I reached out to Town North Nissan (TNN) from Cargurus*about purchasing a vehicle I found on that site. I expressed*an interest in purchasing the vehicle for $**,*** * TT&L*contingent on a Pre-purchase Inspection. There were a*couple*few back and forth emails, all ignoring my offer.*When I asked Emmett Hylton if he would address my offer,*he responded,*"**k plus ttl sounds reasonable to me. When can you come*in to test drive it?"*I replied to Mr. Hylton that there was no need for me to*come in until the car had passed a Pre-purchase Inspection.*I did not hear from Mr. Hylton for a couple days so, I sent*an email to the entire sales management team listed on the*TNN website. (Echetebu Kennedy, Hardy Woodall, Lee*Tinoco and Oscar Diaz)*That email contained the following:*Sales Managers,*I have been communicating with Emmett regarding the*purchase of a **** Ford Flex, stock number GBA*****,*VIN *FMGK*D**GBA*****. We have agreed on a sales*price of $**,*** plus TT&L.*Emmett asked when I would like to come in and test drive*the car. I responded that today afternoon would work for me,*I have not heard back.*I did send Emmett another email last night, around *:**PM,*after hours for your dealership, I believe.*In that email I explained that there is no need to test drive*the car as much as there is a need for me to get a PPI before*I complete the purchase.*I am guessing maybe Emmett is off today or comes in later,*is there someone else that can assist me with getting the car*over to a Ford dealership so I may get a PPI?*Thanks,*Page * of **Please describe your complaint in detail*Craig Cowen*To which Mr Tinoco responded:*Craig,*This is Lee the sales manager at Town North Nissan.*Emmett is not scheduled in until later. How can I assist you*?*Lee Tinoco*To which I responded:*Thank you for getting back to me.*As I explained, I am trying to get this vehicle over to a Ford*dealership for a PPI.*It seems Emmett only replies once a day. Odd behavior for*someone trying to sell something.*Are you able to assist me?*Thanks,*Craig*I did not hear back from anyone. I then called Mr. Hylton*and agreed to come in and test drive the car, even though I*explained it was not important to me. What was important*was getting a PPI.*I test drove the car, spoke with Mr. Diaz in person and we*agreed I would come in the next morning to take the car to a*Ford dealership for the PPI.*I came in, took the car over to a Ford Dealership. The car*passed the PPI with no issues noted.*I went back to TNN and agreed to buy the car. At this point*I was working with a salesperson named Jordan. Jordan*asked me "what price did you and Emmett agree to?". When*I told him the agreement, he explained that was too low and*they could not sell the car to me at that price. I asked Jordan*if he was authorized to accept a price and he said he was not.*I asked him to please let me speak with someone who is.*At that point I was again confronted by Mr. Diaz who*parroted what Jordan had told me. Mr. Diaz Told me that I*am obviously an experienced car buyer and that there is no*way I expected them to sell me the car at that price. I asked*Mr. Diaz if he had a counter offer and he told me it would*be insulting, he would only lower the price by one or two*hundred dollars. My conversation with Mr. Diaz also*included covering the fact that he knew what my*expectations were when I met with him the previous day and*he acknowledged having read my email. He told me that*Emmett only agreed to my offer to get me in the door and*that they had no intention of ever selling me the car for that*price. I asked Mr. Diaz at one point if he was even going to*Page * of **offer to reimburse me for the PPI I had gotten and his*response was a shrug of his shoulders. He would not*verbally address my question on that matter.
