Get a regular schedule, showing stops, for two bus routes. Even being ON the bus did not give me a schedule. It only had * pockets filled with surveys, or nothing in the pockets. I needed direction of where to catch a bus in a certain direction. I went online and they told me where to catch that bus. ONLY it was not the place to catch the bus at all. There's NO excuse for that. ... Several issues concerning false or missing information and missing buses (did not follow the schedule).*See above: no complaint line response at all (didn't answer the phone)* no way to get a bus schedule that I could figure out* false information - directions to catch a certain bus sent me to another street altogether, so I missed one or two buses that don't run that often. The Customer Service * is only for SmartTrip (??).*The website here in DC had a help line that took me to Houston, TX and they had no idea how to reroute me.**If Metro continues with this total lack of service for customers, they will never have regular customers, only ones who are desperate. This is the only country I've seen - of many- where the public transit system in not on time and where you can't easily get information. Time to send someone overseas to check out any country in Europe they want to see how to run a transit system.
They don't realize that people need to count on decent, complete, and simple means to getting information if they expect to gain customers. I never saw anything so messed up as the WMATA online system and the actual buses who did not seem to follow any rules. Customers cannot stay with public transit systems if nothing works as expected.*They need to try being a customer and going through various pieces of the website to see if they get what they were looking for.
Get me to a customer service rep on the phone - or in person - and walk me through how to get the very basic information I was seeking.
I've been a customer for decades. I don't always take buses, but my recent experience tells me absolutely not to count on them.*I'm also a good customer for taking the time to try to get to someone who cares about any of this. Will anyone read it? I wonder. Will I get a response - surely not.
