Government of Canada cheques, also known as treasury cheques, do not expire and remain valid and payable no matter how old they are. However, financial institutions may not accept them if they're past a certain age, typically six months to a year. If it's older than that, you may need to have it reissued. To get a new cheque, you will have to contact the department or agency that issued the original cheque.

We understand your concerns. Delays can be due to multiple reasons like high demand or more complex situations that need extra time for review. If it's been more than 28 days since you submitted your application and still haven't heard anything, it's possible there may be an issue. Please make sure that you're completing your bi-weekly reports to show you're still eligible. If you've already done this, please consider rechecking your account for any messages or notifications. Delayed responses may not necessarily mean your application was denied. It's best to wait for an official update from Service Canada regarding your E.I. application.
