4. Click 'Report a problem'

5. Find the option that describes your situation

6. Fill in the form and request a refund

7. You will get a message saying 'thank you for sharing your concerns' and then an email with details of your refund.

If you used your Apple ID to subscribe to Duolingo Plus, Apple is in charge. You must request your refund from them. You can do it by following these steps;

1. Navigate to iTunes on your computer

2. Tap on your Apple ID

3. Click on the option 'Purchase history'

4. Find the transaction for which you would like a refund and click 'Report Problem.'

Duolingo Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

If you purchase a subscription, your account will be billed for as long as your subscription is active. You can terminate your subscription whenever you want. Because of the auto-renewing feature, your subscriptions are automatically renewed. To stop the subscription from renewing automatically, log in to your account and terminate it even if you have already deleted your account.

Canceling Your Subscription

On Android

Android users can use the Google Play Store to make payments for their Duolingo subscriptions. To cancel your subscription, log in to Subscriptions and Services and find the subscription you wish to cancel. Click on the option 'Manage' and then 'Cancel Subscription.'

iOS/iPhone/iPad (App Store)

1. Find settings> [your name] > iTunes & App Store

2. Click on your Apple ID

3. Click 'View Apple ID'

4. Click 'Subscriptions' and then find the subscription you want to cancel

5. Select 'Cancel Subscriptions' and 'Confirm'

You will continue to enjoy our existing subscription until the period I over. Duolingo does not give you any refunds for your canceled subscriptions. It is impossible to undo subscriptions.

You have to re-subscribe in the future. Deleting your app or account is not equal to a cancelation. If you experience problems with your subscription, you don't always have to cancel it. You may get help from the customer support team.

The English Test

If there is a Test Issue, Duolingo may give you a refund. You are likely to receive a refund if you were unable to complete a test due to problems with the app or website. You may also get a refund if you get your results over 48 hours after completing the test. The refund you receive is determined by the nature of the problem.

To make a claim for your refund, you must write to Duolingo with details of the test issue within 24 hours. Include all the details of the issue and make it clear that you would like a refund. If they ask you to provide more information, do it as soon as you can. You can't get a refund if the test issue was a result of your own mistake. You must have met all the test requirements when taking it.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Duolingo Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Duolingo in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Get a Refund from Duolingo? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
