In fact, much of this information on this page is superfluous because this Verizon Wireless phone number is a direct line to a human being. The line is well-staffed and you should anticipate a very short wait on hold or none whatsoever, as long as you are calling during business hours.

What are the hours and when should I call?

Verizon Wireless operates the call center for this 908-559-4899 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Thursday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 29,934 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Verizon Wireless phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Verizon Wireless staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call Verizon Wireless is Thursday. The most busy day to call is Friday. Again, this is based on a sample of 29,934 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.
The shortest wait on hold
We measured the shortest hold times to be on Wednesday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Monday.
The best time to call
In summation, the best day to call Verizon Wireless is Thursday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that Verizon Wireless staffs the call center well on Thursday.
Once again, please put this information in perspective because this phone number has no phone menu or long waits. It generally gets picked up right away if calling during their opening hours. If there is any way, it will typically be very short.

My Experience Calling Verizon Wireless at this Number

Nov 13, 2023

This Verizon Wireless global roaming hotline is set up to help customers calling from outside the United States. The line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and exists specifically to provide support for Verizon’s international phone plans and travel assistance for Verizon Wireless customers.

When I dialed the number, I was greeted by an automated message and immediately prompted to enter my Verizon wireless phone number. However, I was also given the option to press pound to bypass that step, meaning that a non-Verizon customer could also access this line if necessary.

Following this prompt, I was taken to an automated menu that laid out three primary support options for this hotline. I could receive technical support for making international phone calls, technical support for using wireless data while abroad or assistance with adding a travel plan to a Verizon account.

No matter which option you choose at this point, the call will be transferred to a live Verizon customer service representative. When my call was transferred, I was connected to a representative almost immediately. The rep I spoke to was friendly and seemed happy to answer my questions.

It’s worth noting that Verizon’s global roaming hotline does boast an automatic callback feature if your call is disconnected, which is a valuable service. There’s not much worse than being disconnected during a customer service call and then having to call back and start at the very beginning of the process.

When my call to Verizon unexpectedly dropped, I received an almost immediate call back from the same representative with whom I’d been speaking. In fact, I actually missed the initial call back, and the Verizon rep called back a second time — I was impressed by this level of dedication to customer service.

Despite the rep’s desire to help, this call center is only able to provide assistance on issues related to international calling. When I inquired about the possibility of getting information regarding Verizon’s domestic offerings, the representative directed me to Verizon’s website and gave me a separate customer assistance hotline. He was not able to transfer me directly within the Verizon customer service system.

The global roaming hotline is set up for a very specific subset of Verizon customers — those who already have an international calling plan or who are interested in purchasing one. Based on my experience, I would expect to receive prompt and thorough customer service if I had an issue related to an international phone plan. Verizon customers who need support with other issues or who have general questions about domestic phone plans would be better off seeking solutions through Verizon’s website or one of the company’s other customer service numbers.
