My name is Jerry D. from [redacted] Amberton Court, Duluth, Georgia. Unfortunately, I did not receive my paper on Monday as expected. Despite being told it would be redelivered, it did not arrive. When I reached out on Tuesday, I was informed that only a credit could be issued since weekday papers cannot be delivered on different days. I believe it is important to fulfill commitments made to customers. Moreover, I was not informed about the delivery issue, denying me the opportunity to purchase the paper elsewhere. After expressing my disappointment, I was promised a supervisor would contact me within 24 to 48 hours, which I find frustrating considering the situation. While I strive not to complain regularly, missing deliveries, including a Sunday paper, and inconsistent delivery placement have been ongoing issues.

I am reaching out about some concerning content I came across today on Dawg Nation regarding the University of Florida. Mike Griffin and Brandon Adams made derogatory remarks about UF, its players, and coaches. Adams went as far as calling UF a clown program, insulting a player, and disrespecting coach Dan Mullen. Griffin published an article falsely accusing a Florida player of choking a Georgia player. It seems the journalistic standards of the AJC have declined if this disrespectful behavior is allowed for the sake of internet traffic. Rivalry banter is one thing, but Adams and Griffin crossed the line with their recent podcast and article. As a UF graduate and a college football fan, I appreciate competitiveness, but attacking the character of players, coaches, and a respected university is unacceptable. AJC should uphold higher standards for its writers and podcast contributors. I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism displayed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am a retired teacher and I need to get in touch with a journalist who covers stories about the State Health Benefits mistreating retired teachers. Recently, due to an error with my Part B from Social Security - which was eventually corrected - the State Benefit abruptly terminated my insurance without informing me or seeking clarification. Despite my numerous attempts to reach out to them to resolve the issue, I received no response. Only after contacting Social Security did I discover the root of the problem, but the State Benefit refused to accept the information. They placed me in a costly private plan without my consent, resulting in a $19,[redacted] bill. Now, they insist I pay this amount before they will reinstate my insurance. It is frustrating that the only calls I receive from the State Benefit are regarding payment. I have detailed documentation proving their incompetence and lack of communication, highlighting their unfair treatment towards me as a retired teacher. Their system is flawed, creating a disconnect between the affected individuals and those handling their cases. I am prepared to showcase the truth using my notes, operator's information, and timelines.

I, Carol T., contacted customer service today, 6/12, to cancel my subscription. I called [redacted], and Cindy answered the call. During the conversation, I requested to cancel, and she initially mentioned I didn't have an active account, questioning my need to cancel. Despite my request to speak with her supervisor, she declined. After a while, she later acknowledged my active account, which had been canceled the previous week. She eventually apologized, realizing I was considering reporting her. However, Cindy refused to provide her full name or employee number. I am disappointed by the customer service experience, and believe that representatives should be more attentive to customer concerns and accurate in their responses. This situation with the representative was quite frustrating.

I recently subscribed to the Sunday home delivery service and was disappointed not to receive my paper as promised on the first day. Despite calling the designated number before 9am, I was met with a closed office message, leaving me frustrated by the lack of customer service support. My previous experience with a local newspaper led me to switch to a larger service like this, hoping for better reliability. However, this initial hiccup has left me dissatisfied and questioning the reliability of this subscription. I will be contacting the company first thing Monday to address this issue and hope for a resolution. Thank you.

I am a 79-year-old resident of a senior building. We've been informed that census takers will be coming to our apartments, and I am questioning the necessity of this in-person visit when the census can be conducted online, by mail, or phone. I feel this could be an invasion of privacy and an added burden on the elderly, especially those with limited mobility. I am uncomfortable with this planned visit and would like more information on the census questions and how the homeless population will be counted. I have spent the night pondering why a face-to-face visit is required for older individuals during the census. Any assistance in understanding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A tribute to Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. from a grateful Army Veteran and Civil Service Employee. I, Jeannette Y., versus Secretary of the Army. As a former female Army Sergeant, I experienced assault and trauma during my service, leading to a violation of my civil rights. After a long legal battle, the Army was found guilty and ordered to compensate me for damages and provide disability benefits. Despite the ruling, they continue to cause distress. Inspired by Dr. King's spirit, I persist in seeking justice and respect. By sharing my story, I hope to honor his legacy and inspire change in the upcoming election. Facing challenges with my health and housing, I strive to stand up peacefully against injustices. Seeking support to overcome these obstacles and continue fighting for what is right. Sincerely, Jeannette Yasko-G.

We are experiencing an ongoing issue with newspaper delivery in our community.
Our address, [redacted] Somerset Circle, Woodstock, GA [redacted], along with others, is not receiving the paper.
On September 12, [redacted], around 4:15 a.m., a loud noise woke me up. After investigating, I discovered our mailbox in the gutter with red taillight pieces nearby. Given that we live in a gated 55+ community with limited early morning traffic, the incident seems related to the newspaper delivery.
After reporting the damaged mailbox to AJC customer service, we communicated with Jim Lane, the distribution supervisor, and Sherry, the carrier for our area. Despite Sherry denying involvement, she agreed to pay for the new mailbox, citing financial strain at the high cost of $[redacted].14 for the mailbox and installation. We proposed a reasonable monthly payment plan, but as of now, no payments have been received.
Your attention to this matter would be highly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dave and Jo Grabrovac

The new weather information chart in the paper lacks an explanation on how to interpret it properly. The numbers in the red and blue areas are confusing, and it's unclear what they represent. For instance, today's chart suggests a high of either 45 degrees at 5 P.M. or 50 degrees at an unspecified time in red, with a "feels like" temperature of 43 degrees. On the lower end, it indicates a "feels like" temperature of 22 degrees, leaving me puzzled. I find it challenging to make sense of this chart without clear guidelines. I miss the clarity of the previous weather chart, and I hope for a simpler format in the future.

I am requesting to cancel our Sunday subscription to the AJC due to a recent fire at our residence at [redacted] Hunterdon Way SE, Marietta, 30[redacted]. The insurance inspectors have informed us that we won't be able to live in the house for 6 to 9 months. I paid for the subscription using a Capital One Visa card and would appreciate a refund for the remaining unused period to be credited to that card. Thank you.

As a recent subscriber who returned in January [redacted], I have been experiencing ongoing issues with the delivery service. My paper has been consistently late, arriving as late as 11:00 AM. Furthermore, it has been wet on two occasions and there have been instances where I did not receive it at all. This situation has left me extremely dissatisfied. I kindly request that these delivery issues are resolved by Monday, 12/20/21. If not, I will have no choice but to request the cancellation of my subscription.

Hello, my name is Richard Williams, and I live in Cumming, Forsyth, GA. I have been a loyal subscriber to the AJC for over a decade. My question today is why there is a lack of coverage regarding Forsyth County in the newspaper. With a population exceeding [redacted],[redacted], Forsyth is a significant and growing area. I am disappointed that I need to visit the library to find news about my city and county, while neighboring areas receive coverage in your Metro section. As a subscriber, I would appreciate a response if you value my continued support. Please feel free to reach out to me via phone or email. I look forward to any information you can provide. Thank you.

The City Commissioner of Buford, Georgia, allegedly made undisclosed deals with a local church to allow them to construct a church on a historic street without public input. Concerns have been raised about the lack of transparency and the potential misuse of public property. It's distressing to see a public official may have overstepped boundaries, particularly when community members have long contributed through taxes toward the upkeep of the street. The situation suggests a conflict of interest, given the personal connections involved. There are questions about the legality and fairness of this arrangement that require further investigation. By reaching out, I hope to shed light on this issue, and I'm open to providing additional information if needed.
