As a frequent senior bus rider close to 70, I have encountered issues with being asked to give up my senior seat for others like wheelchair users. I believe it's important to clarify to drivers that while I respect the needs of all passengers, the honored citizen seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. I want to ensure that seniors are not put at risk of falling due to being displaced from their seats. There have been incidents where I felt intimidated by other passengers when standing my ground. It would be beneficial for drivers to reserve front seats for seniors and disabled passengers instead of allowing various items to occupy those spaces. I often opt to wait for the next bus if all honored citizen seats are already taken by seniors or disabled passengers.

The West operators need to improve their adherence to rail safety protocols near my shop on Lombard & Broadway and Lombard and Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. Throughout the day, I hear and see them. I have noticed issues like not activating crossing lights and improper horn signals. Sometimes they only sound the horn once or use random honks instead of the required pattern. Additionally, they appear to be speeding excessively and have even forgotten to turn on headlights. This lack of compliance raises concerns about the quality of training received by the operators. It is crucial that this situation is addressed promptly. I intend to monitor the situation closely and may consider capturing video evidence if necessary.

I use the TriMet bus line 31 frequently, around 5 to 7 days a week, and the female driver who is about 5'4" tall with blonde hair is consistently rude, but that's not the main concern. My issue is that she refuses to provide me with my pass even after I show my honored citizen ID and pay $2.50 for an honored citizen day pass. It took a 2-minute argument to finally get my pass, during which time she would make insulting remarks under her breath, thinking I couldn't hear them. I am not looking to get anyone in trouble, but she needs to be held accountable and spoken to about her behavior and how it reflects on TriMet. Despite enjoying my overall experience, this woman's negative attitude towards her job or the riders is clear. Regardless of the reason, I believe I deserve a tad more respect as a paying customer.
