My former car insurance company charged me when they shouldn’t have. I made an indemnity claim through Santander who refunded the payment. The insurance company sent me a letter saying they would keep trying to take money out of my account on particular dates. I don’t authorise these payments. The insurance claim to have refunded the original payment but I never received their refund. I called Santander and was told that I couldn’t stop these payments from being taken from my account unless I closed my account. I can see a payment to the insurance is pending in my account and can’t get through to anyone at Santander to stop the payment, or once it goes through, to make yet another indemnity claim. I’d like a record that I’ve instructed them that all payments to the insurance company are not authorised. I don’t want to keep wasting time making indemnity claims again and again.
