to the new owner efficiently. It is imperative to know the estimated timeline for this entire process as the potential buyer is eager to register the vehicle promptly for summer usage. I kindly request urgent assistance to ensure the smooth completion of this sale transaction. Unfortunately, all attempts to reach out via the provided telephone number on your website have been unsuccessful, resulting in dropped calls without any interaction with a live agent. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Whenever I call, the automated system guides me through a series of options that always loop back to the main menu, preventing me from reaching a representative. It can be frustrating to spend around 5 minutes just to be placed on hold.
Recently, I spoke with a representative who acknowledged that my 50-minute hold time was excessive.
At this juncture, I am considering refinancing my boat loan with another bank primarily due to the subpar call system at BOTW. Their system seems lacking compared to what other businesses offer.

I've spent countless hours on hold, only to be disconnected five times. Tonight, a representative put me on hold after answering and never returned. Initially advised by a representative that a payoff check I mailed might take a month to process, I stopped the payment and wired the money as suggested. However, my bank failed to stop the check and also wired the money. All I needed from the lady tonight was to reset my password since my account was blocked after one incorrect attempt, but she didn't even do that. I held the line until closing. I can't wait for my loan to be fully paid off so I can sever ties with this company.

Hello, I recently purchased an RV that arrived with numerous issues. I have filed a warranty claim with Couches RV Nation, but have yet to receive any follow-up from the company. Despite paying for several upgrades, I only received the mattress. I am missing the free-standing dinette with chairs, separate black and gray water outlets, and the $[redacted] sealer for the inside and outside. The RV came with metal shavings, sawdust, and staples scattered throughout, and the delivery drivers damaged the rear stabilizer jacks. Additionally, there was a cracked elbow in the water heater outlet, causing leaks. The lack of sealer is evident as there is sawdust everywhere and water passes through the carpet and couch fabric. Furthermore, the main bed seal was unsealed in a plastic bag.

I have been struggling for weeks to unlock my online bank account. I recently forgot my username, and the bank locked my account for security reasons. Despite understanding the need for this precaution, I have been unsuccessful in reaching someone by phone for assistance. I relocated to Florida on June 8th, [redacted], and suspect my account was locked just before my move. I am unsure of what steps to take next. Access to my funds is crucial for bill payments and settling into my new home. This ordeal has taken a toll on my well-being, making it difficult to eat. I urgently need to transfer my funds from BOTW in Montclair Village, Oakland, CA to Bank of America in Zephyrhills, FL. Please, I am reaching out for help and support in resolving this matter promptly. My name is Patty P., aged 64, and any guidance to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I have been attempting for over 2 weeks to create an online account to make a payment on a new Bank of the West credit card. Bank of the West seems to have an unusually strict approval process for setting up online access, more so than obtaining the card itself. After encountering numerous issues such as being locked out of the account and failed password resets, I tried reaching Customer Service but could not get through despite multiple attempts. Eventually, upon speaking with a supervisor, it was acknowledged that my account had been set up incorrectly and was to be corrected for me to register again; however, I am still waiting for approval. Even after being told it may take another week, I am incredibly frustrated with the length of time it is taking just to gain access to my account for a simple payment. I have decided to pay off the card, cancel it, and sever ties with Bank of the West due to their inadequate policies and poor communication. Although the individuals I've interacted with tried their best, the bank's procedures and lack of communication have made the process excessively troublesome.

I have been a loyal customer of Bank of the West for 30 years, and my mortgage is also with them. Recently, I have been dealing with health issues, including high blood pressure, exacerbated by the current situation. I am writing to address a complaint about the fees on my checking account. Despite having some fees reversed, I am struggling to recover due to continuous overdraft fees totaling over $[redacted]. Even though I make deposits, these fees push me back into overdraft. I would greatly appreciate it if a senior manager could contact me to discuss this matter further. I have noticed other banks being more understanding during these challenging times. You can reach me at +[redacted]8. Thank you, Arlene Dyne.

Subject: Claim Application
I am writing from the Philippines to claim the deposit of the late Mr. Ivan Brian, who passed away in Spain in [redacted] without a will. I am the beneficiary of his fixed deposit account numbered [redacted]. Enclosed, you will find a copy of his deposit certificate and the last correspondence regarding the account.
Recently, I received a parcel concerning the deposit from an individual who claimed to be a friend of the deceased, prompting me to act swiftly. I discovered that if the deposit is not claimed by 03/30/[redacted] it will be transferred to the treasury department. As a close friend of Mr. Ivan Brian, I wish to prevent this and am therefore formally applying for the claim.
While I cannot personally travel to the United States to make the claim, I am willing to provide my bank account information for the transfer of funds upon approval. I kindly ask for your prompt attention and approval of my application.
Sincerely,
H.P. Sapalicio Jr.

I recently discovered a fraudulent $[redacted] check from our account at a different bank in Montana. The check was completely forged, using our account number and bank's routing number. The bank listed on the check does not have a branch in the town mentioned. The check was processed by Bank of the West. I tried contacting the corporate office for information on the customer who cashed the check, but despite several attempts, I was unable to reach the fraud department. This lack of customer service is concerning, especially when dealing with fraudulent activities. It is important for banks to be more accessible in such situations to prevent fraud, especially among vulnerable individuals like older people.
