I recently discovered that I can request refunds for digital games on Steam, which was surprising to me as I had always thought it wasn't possible. I wanted to refund my copy of "We Happy Few" after playing for over 5 hours, finding it difficult to progress beyond the beginning due to not enjoying the game. While I understand the 14-day limit for refunds, the 2-hour gameplay restriction seems arbitrary to me, as some games take longer to get engaging. I believe Steam's refund policy could be clearer, especially since there is no direct "Refund" button in the Account Library or a clear "Steam Support" option on the application. This lack of transparency has led me to miss the opportunity for a refund on a game I genuinely did not like. I hope Steam can consider my case and provide a refund for "We Happy Few" despite the elapsed time and gameplay hours.

Hi. I recently logged into my account to update my phone number and after a few hours, my account was unexpectedly deleted. I will come back tomorrow with additional proof as this matter is important to me. I am determined to recover my account. Thank you, Emanuel G. Steam Support has acknowledged my help request. My reference code is HT-CVD7-2YDK-T59K. I have had this account since [redacted], originally given by a friend. I can provide identification and proof of ownership. Steam Support responded, stating that since the account was not originally created by me, I can no longer use it as per the Steam Subscriber Agreement. I am advised to create a new account. Regards, Emanuel G.

My father is an avid PC gamer with a long-standing account on Steam, currently at level 8. Around 12 days ago, he encountered difficulties accessing his account and attempted to go through the recovery process. However, the email address shown for the recovery steps did not match his own, leaving him unable to proceed. Despite trying different methods, he found himself in a frustrating loop. I, too, have a Steam account and noticed that he has not been active on his account for the entire duration of this issue. It seems his account has not been compromised, but he is eager to regain access as he has invested a significant amount of money in games. Any assistance in helping him recover his account would be greatly appreciated.

My son was bullied by an individual claiming to be a Steam/Valve employee named 'Lannister|Fox'. This person was unprofessional and threatened to delete my son's account while demanding valuable items. Another user, 'Picols.tf', apologized for falsely reporting my son and seemed concerned about his account's safety. It appears Lannister and Picols may be the same person. I am deeply disappointed by this behavior and would like to address this with Steam/Valve. I am very worried about my son's well-being after this distressing experience, especially on his first day of high school. I hope Steam/Valve can investigate this further and provide some resolution.

I am experiencing issues with my Steam account as it appears to have been hacked. The password and email associated with the account have been altered. Unfortunately, Steam lacks phone or email support for such matters. I am unable to recover my account by providing PayPal payment proof due to the changed email. Moreover, the process of entering a ticket seems to be obstructed by the hacker who altered my email. I need guidance on where to submit my payment proof screenshot and transaction ID for support to validate and restore my original email linked to the account. Despite attempts to contact Steam via phone, I was informed that phone support is not available.

I attempted to log into my Steam account with various passwords before changing it to a new one, but now I'm locked out due to too many failed attempts. I know I should wait 30 minutes before trying again, and I've waited even longer, but the suspension persists. Is there a way to remove this penalty from my account? I just want to unwind with GTA5 after a tough day at work, and dealing with this issue is adding unnecessary stress.

Hello, I purchased the game "Alice: Madness Returns" from Steam a while ago. I attempted to install it on my old computer, but it was too outdated to run the game. I am now trying to install it on a different computer using the same Steam account. When trying to register the product key in the EA pop-up, I keep getting redirected to the login page due to a session timeout message. Oddly, my Steam account shows that I have played the game for 5 hours despite not having registered the key. It seems like there might have been an issue with the registration process since the game never ran. I have reached out to Steam customer support, but they do not offer live chat, and EA customer support has not been helpful. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Subject: Urgent: Scam Incident Dear Support Team, I recently fell victim to a scam where I purchased $[redacted].00 worth of Steam voucher gift cards at Walmart for someone who, in turn, sent me funds which have now proven to be fraudulent. I failed to recognize the suspicious nature of the transaction at the time. I have reached out via email to your customer support but have yet to receive a response. Additionally, I have notified my bank in the hopes of suspending these transactions. I possess the original receipts and untouched Steam voucher gift cards, with the back still fully intact. I am earnestly seeking a full refund to prevent any potential fees resulting from the reversal of the sent funds, which I cannot afford given my current financial situation as a university student. Your prompt assistance in addressing this urgent matter would be immensely valued. Thank you, Samantha

I woke up to this message, and I'm unsure about its implications. Does this mean my account will be permanently banned? I haven't done anything wrong, except changing my profile picture and name recently, which were not graphic. I don't understand what's happening and would appreciate assistance since I only have 24 hours. This account has received a violation for service agreement breaches. - Trading, gifting, inviting, buying or selling items, editing profiles, uploading content, and other interactions with the Steam Community will be disabled within 24 hours. - Once the ban is in effect, an overview of the report will be sent to my email: [redacted]. - Account functionality will be limited. Bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be lifted by Steam support. - I have one day to trade my items. - Additional information can be found in the Steam Terms of Service Agreement.

I was instructed to purchase a card and $[redacted].00 was deducted from my debit card. Suspecting fraud, I am requesting a refund for the amount transferred to your gaming company. I do not use your products and expect a refund through a customer support number rather than a chat room. I have been an inventor in optical compression with Hewlett Packard since [redacted]. I need my $[redacted].00 refunded to my debit card. The scratch off code is RFZLQ-3D5Z8-T68Y4, but there is no account associated with it. I purchased the card at Maui Walmart, located at [redacted] Pukaula St. Kahului, HI [redacted], on 08/19/19 at 13:26:35. Kindly arrange for a refund. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My account was hacked by the YouTube user Толстопуз with 87k subscribers. He tricked me into trading all my CS:GO skins to my friend under the guise of getting a free knife for a YouTube video. However, he stole all my items, leading me to block his account. Fortunately, I was able to remember his account name and picture, allowing me to unblock him. The person involved in the trade is Ultimatethug. I feel really upset and disappointed by this experience and considering quitting PC gaming entirely. This is the second time I have been scammed through Steam trading. The incident highlights the various ways scammers can exploit users on Steam nowadays. I hope Valve can assist me in retrieving my skins. My Steam username is Gowther.

I purchased a $[redacted] USA Steam Wallet gift card intending to use it for Bitcoin on Paxful. After sending the card to the vendor, they claimed it had already been redeemed. I suspect the vendor may have redeemed it. There's now a dispute, and the moderator suggested contacting Steam Wallet to verify the exact date and time of redemption. Kindly assist in checking the redemption details of the Steam Wallet gift card with the code HQGZ3 4IH64 I2NM2.

I recently bought Squad on Steam and have been experiencing significant issues. Despite installing it on an SSD, the game has excessively long loading times, sometimes up to 30 minutes, making it unplayable. The performance is hindered by choppy gameplay, frequent lag, and FPS drops to nearly 0. I also struggle to connect to multiplayer servers due to the extended loading times causing timeouts. Moreover, after the third loading screen, the game freezes, slowing down my entire PC even after force quitting. Although I have tried troubleshooting for a full day - clearing RAM, optimizing files, adjusting graphics settings, and even re-downloading the game - nothing has improved its performance. Despite meeting the minimum system requirements, the game remains unplayable due to freezing, lag, and connection issues. I have requested a refund from Steam Support, but they have denied it, citing my playtime exceeding 2 hours. However, I have explained that most of this time is spent waiting on loading screens. If the game continues to be unplayable, I would appreciate a refund of $40.

While trying to log into Steam on a different platform and verifying my email with security keys in a hurry, I mistakenly ended up purchasing 40 crate keys for Rocket League without my knowledge or authorization. The emails confirming the purchase were in a different language, but I did not intend to buy them. I only meant to log in securely. I used Steam cards for the unintended transaction totaling $63.93, and I am seeking assistance in getting a refund for these unauthorized crate keys. I have already changed my email and password on Steam as a precaution. Please provide guidance on resolving this issue and refunding the wrongful charge.

I purchased the Shadowbringers expansion for Final Fantasy 14 Online less than 20 minutes ago. I am increasingly frustrated with the registration process for the product by Square Enix, to the point where it's not worth my time to keep trying to get it to work. I have permanently deleted the game from my Steam account and requested a refund. However, I was informed that it contains non-refundable consumable content. I have not installed the game on my computer, let alone registered it. Why am I being denied a refund for a game I haven't even used or registered?

I received an email informing me that a new phone number ending in 14 has been added to my account. Subsequently, a computer from Russia accessed my account, and then another email notified me that my linked email has been changed to a Russian email address. I am unable to reset my password, and I am concerned that even if I do change it successfully, the unauthorized user may revert it back before I can remove their email and phone number. I am unsure of the best course of action in this situation.

I recently had my Steam account hacked, and I'm unsure if Steam will reply to me. I'm worried as I didn't do anything to cause the hack. I've sent three support messages to Steam because I panicked when it happened. The hack occurred because someone linked their fake Steam account to mine when I logged in. Please, can anyone help me with this? My email is [redacted] I prefer not to be called due to my poor English. I hope Steam responds quickly.
