I am having trouble deciding on which telescope to purchase as it will be my first one. After conducting some research and considering the advantages and disadvantages, I have narrowed down my choices to two options:
1. Orion 80mm Short Tube EQ
2. Orion 90mm Starmax Maksutov-Cassegrain table-top
I intend to mainly observe the moon and planetary details. I reside in a city with a lot of light pollution.
I have a couple of concerns:
1. Will the 90mm focal length of the Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope make it challenging to locate objects?
2. Is the 80mm Short Tube EQ's focal length too short to provide good planetary details?
I would appreciate any advice you can offer on this matter.
