What Do I Do If My WeBull Account Has the Wrong Balance?

If you have a Webull account and discovered that it shows the wrong balance, there are a few things you can do. The first should be to ask a Webull representative to investigate. If you are not satisfied with that investigation, you can file a complain with FINRA and/or with the SEC.

If you just logged into your Webull account and found that it's showing the wrong balance, you are probably rather upset, and understandably so. Read this article to find out what you should do to rectify the situation.

Contact Webull

There are multiple perfectly innocent reasons why your account balance could be off. If Webull is in the middle of updating some of its software, for example, client balances can temporarily read wrong. It's a problem that will correct itself when the update is complete.

So the first thing to do is ask a Webull customer service representative what's going on. The representative will start an investigation and will most likely find out what the problem is pretty quickly and get it resolved. You can reach one by email, phone or on the help forum.

File a FINRA Complaint

If you are unsatisfied with the results of Webull's investigation, you can always file a complaint with FINRA, the Financial INdustry Regulatory Authority. This is a private self-regulatory organization for the securities industry. To do that, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the FINRA Investor Complaint Form page.
  2. Select the reason for your complaint from the Primary Violation menu.
  3. Enter the amount of money that is missing from your account.
  4. Enter the date of the problem.
  5. Answer the questions.
  6. Provide a summary of your situation in the text field at the bottom of the form.
  7. Click on the Next button.
  8. Provide the requested information about Webull.
  9. Provide the requested information about yourself.
  10. Submit the complaint.

File an SEC Complaint

You can also file a complaint with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, which is the federal agency which oversees the securities industry. Just follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the SEC investor complaint form page.
  2. Click on the "Yes, send the form to the firm or company" radio button. If you do not, the SEC cannot act on your complaint.
  3. Provide your personal information in the upper section.
  4. Provide Webull's details in the next section.
  5. Provide your investment details in the next section.
  6. Provide a summary of your complaint in the relevant text field.
  7. Describe the documents you have that can serve as evidence.
  8. Describe the actions you have taken to resolve the complaint so far.
  9. Fill out the CAPTCHA.
  10. Click on the Submit Form button.
