I have just returned from Kelowna, Canada on **th September to Newcastle upon Tyne ( arriving **th Sept). My flight was delayed in Kelowna(flight KL**** - operated by Westjet to Edmonton) which meant all connecting flights to Newcastle via Edmonton and Amsterdam were affected( flights KL*** from Edmonton to Amsterdam KL*** from Amsterdam to Newcastle.)* I was redirected on Icelandic airways *to Reykjavik ( flight F****) then from Reykjavik to Amsterdam (flight F****) then from Amsterdam to Newcastle ( flight KL ***) with four hours wait in Amsterdam. I had purchased my window seat on my original KLM flight from Edmonton to Amsterdam and also would have had two meals and snacks provided on all flights, which Icelandic flights did. I therefore had to purchase snacks at the airports as they did not accept cash on board. I understand the every thing possible was done to get me back home, but I returned four hours later exhausted by having four flights in one day with no meals provided. Could you please let me know if I am able to receive any compensation especially for the seat I purchased and the lack of meals for eight hours on the substituted Icelandic flights? I thank you in anticipation.
