How Do I Open an Account on eToro?

There are a number of cryptocurrency exchanges to choose from, and deciding the one that is right for you can be a daunting task. After doing your research, you've decided on eToro as your exchange of choice, but what do you do next? How do you open an account on eToro? Opening a New Account on eToro

To open a new trading account on eToro, you need to complete the steps outlined below.

  1. Open eToro's website in your browser.
  2. Click the "Join Now" or "Trade Now" button on the page.
  3. Sign in with an existing Google or Facebook account, or create a username, enter your email and create a password.
  4. Review the following policies and check the box next to each on the registration page: E-Sign Policy, Client Agreements, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
  5. Click the "Sign Up" button.
  6. Review the notice that appears regarding eToro's compliance with EU policies combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
  7. Complete the necessary steps in the "Know Your Customer" (KYC) process to verify your identity.
    • Upload proof of identity (a government issued identification, passport or other official ID).
    • Submit proof of address (such as a bank statement, phone bill or other official mailer).
    • Make sure all documents are flat when you scan them or take a picture, and the photo is clear and easy to read.
  8. Complete the questionnaire as part of the KYC process. This questionnaire allows eToro to provide customized support and recommendations based on your knowledge and skills in crypto-trading.
  9. Once your account is verified (which can take several days), you will be notified by eToro. You can also track the verification process on the website by looking for a green tick to appear beside your username. If you need to submit additional documents or resubmit documents because they are unclear, eToro will notify you via email.
  10. Once your account is verified, set up 2FA and/or biometrics as added security.
