What are the hours and when should I call?

Lowe's operates the call center for this 800-444-1408 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Monday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 89 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Lowe's phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Lowe's staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

Calling this Lowe's Customer Number

Jun 3, 2024

Unless you've signed up with the Lowe's credit card, you're not going to get any help from calling this number. This number is only tied to the credit card that Lowe's offers its customers, not general customer service at Lowe's.

As such, most of the menus are hidden away behind chokepoints. When I first called, I was asked to enter in my account number for my Lowe's credit card. I said multiple times that I did not carry the credit card. After three tries, it decided to take a different tact and asked for my Social Security number.

Again, I did not provide this information, as I didn't want to risk it getting out there. After a few tries, the system opted to ask me to choose another way to get information, which allowed me to ask for help in the area I wanted. I said that I wanted to get information on finding a Lowe's location while I was traveling, but the system did not give me that information.

Instead, the system told me I would need to call a different number if I wanted assistance with Lowe's products or services. After playing that message and giving me the option to repeat it, I chose not to repeat the message and the phone call ended.

Overall, I thought that this was a helpful experience, as you're able to get around the chokepoints and still get a little bit of assistance if you do so carefully. However, you need to make sure that you're willing to provide identification in some form; otherwise, this number will be of little use to you.

Without offering either the account number or Social Security number, the best you can do is get to a smaller menu and get limited information. As such, I'd only used this number if I was a Lowe's credit card holder.
