What are the fees for using my debit card abroad?

Asked a year ago
The fees for using your debit card abroad with Santander (UK) vary depending on the type of account you have. For current accounts, using your debit card for purchases in a foreign currency incurs a non-sterling transaction fee of 2.95% of the transaction amount. Additionally, cash withdrawals from ATMs outside the UK attract a non-sterling cash fee of 2.95% (minimum £1.99) per transaction. However, if you have a Zero Current Account or a 123 World or Select Current Account, some of these fees may be waived. It is important to note that some ATM providers may charge additional fees. To avoid these charges, Santander recommends using their credit card instead, specifically designed for use abroad with no foreign transaction fees.
