I have been shopping with Meijers for over five years now I am a M perks member and I also am a Meijers credit card holder. Today I went inside of the Urbanna gas station and I asked the attendant for a temporary shopping pass. I had informed her that I had lost my wallet. Her response was quite not what I was expecting, she informed me that the temporary shopping pass was only for those who had applied for a credit card and who are waiting on their card in the mail. I have had a Meijer credit card for years I have asked for temporary shopping passes before and this is the first I’ve ever been told that I could not get a temporary shopping pass because I was not waiting on anew card in the mail. I did inform the gas station attendant on how a temporary shopping pass works and after some back and fourth she agreed to serve me as a patron. I had proper identification and I actually shop at Meijers at least * times a week, I think someone should inform this employee of the purpose of the temporary shopping pass. Imagine walking in the store, I’m the only customer, I see the attendant stocking the fridge section. I greet her and say “I’m going to need a temporary shopping pass for my gasoline purchase” the attendant says “are you waiting on a new card?” I respond “ no I lost my wallet last night, I haven’t ordered a new one ” her response “ well I’m not supposed to give you a temporary shopping pass unless your waiting on a new card”. And we go back and fourth as previously stated. She wasted a lot of my time with the back and fourth.. and caused a Unnecessary situations where a customer felt they had to defend their ability to use a temporary shopping pass
