If you own a Nissan car and you would like to check whether your vehicle has any recall notices, this guide will help you.

You are a Nissan owner because the company's cars are reliable and come at a good price. However, you want to make sure your vehicle does not have any outstanding safety recall notices, but you are unsure of how to check for recalls.

Fortunately, you can check for Nissan safety recalls on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website or by getting in contact with the Nissan customer service team.

To find out how to check for a recall notice on your Nissan car, read this easy to follow guide.

Check For Nissan Recalls On The NHTSA Website:

The most common way Nissan owners check for vehicle recall notices is by visiting the NHTSA website and running a recall check.

To do so, visit the NHTSA website homepage and locate the "Recalls" tab. You will find the "Recalls" tab in the main navigation bar, which is at the top of the page.

Once you have selected "Recalls," you will be transferred to the recall check page. To run a check, you need to provide your vehicle identification number (VIN).

Locating Your Vehicle Identification Number:

If you do not know the 17-character VIN associated with your Nissan car, you will need to find it to run a recall check.

You will find your vehicle identification inside your car, underneath the lower left of your windshield. Alternatively, your vehicle identification number should also be printed on your car's registration card.

Check Your Nissan For Recalls:

Now that you have found your 17-character vehicle registration number, you should be able to run a successful online recall check.

To do so, enter your VIN as instructed on the NHTSA website and click on the search button to begin the check.

It may take a few moments for the check to be complete. However, once the check has finished, you should be able to see any outstanding recalls that have been issued in the last 15 years by major vehicle manufacturers.

It is important to note that older safety recall notices, or recalls made by non-major manufacturers, may not appear.

Contact Nissan to Check for Recalls:

Using the NHTSA website to check for outstanding recalls is the quickest way to find out whether your Nissan car has any issues. However, you can also choose to contact the Nissan customer service team directly.

To do so, visit the Nissan website and scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see the navigation bar in the footer of the website. From the lower navigation bar, select "Contact Us."

You can then use the telephone number on the "Contact Us" page to call the Nissan customer service team, who will be able to run a full vehicle recall check for you over the phone.

If This Doesn't Work:

If after following these sets you still cannot check for recalls on your Nissan, contact the customer service team directly.

You can find the Nissan customer service contact details on the GetHuman website.
