I am in the process of trying to transfer a life insurance policy that matured over 25 years ago in my father's name, who passed away two years ago. Despite providing the necessary documents and meeting their requests, the insurance company continues to give me the runaround for the past two years. I faced a similar issue when my mother passed away in [redacted], needing my father's consent to transfer the policy, which he delayed and now is unable to provide due to his passing. I have diligently followed their instructions, including attempting to obtain the required death certificate from California. Despite my efforts, I seem to be stuck in a loop with the company asking for the same documentation repeatedly. At 53 years old, I simply seek to have the policy rightfully transferred into my name. After losing my mother in April [redacted], amidst the chaos of the coronavirus pandemic, many government agencies in Puerto Rico were closed. It took about a month and a half for my lawyer to obtain a copy of the death certificate. Initially, my agent attempted to file the death claim using the hospital certificate due to the delay in obtaining the official document. Unfortunately, the claim was rejected and required the death certificate. I've been struggling for two weeks to email a clear copy of the certificate to my agent since their office is closed. Despite trying to fax it, the machine at the office in San Juan, PR is not working. Frustrated with the situation, I am looking to send all necessary documents via certified mail and requesting the claim form be sent for that purpose.

In [redacted], I applied for Life Insurance with John Hancock through agent Thomas Elliot. The proposed Life policy (Policy Number: #94 [redacted] [redacted]) ended up as a Temporary Life Insurance Agreement. When the application wasn't pursued, the company refunded me $[redacted].99 via check # [redacted]. I recently found the check, but it's over [redacted] days old and can't be cashed. As a retired individual with a Long Term Care Policy from John Hancock, I'm hoping they can reissue the refund check for the original amount. I'm an active customer of the company and would truly appreciate their consideration of my request. Thank you, Eugene D.
